Mm.. interesting topics.. I will stick one leg in... Family04, sorry for flooding your t-blog... Since the past few weeks, the weather is really killing me... Kinda regret not getting system 4 aircon, now everytime I sit in living room, I am sweating even though I'm not doing anything!! We bought 1 tower fan, but.. even though it's windy, it's still quite warm... But after reading these posts, I think stormcontrol calculation makes sense, so probably we should get one portable aircon. Anyone try portable aircon before? We had one before, very old one. You have to put ice cubes otherwise, it's just normal fan.. I saw there're a few portable aircons selling for around 200 bucks only, are they the same as the old type where you have to put ice cubes?

I luv your wardrobe

Yes, the dining table is from S&C Furniture Dynamic. Talk about the dining table, the black glass is not tinted glass, it's just a normal white glass coated with 1 layer of black paint below. We scared that the the coating can be scratched off easily which we really think it will. So, if anyone thinking of buying this dining table, IMHO, should just buy the white one, or request to use real black tinted glass. But I think will be more expensive. Other than that we are quite happy with the rest. We are now busy packing our stuff. I think we can only relax down abit after move in... Booy, Feel free to drop by our place.. If you want to come, let us know, we will PM you our address.

Finally our laminate flooring was changed and our curtain has also been installed. And we are very happy that OUR RENOVATION IS OFFICIALLY OVER! :D I think I should write a short review on Uncle Soon upon completion. We are glad that we engaged Uncle to do the renovation for our new flat, though there're quite a lof of hiccups here and there, rectifications, etc that at one stage we both thought that this process was killing us.. We were so tired as we had to rush back every night to check on the progress. And quite a number of times, I have to rush back during lunch time as well. Fortunately, our new flat is very near to our current place, otherwise, it may really be such a pain to supervise the process. However, I have to say that Uncles is really a nice guy. He really meant what he said, you can rest assure that Uncle will definitely rectify all defects found without any excuse given. And he will also throw in a few FOC items without us asking: 1. Shelvings in storeroom 2. Box up piping 3. Repaint all doors 4. There're still a few other items which I can remember And IMHO, the best part is he gave very good price for every items done. Less than 2k for the following VO items: MBR false ceiling, raised platform, our small vanity in master bathroom, headboard, TV console and extra 3ft full height cabinet at study area. So, we give Uncle Soon 4 popcorns out of 5. (Rating: ****)

Welcome, looking forward to seeing your house renovation pics as well. No problem.. Post more pics on your t-blog yeah..

Did you buy your own floor waste trap? It's not the normal plastic one, isn't it? Is it made from stainless steel? Mine is the plastic one provided by Uncle

hard to describe it here, from close view you can see the perspex cutting line and the wire as well, and also the glue/silicon. mmm.. I thought ours is the smallest size also.. RF charged me higher... The s/s backing is resolved now, they cut out the silicon and put lesser silicon just to secure the hood chimney.. By no means it can be called ideal, but it's acceptable.. The person took almost a day to do it..

Ohh.. that's glad to hear that... Mmm.. Then we will request it to be changed then no need to consider anymore.. hahaha

oohh.. if uncle continue this way, he is bound to have problem in the future... I think he really should be more strict in managing his finance as well. no wonder last week he suddenly appeared at my place checking for defects and ask me to pay all the remaining balance as well. but since he's very nice to just charge us a lump sum (and of course with discount), so we wait no more and paid him the next day..

Yes, at first we wanted to buy EF washer as well.. Btw, if you decide to buy EF, you can try Goh Ah Bee.. So far their price is the lowest for EF washer, we checked out Parisilk, Everjoin, Goh Ah Bee, Gain City and Best Denki.. But EF doesn't have 8kg washer, so we decided to go with Brandt because Electrolux and Bosch are more expensive...

Thank you.. Yes, it's 20AUH and installed by uncle.. We bought it from Royal Fanco.. It's mounted on perspex not glass.. Actually from close view, it doesn't look very good. No problem.. Most of the idea also come from this forum.. So, we want to thank everyone who shares their photos and renovation process..

At first uncle asked someone to come and polish it with don't know what liquid.. But instead of white patches, it became brown patches... Eventually uncle told me he will need to ask the people from powerdekor to come, and most likely will need to replace it.. so need to take out part of the skirting... big headache.. so need to wait and see how they rectify it.. Thanks... It took us nearly 2 weeks to come to decision to install it.. Yeah very expensive.. I actually called up Uncle to ask him how come wallpaper so expensive.. Last time he told me 300-500 can do already.. Then he said he would pass me another contact for wallpaper... But waited for a few days and after 2-3 reminders, he still never gave me.. So, in the end we settle with this one..

I wish we can have that also... but no more budget

Thanks.. Initially we were thinking of getting something darker, but we felt that our MBR was already very dark.. So, decided to go for lighter color... We were quite happy that the wallpaper turn out well as well.. It costs $957 for 20 sqm of the wallpaper + installation fee. We have some left (should be around 2-3 sqm).. Thinking of doing some diy ourselves... But haven't figured out what to do.. Not yet, the ritual shift date is this coming Thursday... Most likely, we will only move in by 27 of this month, still waiting for the curtain to be installed and one more outstanding rectification. For us it will only be two of us.. But occassionally both our parents may come to Singapore..

Thanks a lot luckable... I cannot remember how much each. But total for washer and baby folio is 2.6k. We are getting from Mega Discount Store during their promotion last month. Actually we are not planning to get this washer.. but according to promotter if you want to wash king size cormforter it's better to use the 8kg. The other functions that we like is the Optia 45.. can finish washing in 45 minutes.. I think normal front load will take more than 1 hour?

Our MBR wallpaper also has been installed.

Yesterday uncle asked his man to come to fix the s/s problem.. Though it's not really ideal, but it's in acceptable condition now.. Overall we are quite glad that one more thing has been resolved. So at the moment, only left with 1 outstanding issue need to be rectified.. There're a few white patches on MBR laminate floor and 2 dented planks.. This can only be rectified next Saturday... Taken a few pictures with the electronic appliances all in: Baby Folio fridge: And our brandt 8kg washer: Study area with 2 office chairs and Brandt soft toy:

Yeah, we only realised it after we placed it in our living room... It doesn't look so big in Cellini showroom.. Probably because we like it so much that our sub conscious mind try to ignore this fact.. Nah.. We saw you posted yours before.. And it looks really nice too.. You are really sharp mm.. we love his songs, but not really a big fan of his.. We wanted to try out the new sound system and lcd, and Jay's album happen to be one of our very minimum dvd/cd collections.. Really glad to hear that... Cheers...

Finally our cellini sofa and coffee table were delivered today. And we just realised that the cellini sofa is very big... And it make our small living room even smaller...

Hahaha... Yes, it's my unit.. So far, we are quite satisfied with his work. He will try his best to change the scratched laminate.. So far he has changed 3-4 times already on different things.. He always complaint to me that the scratches were not his fault, when he completed the carpentry there's no scratches and properly wrapped... But he continued saying but since my unit was done by him, he got no choice still have to change for me.. Just that he's unlucky.. So yeah, he's quite good.. Actually there're still some other scratches, but those which are difficult to change and not very obvious, we do not want to pursue too much..

Mmm.. I think it will not be cheap... Last time we ever asked Uncle to laminate over the wardrobe in bedroom 2, he said it will cost 90 bucks for 2 doors (top and bottom for the full height wardrobe, And the wardrobe has 6 set of doors, total have to pay 540 just to change the door. In the end, we decided to hack away the wardrobe and just buy a off-the-shelf wardrobe from S&C..
