hehe.... not me... i very lazy... i got a friend doing civil engineering... so i got "expertise help" LOL...... she come with a "metal stick" and just knock knock pock pock and tada.... even the blue stickers are provided by my fren....

really ar... their work is so bad? guess i will know in no time... my parq really hollow till i . so when they say can re-do everything, i just let them do lor. But i will push them one. 2 mths plus is abit too much. anyway i will only officially move in in may/june next year. hehe.. so i calculated, still have time to let them do the parq lorx...

Have u reported ur defects? actually i think they are quite fast (maybe not as slow as i imagined)! LOL. Within a short while, they hacked the hollow walls and parq le... just that they say the parq will take 2 mths plus!! Latest on 2nd Oct: They patched up the wall already. Kitchen tiles up already 1st row's tile at entrance changed new homo tile **** (look at the white grout. from afar, u already know its a new tile) "beautiful grout" which they refuse to re-do for me. these 2 times i dropped by were at night and i only have a small lamp there. so i can only see the things they do, but i cant really check whether they did a good job. Will have to find a weekend to go down and check. heehee.

Went up to the house to check on HDB's rectifying progress on 28 sept... and the following were done. Pretty massive works in progress................ Hollow walls were hacked All parquet flooring hacked to make space for new ones.... HDB contractor called me a few days later after i submit the defect list and confirmed that there were too many hollow parq... so they have to hack and re-lay but will take 2 mths plus cos they out-source the parq work to another firm.... Halo everyone! Just figured out how to set up this reno blog... heehee... Collected keys on 8 Sept 08, but carried out the checks only on 14 sept and submitted a whole list of defects to HDB. Just some photos of the defects to keep the ball rolling.... Hollow parq all over in the 3 bedrooms: Hollow walls & cracks: Rusty/old towel hanger Rust stain on sink Corroded waterproofing of shower screen (the rubber is sticky already) Hollow tiles in living Kitchen tiles: hollow + long crack (marked by the cross) Kitchen floor tiles: hollow + with paint marks These are just a summary of the defects we found... Haiz.. guess its cos the flats here were left vacant for so long... the officers say the hollow parq is cos of expansion & contraction and the windows were closed.. To rectify, the officer say they will use injection method to treat the larger affected areas. This method does not treat the smaller patches.....

Ya! now everyday do homework!! Spoke to ids.. each talk really 2-3hrs, and meet each id twice (once to share idea on wat we want and another to get quotation) really brain dead after each session. LOL. Shld be gg down to expo to pay my deposit to a ID tml liao.... den at least settle ID first and end the ID search. My ID search lasted a month. LOL. Then next will be getting aircon, fridge & washing machine so tat can give ID measurements ba.. hee.. One step at a time...

Rumi, thanks for the aircon link! Btw, anyone had ventilation fan installed? Any contacts to share? But i had 1 ID telling me that as we only have 1 row of glass louvre window in the bathroom, HDB dont allow a ventilation fan to be fitted... =X

Have been talking to IDs also. Can be tiring cos every talk is a few hrs... lol... My unit is the slant living, corridor. Hacking the mbdr wall to do walk in wd. I am thinking of having aircon in my rooms+living room. Is it more suitable to get a system 4 aircon or a system 3+system 1 or system 3+system 2? Am pretty confused abt this aircon thingy. Appreciate any help that comes along! Thank you!!!

The ID was saying he applied the hacking permit for another unit (i never ask which flr), hdb ask for pe for that wall. so he was saying that he tell us first so that we will be "mentally prepared" that we might need to obtain pe endorsement and pay for it. LOL. I hope to start my T-blog soon too... Will try to figure out how to first...

Stay, yup, i checked for hollow parquet just like checking for hollow tiles. Use a rod or anything to knock the tiles, can hear the difference.... and when i walk on the parq, can hear creaking sound lor! den i back trace and knock ard that area. =X I am hacking the master/living wall to make space for walk in wd.. One ID say he did the same over at our area and HDB asked for PE endorsement, which costs 300+ to be borne by owner. Is it true? rdnest, can u share with me ur contact for the window grilles? thanks!

Just a summary of the defects here: -cracks/scratches on main door -cracks/scratches/misalign for 3 rooms' doors -watermarks seen at corner of a few windows (might indicate water seepage) -Window's latch stuck, cant open window (push out panel) -warp glass ****'s bottom window -most parquet tiles are hollow (all 3 bedrooms) we had stickers all over the floor -hollow tiles in living/kitchen -crack on walls (living/2 bedrooms) -shower screen's rubber/waterproofing corroded (become sticky) -long line of crack at kit wall -letterbox cant open at all (key just wun turn) -hollow walls (liv/all bdrms) -rust stains on vanity top Wahaha.. and some some things like masking tape's stickyness cant remove, rusty/needs polishing for the metal pieces at the mirrors/towel hanger etc, paint on outer panel of window... Didn't manage to ask them to redo my grout. But anyway, they already hack out all my parq and will be re-laying them (all 3 rooms). But they say will take 2mths plus. =?
