hihihi - I have this feeling he won't dismantle and repaint or dip or whatever. The most he'll come and sand and respray. And will say it's our fault that's it coming off (cuz we got Henry to come in to finish his ****). de_Pierre - Hey! How are you? Sorry I went MIA for a while cuz was having a bad time with the stupid contractor. Now that he's out of my life, I'm much happier!! Supplier is Wan Sern Metal. I think they are quite well-known... don't think there's anything wrong with the quality. Even Henry's using them. It's my contractor lah, sub-standard. I am almost 99.99999999% sure it's him loh. ryan13680 - Should be included? If not, really must smack him liao. I think my wrought iron costed me $900++. summerholiday - For my situation, do galvanised first or spray/paint first? Cuz now that the color is up, not sure if advisable to do galvanised??

Ideal House Id
Ami replied to kajua's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
I have asked for a quotation from Andy a few weeks back after hearing good ratings for Ideal House here at Renotalk. First impression - very young, not sure if can handle. Scheduled to come down the next day after a quick chat over the phone. Gave alot of practical advices for our carpentry works. Provided quotation in a week, slightly higher than expected. Followed up few days later but was not selected as they seemed to have alot of projects on hand and may not be able to hand-over in time for our wedding. Overall would still consider if not rushing for time. Andy left a pretty good impression on us. -
I am planning to do that, but not sure if he's willingly to do so.

pinkpetter - Yes, very unhappy. His workmanship is really very bad, am very unpleased with the works and services. But because his son is also in the renovation business (and in the same office at Beauty World - very obvious hint!!), it would seems unfair to drag him into this whole affair. The quality is bad (everything seems to be falling apart though we have yet moved in), his attitude is bad (when we ask him to rectify some works, he will find excuses and say it's not his fault. Eg: His plumber broke the basin and when confronted, say it's our aircon people or even us who broke it!! And before we signed on the dotted line and paid him, he said if the tiles we choose is of a smaller value, he will refund. But when we really did choose something that is cheaper, he said "oh! it's actually GST so no refund." And the list goes on and on... johnnyong Not Henry from Impress21. Am pleased with his workmanship and service. Thumbs up! Check your inbox pertaining to the question you asked.

I also renovated a 25 years old flat just recently. Based on your requirements, it's like hacking the whole house and rebuilding it. It's gonna cost a bomb though it sounds like basic renovations... If you already have a design in mind, go for a contractor. If no idea, go for an ID but price will be higher by 5% maybe? My renovation costed me $37,000 but should be cheaper if I just stick to one contractor. Too bad for me, I met a very sucky and dishonest one that I had to terminate his service.

Can anyone please post pictures (close-up) of their wrought iron? I really feel like asking my contractor to tear down the wrought irons, either redo (but no confidence in him anymore!!!!!!) or just deduct and I'll get Henry to do it instead.
-
I will full charge my digital camera today and take many many pictures to show off tomorrow. LOL.
-
Wow... Henry is really doing an awesome job on our flats. My hubby just called, said he's very pleased with the quality. Can't wait to go down and see tomorrow!!!

We used Whitelink, not the cheapest and not the best. But is good enough for us. The photography is superb! Very natural shots. I would also suggest Bridal Concept if you have a budget. Say on a budget of $3.5k, ask for a wedding package $1k and below. So when you need any additional pictures, it's still within the $3.5k budget! Planning is very important...

Seaview - Love your toilets! Got the high-end luxury suites feel. zuki32 - I like yours too! Good selection in the accessories... very modern yet cosy feel. lynglyng - I got quoted $550 for the common toilet but not sure if it's sliding. Wall to wall.

You must get your contractor/ID to indicate price of the wall and floor tiles, the max amount you are entitled to choose. Now may look cheap but if they tell you can only choose tiles below $2.50psf, that's very risky cuz the nicer tiles we saw ranges between $3psf to $3.80psf. You may have to top up quite a bit if that's the case. Windows quite expensive. Mine whole house plus wrought iron for living and common about $2,200. And tempered glass shower screen at common at $550. But carpentry pricing looks okay.
-
Your tempered glass will be installed where? Mine is the whole piece inbetween the top and bottom cabinets. Henry quoted me $550.
-
Upgrade? As in the pipes? Is it free, cuz I got mine at $0 cost.
-
That's what my friend said so too! By the way, what's the color of the base? Rusty color? Cuz I saw after the peeling, it was a bit browish inside. Contractor installed a design we didn't choose, but accepted nevertheless cuz rushing for wedding in end December 2008. Worried he might have used 2nd or even 3rd hand one... by the looks of it.
-
3 months top up? Won't that be very smelly????? Henry just started, installations will be done this week. I will post pictures as soon as I do my first site inspection since he told over!!

I am one also. But I read somewhere... if you feel hot/humid, must bathe in warm/hot water then will be cooler. If you bathe in cold water, will lagi hot! Don't know true anot, but works for me!

Nice!! Love your kitchen (it's like saying I love my own kitchen)! Cuz... I am doing black+white+red & tempered glass for my kitchen also!! And I went to Singapore Flyer last Saturday also, courtesy of ST Electronics!

Wooo... I like the tank and the lights. Very nice... I am impressed lah, I don't have the energy to care for the fishes after a hard day work, on weekends especially! Is it gonna be very hard to maintain?
