You might want to pick up the latest copy of ICI Dulux colour inspirations 2009 to get some inspirations. Your shoe cabinet is rather long, you have many shoes? What's the lenght from the main door (when it's fully opened) to the end of the bomb shelter? Is the length long enough for a full height shoe cabinet? Cos I still think if you place the L-shape sofa behind the shoe cabinet, the living will look smaller. As I don't like to see shoes once I enter into the living room and I'm the kind of person who like to have more floor area.

Hi Cuian01, Today we have our laminate floor installed. We are very glad and happy with the workmanship and we like the colour (wenge) and texture of the laminate floor. The brand is Vohringer. Now Before And even the raised platform in the MBR is finally covered.

Huh, the gate will rust? Really? I didn't ask I thought it will not rust. I better be careful then, as I'm the kind of person who like to clean my gate with wet rug. My gate design is in one of the page of that thick pocket file but it's in black and white photocopied A4 paper. I was looking for something simple and yet not too boring. After my door has been painted I will post another picture of the gate.

Hi Ylucy, You have a good layout. No funny or odd shaped bedrooms or living room. You can place your shoe cabinet on the right side of the main door (against the bomb shelter). Do you have any feature wall for the TV? You can put your TV console against bedroom 3 wall. Sofa opposite the TV console and dining table in the middle of the dining area. This is only some ideas I have for your layout.

The neighbour above my mother's unit will burn joss sticks every morning around 6 a.m. They placed the joss sticks holder outside their balcony (next to one of the hooks which HDB provided us to hang flag). Guess what will happen whenever they burn joss sticks? The ashes will fly into my mother's unit. My mother went up to talked to the uncle nicely and guess what was his reply? "What to do, there's nothing I can do about the ashes!" This uncle is a heavy smoker and he likes to smoke in the balcony and you could actually smell it at my mother's unit. Why there are such neigbours, only care about themselves! Super selfish!

Do you mind telling me how much did the ID quote you? What's the thickness of the laminate flooring? Are you doing it for the whole house expect kitchen. I contacted Pergo, Kronotex and Vohringer. They all using click system and provide warranty.

Hi Wifey, I finally got my gate installed today. Simple design. Yes, you are right! I also got 8 keys from them. MY ID will paint the main door to a darker brown colour and I believe this will make the sliver gate more outstanding.

Hi Priyalok, If you go directly to Supreme it will save you some money. As ID/contractor will charge you a few hundreds more. But you have one more thing to co-ordinate. As you have to call and make arrangement with Supreme on when to come and install the laminate flooring, when to deliver the laminate flooring (usually is one day before the actual installation date) and most important to arrange a time and date for both Supreme sales agent and you ID/contractor to meet (the ID might have some ideas on what colour is more suitable for your home theme). Beside these I don't see any reason why you can't go directly to Supreme. I also didn't go through the ID for my laminate flooring. I made all the necessary arragements and my laminate flooring will be installed tomorrow.
