actually, neogarden has 2 type of buffet styles. w/warmer or w/o warmer. w/warmer = with fire to heat up the food. w/o warmer = no fire to heat up the food. if we choose w/warmer then neogarden will provide tables for us to put the buffet. then we've to put the tables into the house (our house is big enough to put the tables). we dont like that bcos we dont want the tables to spoil our flooring. the legs of the tables are made of metal so if put into the house then we afraid the legs will spoil our flooring. usually, we chose w/o warmer and the buffet still could be kept warm. no worry about that. what we did every year was that we told our guests to come at 5.30pm (our guests were punctual) but informed neogarden to deliver the buffet around 6pm (neogarden was very punctual). during the half an hour time interval (from 5.30pm to 6pm), those guests who had arrived could chat/watch tv then on the other hand also can wait for everybody to arrive. usually, we didnt have problem with this arrangement between our guests and the buffet. in this way, the buffet could be eaten warm + no need to put the metal legs tables into the house + the buffet could be placed onto our dining table! one stone kills 3 birds! i also agreed it's too ugly to put the buffet outside the corridor. we prefer everything to be done inside the house. -

are you going to put your house warming buffet spread along the corridor? actually, you can put the buffet spread in your house and onto your dinner table. every year, we would have families xmas gatherings and we ordered buffet from neo garden (same for our house warming). we always put the buffet spread onto the dinner table. our dinner table is 6 seater and already enough to put everything onto it. the buffet spread we ordered was quite a lot; about 9-10 dishes. our guests didnt have problem getting the food at all. i feel not presentable to put the buffet spread along the corridor. the only thing we put outside is shoes racks. strictly no shoes are allowed in the house bcos smelly and dirty. we put all the shoes outside the shoes racks; regardless expensive or cheap shoes. -

i also dont know how come their mop is so long. hahaha. we've service balcony mah so their mop reached our service balcony windows. you know lar, china PRs are usually very inconsiderate. but when we scolded them and they didnt even dare to quarrel back. they just said ok ok. i can say all the neighbours on our floor are usually quite clean and corridors are usually empty. -

no, we didnt invite our neighbours for house warming. we only invited families. but our EA unit neighbours (the couples's in laws) ever came into our house to see the decoration. -

but hor, if i were you then i cant tahan lor. my hb also cannot tahan lor. we'll sure talk to them and if the problems still persist then we'll make a complaint to TC. oh ya, our upstairs neighbours are china PR and they used to hang their mop until the mop reached our windows. my hb and i went upstairs and talked to them several times. initially, we talked nicely to them but no improvement from them so eventually we scolded them and now no mop liao. hahaha. our upstairs the corridor lagi worst! we saw there're so many children toys cars when we went upstairs to look for the china PR neighbours. luckily, we arent staying upstairs. -

we encountered some problems with our neighbours too. we've 6 units (2 EA, 2 5rm and 2 4rm) on each floor. but the 6 units are divided into 2 separated areas. which means when we walk out from the lifts, 3 units on the left and another 3 units on the right. therefore, our corridors are shared among a 4rm unit, a EA unit and ours EA. it's still not so bad. initially, the 4rm unit used to display her plants outside the corridors but when she noticed we started moving in liao and she also removed most of her plants too; now she only has left one plant. we're quite appreciated with her considerate action. the 4rm unit family doesnt have small kids bcos all her children have grown up. so, we arent worried about problems with kids. as for the EA unit, the family only has one primary or secondary kid and the kid is well-behaved therefore no problem again. they dont have plants but just a small shoes rack. so we're ok with our neighbours lor. our unit has the most spaces for the corridor therefore we've 2 shoes racks outside the house! haha. it's good that you and your hb talk to the neighbours first and if the problems still persist then complaint to town council. -

i guess pregnancy can be controlled lor. it depends on the couples whether they want to do that a not. some people probably just give birth blindly. -

yup, agreed. when your finanical is stable liao then can start to plan for babies. i've came across a teenager couples and they were shot-gun so bo bian got to marry. after their first child was born liao then 1-2 years later and their second child came along. my first impression was, "wow manz, so fast! can they afford a not?!" it doesnt mean i looked down on them but they're still very young and they're staying in those 1 rm hdb flat. how can they manage? my hb and i are much older than them; we havent even want to plan for babies yet and moreover my hb and i had married earlier than them. -
going to US is so troublesome huh. my sis in law and her family are going to US for holidays end of this year.

even if you're a bit meaty but at least you're tall so not a problem. some people who are short and meaty then more worst.
