Hi all! Thank you all for the suggestions and ideas. The reno is completed. It already been day 4, and we have already had friends and family over. The place's still in a mess as there is much cleaning and unpacking to be done. There is quite a hand full of touch ups to be done and also our wardrobe is not completed yet, but otherwise, it is beautiful! Willl try and upload pics when time permits. Cheers!

Hi there. Do you have the shop's name? The one everyone is talking about is at Hougang St21, Goh Ah Bee. They offer free delivery and COD terms. Ordered my refrigerator and microwave oven. Prices are competitive, brand and model dependant up to $100 less from big name shops like Harvey Norman, Best Denki, Courts...etc. You really must do some homework on prices and brands in order to get the best deal. Our items are scheduled to be delivered on 22 Nov 2008. My friends have purchased their stuff from GAB and no complaints as yet. Good luck! Cheers

Hi there! Sounds about right. Your list of tasks to be carried out is similar to an overhaul, but for a brand new condo, it should have almost everything in place, but then again it's a matter of preference. We are getting ours done at almost the same costs as yours but ours is 10 years old. Have you gotten a second opinion? I reccomend X'clusive Interior down at Katong Mall. Ask for Richard Lau and tell him Brian sent you. Good luck and let us know how it went. We can be contacted at brianisnow@yahoo.com.

Hello there, we did get a second quote and the quote was from $800 upwards. Yes, we agree that the fabrics have a part to play but the frabrics on the second quote was not worth mentioning. I have to recommend Jimmy Textile at Tanjong Katong Complex's branch. The service is good and they leave you alone after their initial presentation and suggested ideas. They will be on-site for the actual measurements on 8 Nov and completion will be on 15 Nov. Pretty good service if you ask me.

Hi therre. Got the quote from Jimmy Textile down at Tanjong Katong Complex. The fabrics' are not too bad. The total price comes with stainless steel rods and installation. I am lucky I only have the bedroom and living room to curtain-up. Drop me your email addie and we'll see how it goes from there. Cheers

Is $720 in total too much to pay for curtains to: (1) day curtains for the living room (2) day / night curtains for the bedroom

(1) Our place is under renovation at the moment. We hacked off the bathtub and made a standing shower with the area. There would not be water pooling at the drainage area as the floor would have a gentle slope towards the floor water trap. Also, remember to ask your contractor to build a curb either a step up or step down to prevent splashing to the WC bowl area and surronding areas. A shower screen would help too. No post reno prob as my old place is still having a standing shower. (2) The existing shower area could be turned into a storage area for your linens (dry towels), supplies (toilet rolls etc) (3) Will upload the photos when available. Cheers

Hi all. Any advice for the sort of lights to be used over a W180 x D90cm dinning table? Anyone knows where to locate a wall mounted ironing board like the one Home Niche has; one which looks like a feature on a wall. Check it out: http://www.myhome.com.sg/HomeImprovement/HomeStore/Content/shtml/ironingboards.shtml

Thanks for the tips. What are the various maintenance probs aer we looking at? I can only think of 2; moisture and termites. I agree that PD Doors are a tad fancy but the $$$ between the alum and PD are relatively the same, about $50 difference.

Hi all Any ideas and suggestions which to use regardless of toilet or yard entrance. Costs advice would be nice. Original plan was wooden frame with full glass for yard and glass sliding for toilet. Comments please. What about PD Doors? Any advice? Cheers
