  1. My air con although working recently kept giving sudden gushes of cold air on and off (as if something is choked somewhere). My air con servicing guy wasn't sure of the problem therefore I need recommendation to fix this. Can anyone recommend?
  2. Does anyone has contact to adjust door closer? My main door is installed with door closer and slam so loudly when closing.

    Curtains Help

    Hi Ash Rinz I got mine made at Tanjong Katong Complex. There're loads of curtain shops and the one I patronize is Jimmy Textile. They have a wide range of fabrics and can also arrange measurement to be done at your place.
  4. Just to share with those who bought their mattresses from Living Story / Home Fashion but yet to receive theirs. I am pleased to inform that I've received mine (Nelson River) after I hounded them for answers. I called them at 24 Dec (after several weeks of delay) and they finall sent me one yesterday! Just a sign of relief that my episode with them is finally over. Please note that they have actually ordered from another supplier as the delivery order stats another company.. and bill to Fashion Home! So please chase them for your mattresses!!

  6. I would also like to share my experience with them although I've already pour out my frustrations in another thread here which some may not be aware. Well, here goes.. like lynettetan's parents, I got lured by their ad and purchase a Simmons mattress **** Story in Oct 08, with stated date of delivery on 5 Dec 08. When I called them nearer to date, they told me would check and called by hubby (his mobile stated on the invoice) of a delay. My hubby later received call from another staff to say the mattress is on time and thereafter from a third staff explaining the delay (they just don't communicate!). Sensing the fishiness and out of frustration, we stormed the company in the evening demanding explanation and a staff Nicholas attended to us, extending his apologies and explained the delay was caused by fire in California which affected their warehouse (fire was indeed reported in news during that period) and whether we would like to choose another model (but must pay additional $300) which we declined. Nicholas then informed they will deliver the bed frame we have selected first then mattress sometime mid to end Dec 08. Bedframe was indeed delivered but not the correct one and I had to call them again, they tried to persuade me to take it but I demanded to have the one I selected and they told me it would take about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks to customised. I asked them to call my hubby to explain and my hubby, after blasting them, demanded for a fax to state the bed frame delivery and matress delivery dates, which they did, specifying the bedframe delivery on 18 Dec 08 and mattress end Dec 08 (didn't managed to nail a date though). As of 18 Dec 08, the correct bed frame was delivered, thanks to my close follow up with this lady from logistics dept (which I found to be the most helpful of the lot). And now, I'm following up for the mattress, which they told my hubby to be 24 Dec 08. Hopefully I can get them to send one to me before they close shop!! To those still following up on their items, please call and pressure them!
  7. The company delivered a wrong bedframe and when I highlighted to them, they said it's out of stock and would need to customise the bedframe therefore.... will deliver 18 Dec 08. My hubby insisted that they put this in writing and they did, which also indicated the mattress delivery on 24 Dec 08.. I hope this will be the end of the saga... ryan13680 thanks for the reminder... the model is indicated on the invoice but who knows what tricks they have up their sleeves! Will also check their website for the warranty... Thanks!
  8. saga continuation ...... A staff called back to inform me that the bed frame I wanted was out of stock for a couple of months and if I still want the chosen bedframe, I would have to wait till 18 Dec 08 as they have to custom made.. what is this!!!! For now, I'll have to accept their bedframe and wait for the new one!!
  9. wwy check out Jimmy's Textile at Tanjong Katong Complex ground level (5 mins walk from Paya Lebar MRT) near Malay Village. I got my blinds and curtains from them at a reasonable price (provided you are a good negotiator).

My saga continues..... a bed frame was delivered this morning 4 Dec 08 ... luckily my hubby was there to check on the final cleaning and was told by the contractor that bed frame has been delivered. He checked the bed frame and realised that it was the wrong one. I called the delivery hotline and was advised they would call back but up till after lunch time, no one called...

We purchased a parallel import Simmons mattress (Nelson River) together with a storage bed frame from Living Story (operated by Fashion Home) at Genting Road in mid Oct 08, stating delivery to be on 5 Dec 08. During the last week of Nov 08, I called them to confirm delivery on 4 Dec 08 which they said ok. The next day, a staff called my husband (who gave his mobile contact to the company) to say that the bed will be delayed to mid Dec 08. Thereafter, another staff called my hubby again to say that the bed could be delivered on time. My hubby found it fishy so we decided to go down to the place 30 Nov to trash things out. Another person inform us that the forest fire in US has distroyed the warehouse and Simmons is rushing out another batch, which should reach SIN sometime in mid Dec 08. We accepted the reason and instructed them to deliver the bed frame first on 5 Dec 08. However, on 1 Dec 08, another staff called to inform the delay in bed delivery to 24 Dec 08 and was again informed by my hubby to deliver the bed frame first. Then today, 3 Dec 08 a guy staff called to inform that the bed is not ready and need to delay delivery and my hubby ask him to find out from the other staff before talking to him. What kind of service is this?!! They don't seem to communicate at all and we have to instruct them again and again. Now we are at their mercy cos we have paid a deposit and have to wait for the bed. Please avoid this place at all cost if you don't want to be in our shoes!!

  13. I've already checked out Tame Production. They are slightly cheaper than Ezzi Living (for the above quote) but they latest pulley system is even more ex..! Finally I got another reasonable quote of $350 (with brackets) 5-pole up/down rope pulley from Super Laundry. I wouldn't spend too much on laundry system as my maid will be handling the laundry. They just don't know how to take care!
  14. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced indoor retractable laundry hanger? The ones I contacted cost around $460 + $75 (for bracket) for a 4 pole lift system type and $540 + $75 (for bracket) for 5 poles with individual pull chain. So ex meh??
  15. Can anyone PM me contact for a reasonable retractable indoor hanger, be it the lift type or individual pulling rope type? Only managed to obtain one quote for the 4 pole lift type with chain pulley which cost $460 + $75 for bracket! The 4 poles that comes with individual ropes also cost $480 + $75 for bracket. So ex!! HELP!!
