  1. Easily stained are those polyester solid surface. Acrylic solid surface shouldn't have this problem. I did my daughter's study table with a curve from normal table height to bay window height and it looks great. Been a year so far so good
  2. caesarstone, silestone etc are high-end engineered compressed stones instead of solid surface. high-end solid surfaces are products like corian, LG. i personally still prefer acrylic solid surface over quartz (though quartz is hardier) because of the joint lines and that it can be repaired or extended in the future.
  3. i changed my existing kitchen top to a new LG solid surface top and retained my cabinet so ya it can be done
  4. back splash is normally attached to the kitchen top ah lol
  5. i find that the solid surface from LG is very durable and way more cleaner and hygienic than the rest, have used most of the different type of materials since I've renovated quite a few times. my sales personnel was very patient and re-quoted for me quite a few times
  6. solid surface would be the best since it doesn't absorb much moisture( cleaner & more hygiene ) and easy to maintain.
  7. well u could probably just paint the pvc itself which i did (to gold ) as for skirting, normally it would mean lesser work in a way because if there's no skirting, the edge at which the floor tiles meet the wall have to be done well if not the gap would be very obvious. though i prefer without skirting too haha cheers
  8. i agree with zirhk though, normally renovation contractors would already have "free id advice" though some dun reali comes up to standard. u might wan to look around more instead of havin to coordinate the renovation in the end if u get a FL and approach diff contractors. if u're interested, can pm u a few that i came across =]
  9. well as the title suggests, am deciding if i should close the deal with them after receiving their quotes. reasonable and i like their design. am wondering about the workmanship. has anyone engaged them before? apparently they deal with reno and graphic design and such, saw it at their website www.md2studio.com so any feedbacks ppl?
  10. hmmm, i got all my respond within a week, maximum 2 weeks. i agree tat t's better to get reno contractors than I.D firms. pricing wise pretty big diff
  11. have engaged wif rezt and relax before, overall was ok but pricing wise alil too steep le. if i nv rmb wrongly oso engaged wif u-home but wasnt reali comfortable because felt like was being pushed to accept their design =/ i ended up getting tis new reno company who my frenz recommended called md2, they went through numerous quotations with me n went down to my place. didnt had to confirm wif them anything beforehand unlike em.. darwin if i'm not wrong, bad experience =/ hope u hav fun doing up yr place =]
