  5. try to preserve marble flooring as it add value to future valuation.
  6. i agree with aijo. "Only marble can give this kind of reflection" and its would be a waste to hack it. aijo, u're so lucky to have got marble floorings. I paid for higher homo tiles and really hate the homo tiles for the 3.5years that I stayed in my EM. It get stained easily, looks dull and u can see the dirt. I can never get satisfied with the flooring no matter how I mop it. Really hate it so much and really regret doing homo tiles. Should have done up my floorings with either granite or marble. Its just my luck that the seller had very old famous ceramic tiles and I had to hack it. Now, I'm smarter and even though there are a few crack lines to the ceramic tiles and a few tiny chips here and there in the floor which is already 20yrs old, I simply refused re-do the flooring for my 5-room flat. Definitely no more Homo tiles for me....ever again. So happy with the ceramic flooring since moving in 3 weeks ago. I no longer have to bear with the stains VISIBLE from homo tiles and am satisfied with the universal shine from my ceramic tiles. Merely looking at it after mopping and stepping on it already makes my day as compared to those days when I get moody looking at my homo tiles.
  7. heee....pics would be coming up soon in next few days. No la, cut cost and not making the same mistakes as my EM so didnt spent alot on my 5-room. Only do the necessary.
  8. no problem, would be posting the pics here soon once I download into the PC
  9. hmmmm...interesting. What's the brand of this PVC flooring? Is it warm? How much did u pay to lay for the bedrooms?
  10. bought mine from Kleen opposite Jln Besar Stadium. Look for Eileen, she's the boss and good service.
  11. try not to go for either white or black solid tops as that's the advise given by some IDs I visited previously. Scratches are very visible for these two colours. Can go visit those IDs' showroom and u'll know what I mean if the showroom is done up either with white or black solid tops. I love my solid top at my EM but now I have black galaxy for my kitchen top and really falling in love with it.
  12. ya, feel sad to leave my beloved EM. Spent alot on reno and alot of time decorating and beautifying the EM. Really didnt know that 3 and a half years later we moved on to a 5-room.
  13. Hi everyone, I've not changed my signature yet as I'm still the rightful owner of my EM....sob sob but going for 2nd appointment next week then I would 'resign' from my post in this thread as the unofficial EM kakis counter...someone else can take over the counting to keep track.....heeeee....anyway, many already MIA some updates: I've already moved into my 5-room for about 3 weeks but yet to set up my T-blog as felt its not very nice since I'm not the rightful owner of the unit yet. 2nd appointment would be in early May. Seller gladly gave us the key on 1st appointment. Supposed to kick start reno after getting the keys but some ding dong delays here and there from HDB on the permit so started about a week later and reno completed in less than 2 weeks as we had to move in by 3rd week of Mar. Seller gave us a duplicate key to the letterbox and we told her she can keep hers even for up to 3 months after 2nd appointment as we have no issue with it. She just have to pick up her letters and leave the rest in the letterbox. This would also be the arrangement that we would be having with our buyers. We had been having this 3-month arrangement for the letterbox since our 1st flat. No problem with our buyer and seller. Anyway, I'm still doing unpacking and I really hate it! before I go, those interested, can pm me if u need contact to buy toilet bowls, sink, tap, etc.
  14. ya, go for a win win situation as seller can turn nasty if u nasty to them. They can damage the house before hand over to u so nice to people and people would be nice to us. I just shifting to new place (oops, not even my flat yet) and had handed over my place to my buyer, all done before 2nd appointments. My 2nd appointment for selling is next week and 2nd appointment for buying is early May.
  15. dont quite get what u mean. got pic to show us as not all HDB letterboxes are the same
  16. only one or two of its models made in Japan.
  17. i would not recommend overlaying your marble flooring with laminated floorings. Its such a waste and not advisable to lay laminated flooring over big floor area that's heavily used by human traffic. If have to, just go for bedrooms but since u didnt mention bedrooms then I supposed the bedrooms are already laid with either laminated flooring or parquet.
  18. gosh, it really look very bad. I've been using bi-fold doors for the past 6 years but never encounter rust. Never used pd doors before but ever gone to a friend's house using it and its looks really flimsy and cost more than normal bi-fold. Its innovative as one can open & close like a bi-fold door, yet can also turn it into a sliding door. In fact, the top catch came off when my son tried to slide it open but my friend managed to fix it back. Do go for higher range if u can as I believed its 'yi fen qian, yi feng huo'.
  19. depending on what needs to be shifted. HDB would send the letter out, informing owners to contact the respective department to carry out the assessment and whether this and that need to be shifted. eg PUB electrical metre, PUB water metre, SCV cable box, etc. Payment to be made to the respective departments for works carried out.
  20. hahaha...no good meh? I used it b4, not too bad la.
  21. Hi, what's the brand of the hob and hood u using & where u bought yours? Me now trying to look for the cheapest in town and intend to get back Rinnai.
