I think the bamboo partition is to ward off bad luck. My wifey knows the actual reason. In front of the partition, I was told to place elephants. I actually saw an idea at one of the interior design shop at tradehub 21. Hope to gather more ideas. They created a wooden box base (height about 3 feet). The bamboos (thin type) were line-up along the perimeter of the box and are of different heights. Quite nice I muz say. From afar, the bamboos are in their natural color. I trying to gather more ideas from anyone here.

My living room has 2 lighting points currently. Intend to replace one of them for the ceiling light. As such, I am thinking of getting one with lights. Nothing fancy ... juz light like the aroma series. etc. Hope I could find one

Last week, visited another jurong west place ... i think its 5 room. Near completion condition ... Tuesday visited another jurong west masionnette (modern concept). Yup Uncle Soon really, really bz. Apologies .. me wifey work till 9pm almost everyday. We had to arrange most of our meeting after every 10pm. Yup met up with him again last night to confirm the tiles and orientation we like. Muz comment on his professionalism. Before the laying of tiles ... Ah Soon would check out with us on how we like to lay them. He even suggested us to take a look at some customers place which he is doing now to have an idea on how to do them. Last night meeting with him was delayed as we were taking a look at a place in Jurong West before meeting him. Pics to come soon. Anyone any suggestion where I can look for ceiling fans. Omg... Been awhile since the server has been down. In fact felt pretty naked. Well engaged Ah Soon as my contractor. Thanks to pinkpetter recommendations. Choose our tiles today. Also purchased my hitachi sys 2 invertor from gaincity and had scheduled to be fixed up on 17 Mar. Also bought our mattress. Made a mistake of committing too early though. Will update details in future. Apart from all these purchases r countless recce to genting lane, macpherson, jalan besar, sg kadut. Many buys are still pending. Thus far... The dinner table we eyeball price quoted from $1000 (genting lane), $799 (little rd) to $680 (sg kadut). A little something I discovered. Popular items sold in GC are slightly cheaper compared to HN & B stores. Well hacking gotta start tomolo and sweet dream all.

A fast update after the dong tu .... met up with the FSM at twice. Once myself and the other with wifey together. Reason of the 2 x meetup, coz I had explained unclearly what the FSM to wifey. She felt the urgent need to hear from him. However, i was equally impressed with Lester Tan patient and professionalism. He related to my wife everything he had told me. In additional, he also went into details some inquiries which I never had bother asked. The virtues of a woman ... they go in the most of micro details. Am still in the process of hunting for a suitable contractor. My 1st quotation for works in the kitchen (about $210/psf) and bathroom areas led me to wonder how come the kitchen cabinet (going for L shape) would cost me so muz (Kitchen length is about 21 feet). Thought muz research had been done online ... I have managed to compiled quite a hefty details of the style of kitchen, toilets, lightings etc from this forum. Once again, thanks all forum contributors for their valuable inputs. I would still continue to compile the list until we finally settle for the RIGHT contractors. Cheers

I thought so too... Really muz ask again to check if the quotation is correct? Well when I asked ... contractor quoted for whole house change to stainless steel piping, should be in the range of $500. Frameless type ... i heard got many problems with the hinges. Correct me if I m wrong

Hi CybNox, Well hunting for quotations now. Am going to renov the kicthen and 2 toilets only. The serene enviroment and within buget was one of the reason we bought the Yishun Flat. Rest of the parts of the house are in pretty good conditions.... previous owner juz renovated not long ago themselves Thanks I welcome yr comments on the quotations i rx below. Hi all, Am back here. A question ... do paraqet floor go with the ceramic tiles that come with HDB. I meant the non glossy white based type. I am trying to sell the idea of laying paraquet floor in the bedrooms to wifey. Another qn is there much maintenance on the paraquet flooring? Meaning do they scratch easily and need to varnish? My daughter is still pretty young. Thanks for your replies

Sorry for the late update ... was too bz after the audit. A update of what went on yesterday. Before the meeting, was shopping around for the items needed. The list go below: 1) Pineapple 2) Green banana 3) Orange 4) White rice wine 5) 5 red cup 6) rice 7) rough salt 8) Dong Tu Kim Zua 10) Kim Zua 11) Dong Tu Incense 12) Scented Incense 13) Red color plate 14) Foil Tray for burining incense 15) Red candles 16) Tea bag Before entering the room, was asked to roll the pineapple into the house. Me 1st before wifey. Then the altar was setup by assistance while the FSM was chanting and sprinkle the rice, tea and salt mixture all around the house. Was surpised at how hard he throw the mixture all over the room while chanting. Then the FSM started examine the so call direction .... standing in front of the altar. During all this while .... I was pretty fasinated. Keke ... not the very holy type like my wifey. FSM was saying that a point in the house was not so good for me. Then the assitance and FSM started to light the incense while he instructed me to light the Dong Tu incense. After all the incense was lighted ... we were distributed with a set each (Oranges, scented incenses and a dong tu incense) , me placing one in front of the door and MBR while my wife in the kitchen and daughter's room. The room sets are to be placed below the lights. Keke ... after which the FSM reminded me on the no of incense balance left. Initially I was blurred ... huh? He reminded me again remember the no. After that I was instructed to burn the offerings while the FSM was advising my wife. They walked to every room ... noting down details in their copy of our floorplan. After I completed the offerings ... I was asked to read, if I remembered corrected part of Chap 23 or 24. In additonal, FSM informed us on the no. whereby the pineapple has been rolled upon. After the whole process finished. We were told to return to the FSM office on another day for details on how we should plan our reno. Definately a new experience for me. Felt abit disappointed coz need to meet again for FS details coz initially contacted a contractor to meet after the audit. Well guessed have to delay again. Thats what went on yesterday!
