  1. Ok, I make some noise.. heh Anyway, my Ariston storage heater is faulty.. as in, I switch on the main power, the switch indicator has its light on but the Ariston unit itself's light is not on. Erm, stupid question.. Who should I call? Ariston dealer? The shop in which I bought the Ariston unit from? Or the electrician? Hmm.. or the plumber?
  2. Heh, yah, true.. in that case, better save all the electricity I can first in prep for the hotter months ahead.
  3. Are the other blocks windy? Realized it's super windy over at 221A, and the wind is chilly kind~!
  4. Yah, called the karang guni contact I have but he dun want the rosewood altar and also he only wants cupboards with 2 doors. Thing is, Town Council will come carry the stuff from my place to downstairs, right? But what about dismantling the stuff? I've got alot of things which are all rusty and perhaps take a bull to unscrew it, and also a Cellini display shelf which needs dismantling.. Does the Town Council help in dismantling as well?
  5. Any idea where can I get those karang guni who can come up and see if they want some items I have in my old place? 1 is a rosewood altar and another is a solid teak wood cabinet which I seriously have no idea on how to dispose of even if the karang guni man doesn't want.
  6. Err... I didn't try this before because I jumped at my ID for not informing me to apply for screeding earlier so they did it for me free. Anyway, heard from my colleague that you can ask HDB for the contacts of the contractors doing the screeding and call them directly. My colleague asked the contractors when are they coming down and they said XX weeks later and asked her why, and she told them that she wanted to be around cos want to give them red packet for helping out. They came 3 days later. Am not too sure if this works not though.
  7. Oh my goodness, you ARE knowledgeable!! Anyway, think it's the water tank cos apparently my neighbour was complaining as well. Think would have to call HDB cos I remember many many years back at the old place, high water pressure was only limited to a few hours and it became much better after a complaint was made but have totally forgotten who to call. Perhaps make a visit down to the nearby HDB office..
  8. What other factors could there be? The water supply to the tap is also inconsistent.
  9. Does changing the showerhead work? Because the water pressure is simply sad at 221A, turned the thing at the water pipe outside but doesnt help. High pressure comes now and then only, but the water pressure in the master bedroom is better than outside, not sure if it's because I've changed the showerhead in there. Another thing, anyone activated their landline? It was supposed to be activated yesterday and when my sister called them today, they said it's because the mains are not switched on yet, Singtel would wait for HDB to switch on the main then they can activate my house phoneline.
  10. heh, yesterday moved in le..first night... heh, but one thing..the water pressure's crap even after tweaking the mains outside..
  11. Yup, have gotten the compressor for 4 units, and even 'upgraded' it to a higher btu or something. He didn't say cannot switch on 4 units at 1 go, he did mention that for a few hours, it is fine but it'd get taxing on the compressor if it is for long... so, guess pretty reasonable explaination. Anyway, good idea to be around when they are installing the aircon. Cos some of the guys might get lazy and perhaps test run it for 1 minute or so, make sure that there's air coming out and hoodwink my poor ole father to thinking that everything's fine and that they can go off already.. But anyway, nice cool air now !! Heh Btw, the carpark near 221A, the carwash uncle pretty pro eh, he has got his own lil corner with a desk too. Approached me yesterday and its S$40/mth; S$5/time. But I've got phobia against a pail of water to wash 10+ cars.
  12. Mitsubishi came and blamed it on Gain City. Gain City came and was commenting that if it's a leak in my living room aircon unit, it'd be tough cos I'd have to hack away all my stuff, including bits of the fake ceiling.. and I havent even moved in!! Luckily they found out that its a huge leak in the piping of the aircon unit in the master bedroom. And managed to rectify it (hopefully!).. The guy also said not to switch on all 4 units at one go, would spoil the compressor. Funny thing, if that's such a bad thing, why do they still sell 4 units to 1 compressor..
  13. heh, i'm quite smart! Though I didn't know which is 'ON' but I tried both directions and went to aircon and tried but still cannot. There's no sound coming from the compressor even, was thinking could it be that technology's that advanced and it's this silent now, but doubt so. But Mitsubishi's coming down later this afternoon..
  14. Heh, my father managed to get a ladder from the shops nearby. Haven't moved in yet and now my aircon's not working No sound from the compressor and the remote doesnt have lights (at the signal) and even manual on also doesnt work. Think Gaincity would be calling again later..
  15. Ok. Silly question. Anywhere around there sells ladders? Wanted to buy duing lunch earlier but abit embarassing to carry the ladder around and also, am not sure if the ladder (4-step) would fit into the car. Wanted the more stable ladder but its 3x more expensive than the normal ladder! Afraid that my parents might trip off the ladder or something..
