i don't think you need $15k to reno, it's pretty much done up already! you may need more than $5k for furniture though. i will be blog my shoestring reno of 1+1 apartment after next week when everything is in place, look out for it!

prices at Poh Seng are definitely lower than those around like GR Link, Eng Soon Huat etc. unfortunately, i only found out last week after buying all my stuff from Eng Soon Huat. regret like ****. Poh Seng makes a marketing mistake by having all their price labels with GST prominently highlighted. the final price they charge actually do NOT include that GST. why do they scare off customers like that??? strangely their business appears quite poor compared to the other shops, despite the lower prices. anyway, i will be heading Poh Seng to buy my dish rack tomorrow.

i did. twice. very expensive. just had an unpleasant encounter with them today. told me in future they will charge 40% extra for rush job. i thought 4 weeks is considered normal, since mine is super basic - main things are 4 simple cabinets, painting, tiling, parquet polishing.

Seek treatment first please! FS can be done concurrently if funds allow. With good FS, any treatment will work better. My contractor said this range of paints amplifies the rough surfaces and any defects of the walls. it will not give the smooth effect unlike all other paints. Is this true? Any feedback appreciated, thanks!

i can only comment that: the price for your kitchen cement base of $480 is too high. should not be more than $180, unless your kitchen is HUGE! shower kerb price is also high. mine is $90 for more than 3 feet plus. parquet polishing seems high too. my contractor charging me two rooms for $400. mind you, my contractor is not known to be low price at all!

i picked light & space and my contractor strongly discouraged me (he even said this range may be discontinued soon). he said this range of paint will amplify the roughness of the wall surface. ie, wall will not looks creamy smooth. do you experience this?

ok the invoice just came. $550 to relocate (concealed), chemical wash and charge in gas to system. PM you number separately.

i just relocated my aircon unit today. i moved it about 1.5m away. cost $550 for concealed including chemical wash, cheapest i could find. the rest quoted me $700-$750. if you don't mind exposed piping, it's only $250 per unit. loads and loads of hacking, gosh it was soooooo dusty. didn't know it's so lei-che.

i bought from AA lighting shop at geylang lorong 25 i think. they sell look-a-likes at much lower prices than those at balestier (with the exception of lightings.com.sg at balestier, which offers really attractive pricing). AA lighting very good service. Note that they close on Sundays though.

what about fumigation smell? i am equally concerned about that

would you know if this so-called air-tight rubbish chute can prevent those fumigation smell from coming in? have you used this chute before?
