  1. Notice that your son's bed is custom made, I actually went to Starville to do some viewing there after seeing your pics. Looking for a unit there. Overall not a bad development.
  2. Nice house, GREAT East Coast living, do you cycle to the park at Bayshore?
  3. Erm, in major renovation and construction, material costs is not everything, I recently had major renovation done on my landed home, contractor estimated about one month to complete but later faced many difficulties and redoing of work, later the project dragged on to about three months, at that rate, his four workers at about $1500 each, from $6k+ ballooned to about $18k, so I really felt sorry for him, last I heard from the tile supplier was that my contractor's check bounced. Ha Ha your list sound more like in C.O.'s favour.
  4. You did not notice the widescreen TV on top?
  5. Sure regret after a while if you have to climb in and out of the bathtub just to shower. Unless your bathroom is large enough for the bath and shower area to be seperate, I don't think bath tub is a good idea, especially when you get older.
  6. Can you actually give stats on private house break ins? I have not seen anything on landed homes being broken-into in the papers for many years, Singapore is actually very safe. The way you post is like break ins in private property in SG is a daily affair, you selling something? Actually a simple good motion detector at all major entry points hooked up to lights to a loud siren with security stickers in Singapore would virtually make your landed home a fortress.
  7. Hate to say this, but I support you. I hope this helps to get things off your chest. We can't be politically correct all the time, or else our health suffers.
  8. Best if you can inform paper vendor to stop subscription for the days you are not around, saves money too. As for throwing papers onto the porch, it is only good if your driveway is not too long. There is no way the vendor can throw the paper in the porch if driveway too long as in many semid D homes and larger.
  9. Try not to do open out, my parents home did rebuilding at basement, they refused to listen to me and made the two bedrooms and toilet doors all open out, now regret, it looks very ugly and messy. They are now going to redo the doors to open in and decorate their room accordingly.
  10. You guys very cruel, make your news vendors throw here and there, must ask them charge extra I still think a nicely cut tube made from PVC Pipe and painted appropriately to match the gate is nice, or design a newsapaper slot into the gate pillar itself.
  11. Mine is glazed roof tiles so far so good, yeah agree must put insulation.
  12. Correct me if I am wrong but if you factor in the monthly installments A is negative. A $900k loan over 25 years, yearly installment is $36k. A invested $100,000 on the property and generate a return of $60K-5.95K-25K-36k = -6.95k per year ie. negative returns. B $500k loan over 25 years, yearly installment is $20k B invested $500,000 on the same property generate a return of $60K-7.82K-14K-20k= 18.8k per year or about 3% returns. B looks better off.
