wahahaha no la, just a metal rod, like a pointer. can extend and retract back, with a metal ball at the tip. Just made it easier to knock against tiles to hear the sound difference, compared to using your knuckles... =) nothing magical though. lol.

Just went to Gain City Expo & paid deposit for: LG System 3 Non-inverter (R22) 3 x 9BTU, 5 yrs extended warranty @ $1699 + $180 (1/2" & upgrade copper 23) - for 3 bdrms Mitsubishi System 1 (R410) 1 x 18BTU, 5 yrs extended warranty @ $1250 + $70 (1/2" & upgrade copper 23) - living/dining areas 2 times installation + $84 ** compressor sit on ledge, power point to be provided by owner & 16mm drainage pipe** Reasonable? Ok or not huh.... really dunno much abt aircon... sweat....

Hey sianz its ok! i am gg thru the same too.. have been calling them up to rush them.. emailed to the tecnical officer from HDB too... Will drop by to see wats the progress for my defects tml morn. If still not ok den have to arrange for a joint insp with the HDB technical officer, contractor etc... when to expo gain city fair today. purchased a system 3 (3x9btu) LG non-inverter for the bdrms and a mitsubishi system 1 non-inverter (18btu) for the living... Dunno whether its a good choice, really quite a noob on aircon issue... =(

sianz, u will be able to hear the difference when u get to a hollow part. the sound is different... hmm.. hard to describe.. but dun worry. just go and knock and u will know. use something to knock. a rod or i know some people use a coin. using ur knuckles is gg to be tiring and frustrating. lol. i knock a few parq and my knuckles pain liao.

i use a metal rod, like a pointer one, with a ball at one end... and just tap on the wall. so u can try to get something to knock on the walls, just like how u check for hollow tiles. =) need help let me know. i can see when i am gg down to my unit. maybe this weekend.

I just went up to take a look. The skirting is exactly the same!!!!! They didnt do any touch up! Called the BSC and asked the contractor ah-ong to come up. He still tell me all done!!!! the doors haven varnish & paint yet, the peep hole is still missing, the warp windows still unchanged. The skirting, he keep saying he will ask the parq guys again. he say have to check with the ppl doing. Shower screen waterproofing corroded also not changed. He say the shower screen guy say not their prob... so i guess they just push the blame here & there. Cant make up their mind who is responsible for what... I am gg to write an email in. Anyway i arranged for a window grille uncle to come and take measurement just now. hee. meeting up with my ID next weekend, so will take quite some time to have progress in the house..

I also dunno wat they did to my living skirting.... so black now... BUt we actually think its quite nice. wahahaha. They put a layer of varnish or lacquer over the parq... think is batch of parq is really U-G-L-Y..... the colours are so uneven and there are lots of blackish green patches all over. THE WORST IS: does not blend with the skirting!!!! Look at the very ugly skirting..

Went up yesterday and today to check on the progress..... Yesterday: New parq laid but colour was VERY light, not compatible with the skirting Main Door: Grout fell out?? I dunno what they did to my grout.. i complain dirty & stains, now is still dirty but realised a lot of places where the grout fell out.. Can i settle this on my own? den i dun have to rely on HDB.

HDB shall knows how to make money.. still do our rectification with cheapo materials. 30k more everytime they release the units. faints. I am gg up to my unit tml to see wat progress is made... **cross fingers**

Halo!!!!!!!! hard to comment on ID cos i think ultimately, u have to see who u r comfortable with and u can look at their portfolio... see which firm can provide the closest to wat u look for in a dream hse.. i spoke to 6 firms and immediately discarded 2 of them.. den with the other 4 quotes, realised by chance that one of which is very dishonest. So with the remaining 3, me & htb discussed, look at quote & material provided and came to a conclusion. Hee... Good luck!!

I heard living skirting supposed to be hollow? my room skirting changed all, cos they changin the parq ma... heehee.. i just called the hdb office to ask when will my parq be done.. to my surprise, she say lay parq this sat!! yeah! will try to go down on sunday to check... hee... she say next week do my doors. my 3 rooms' doors all misalign when closed.

My main door got long crack lines too.. But i think they are only gg to sandpaper & vanish... Erm... Dunno y my unit is so bad... I can borrow the stick from my fren and u can use to knock knock... just a metal stick with a ball at the end... wahaha... PM me lorx... I must really find time to go down and take a look.. drop by twice at night so pitch dark tat i cant see on site too. only can take the pic with camera flash...
