i don't know how many type of wines swissotel has leh. our co-ordinator only recommended us this brand. but we only can find at carrefour and 1 of the wine cellars. other places cannot find liao.

but hor, we can only find the wine at carrefour. supermarket like NTUC, giants, cold storage etc don't have leh.

oriental got wavie the corkage for wines meh?? how come in the link below stated "SGD 25.00 per bottle will be levied for wine and champagne brought in for consumption during the wedding celebration"?? http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hotel/509000282.asp i think she saw wrongly liao lah. you click on the link i shown you above. if oriental has such perk then they'll spoil the hotel market. there's association who control such alcoholic drinks. good for you! oriental excludes printing of inserts whereby swissotel includes the printing of inserts. wow, free! how come oriental doesn't have complimentary valet parking for bridal car? so where do you park your bridal car?

of course, checked with supermarkets and private cellars lah. aiyo! it's more ex to buy from outside. swissotel will charge corkage for wines brought from outside. swissotel only waives corkage for all duty-paid hard liquor.

your wife is a smart woman! yup, nowadays people like to drink wine. not true. we checked the wine the hotel offers us and they're more expensive if we were to buy from outside. it's cheaper to buy the wines from the hotel. the hotel isn't stupid leh if they know you can get cheaper outside.

our wedding banquet is on sunday. if weekdays, then may afraid some people may not be free to attend. eventually, afraid may make a huge lost. yup, we're attracted by swissotel the stage deco. we'll be getting the red wines from swissotel b'cos if we were to buy from outside and there'll be charges from the hotel. yup, i know about increase the credit limit. but the problem is my hb doesn't want to use credit cards. he wants to pay using cheque so up to him lor. as long as we can settle the full payment to swissotel 7 days before the wedding then ok liao lor.

our BS package is $3288. my wedding, evening gowns and tea dress are MTM. there're also another OTR wedding and evening gowns for outdoor PS. my hb's suits are MTM and OTR. mercedes bridal car + car deco for 1 main car and 2 following cars. trial, day and evening make-up. there're many more lah... etc etc etc. we aren't rich lah. work hard and save hard! haha.

"you're able to use credit card or cash to make the payment on the actual wedding day, however 7 days before your wedding, you're required to extend your credit card limits and you've to give your credit card details to the hotel to serve as a guaranteed. No cheque allowed on the actual wedding day. you're required to make the full payment either by cheque or cash 7 days before your wedding starts." this is what we were being told leh. haha. so can use cheque! if we want to pay using cheque then we must pay the hotel 7 days BEFORE our wedding! we need to fork out our own $$$ first. yup, my hb is paying for everything. from wedding banquet to BS. he'll also give my family's side about 10 or more tables.

i think we can't use post dated cheque b'cos swissotel needs to make sure the cheque doesn't bound back and they also want to make sure they got the $$$ BEFORE the wedding.

no lah, we don't want to use our credit cards to pay. we knew that we can call up the bank to increase the credit limit. but my hb prefers to pay using cheque. the credit cards points don't matter much to him b'cos he had ever accumulated quite a lot liao.

yours is still early. you can start to book around aug or sept. 1 year in advance! swissotel doesn't allowed you to settle the full payment AFTER your wedding. you must settle the full payment A FEW DAYS BEFORE your wedding. which mean we've to fork out $$$ first lor. cannot count ang bao liao then settle. can settle in cash, cheque or credit cards. i think most probably we settle using cheque.

even if hb and i are poor, we also try not to use our parents' $$$. we'll feel bad lor. it's our own matter so we must settle ourselves and we don't want to bother our parents. our parents had work hard for so many many years liao so it's time to let them enjoy life liao. !! from buying car, house, reno, wedding, BS etc we didn't ask our parents for a single help. it's YOUR WEDDING! of course, most impt is you all must be happy with it mah. btw, yours is 8 course dinner menu (weekday), right? ours is 9 course dinner menu (weekend). we chosen the menu with shark fin soup and whole pieces of abalone. i saw some hotels only have shredded or sliced abalone so cannot really taste/eat the abalone. swissotel is quite strict with the perks. they don't have free flow beer. they only give you about 20 litre of beer and if you need more beer than have to pay according to glasses. they only provide free flow of soft drink and chinese tea. they also provide free printing of the invitation cards.

at least, you still have your parents to help you with the house. we paid the house ($360K) and reno ($20k cash) ourselves b'cos our parents are old liao so we don't want to use their $$$ anymore. they should keep the $$$ for themselves. we should give them $$$ and not use their $$$ lor. this is what hb and i think lor. your wedding is on weekday huh. how much after the ++? ours is on weekend. !!

i don't know whether it was the lighting a not b'cos i took it at a wedding show organised by mediacorp at swissotel the stamford. the lightings can be adjusted if you request. the table centrepiece is a crystal deco. ya, the personal wedding concierge provides by swissotel the stamford is a very nice thought from the hotel. the hotel makes the wedding couples feel impt.

you don't have to like my theme b'cos different people have different taste. i also may not like your theme if i were to see the real thing b'cos too plain liao. maybe taste is different. btw, the lights can be adjusted. swissotel the stamford has so called "smart lighting" in the ballroom so you can choose. i don't know whether more ex a not b'cos i didn't even look at oriental wedding packages! haha! my hb doesn't like oriental lor. my hb's brother's wedding was held at oriental many years ago so hb wants something different. swissotel the stamford has increased the prices so i'm unsure how much now.
