  1. Thanks ....more pics coming soon Thanks Budget way mah Thanks Its nothing fancy....it comes with 2 big transparent suction pads at the back, so just stick it on any smooth surfaces. Found at Sheng Shiong Tekka for $2 + -.....got lots more varieties there...bigger store ma. My dining table was bought from Interni ( closed shop liao ) about 9 years ago . Its an Italian designer table from BRO, and costs me $1,800...1.8m white carrara marble top. I think it was expensive as not many white marble table tops available then....now you see a lot more , and cheaper too I think. Thanks

  6. Hi mwerkz, Just my opinion, I would go for white..you have a lot of red and black. White is more neutral and can tone down those 2, and makes your kitchen brighter and inviting, and your countertop would appear to flow continuously from the floor to the ceiling. Besides your sides of cabinet near your hood also white...so more balanced.
  7. DAY 60 cont Minor touchups and rectifications were done during the past week, however I didnt like the lower glass panel of the top cabinet....it creaks on opening and closing ( despite spraying WD40 )and movement isnt smooth. I feel its the cheapo hydraulic arm used for that panel..even though it soft closing unlike the upper glass panel. Last week, one part of the hinge came loose when a screw popped out! Initially I wanted to use the BLUM Aventos bifold system, but the carpenter said cannot be done now as the shelf will be in the way of the mechanism, so the other solution would be to use one glass panel instead. So the new panel installed ... There is sufficient head clearance, and easy to reach the panel. Stuffs can be easily accessed as well.. ( note: caninet not organised yet...stuffs are just dumped inside ) Mechanisms used...the bottom BLUM damper added for soft closing, and it works rather well. (Notice this damper is not aligned properly just like the other side...need to rectify) The other damper...(only noticed when I stood on a chair )..will need to call Henry to rectify But otherwise, the panel is perfect - soft closing and quiet and best of all, no top up Ha ha...must be objective mah ..but its acceptable for me and to my satisfaction
  8. Yes I would say 99% seamless...still can see a bit if you look very very hard
  9. Hi, Nice layout Btw, your basin mixer is the one I am using for my kitchen sink ..I thought its for kitchen sinks because it can swivel mah. I supposed you are mounting the tap on the longer side of the sink Have you started on carpentry yet on the kitchen? Do you need 4 narrow drawers in the drawing? Your stove is very close to your fridge....is it feng shui taboo? More pics pls
  10. DAY 60 Works: --Final rectification and handover --Siliconing of mirrors LG Hi Macs recitfied...although it is hardly "seamless" only if one look very very hard..but otherwise cannot really tell..The LG guy said it was due to the adhesive or something BEFORE AFTER rectification..to b e fair, its quite well done, had to shift to catch the right angle to really see the "joint" ..( to the left of the coin ) LG solid surface done to my satisfaction Hi, Here's their website http://www.jinsbrother.com/ Speak to Irene 9624 9728...I did mine for $650. As mentioned before, there are cheaper deals which uses China diamond powder...you should find out more, and decide on what you want..
  11. Hi, my mirrors cost me $850...yes, I do that too, last minute check before I am out the door Thanks...I love it too Thanks You should compare prices first. Thanks My hood is from EF...9401....its the telescopic one, paid $195. Its tucked in when not in use...neater, and just pull out when you need; plus easier to maintain...and cheap too There's a slimmer one...but it protrudes out, so collect dust lor, and slightly more ex.
  12. Hi, I dont know what they call it...could be a loft , whatever not penthouse la. It took quite a while...almost like shopping for contractors Yes..I will be updating soon...been quite busy Ya..condo. No..only the dining area....had to compare prices ma. you can check with them for quotation. You can try How Yan Glass Mirror Merchant ( reasonable quotation ), or Mirror made for U for price comparisons..std 6mm plywood and 5mm mirror glass. Had a peek at your toilets...looks great with those fancy tiles...looking forward to the completed project...didnt have time to go through yet but will soon Hi, Great! You can ask Henry for advice...He got his carpenters to help me silicone the doors, which was peeling off already, and also touched up on the stainless steel backing...no problem lei. Perhaps you can post pics of the problems as to understand the extent of the situation better and get advice. Will check out your blog
  13. Yes mirror makes the space looks bigger You are very observant I love the high ceilings, its hard to come by nowadays...it makes the place roomier! ..which is why no false ceilings for me. My ceiling is 3.3 m high throughout except the kitchen and toilets ( original), and the living is 9 m high!
  14. DAY 57 Works: --Mirror Installation Its been almost 2 weeks since they did the measurements... and today is installation. I engaged Sen Glass Specialist ...they are the very same ones who did all the glass at T3...very impressive. They do glass sliding doors as well...around the same price as what Henry did for me, could discount since I am doing mirror too ..they also have DORMA mechanisms too..slightly more exp. Okay...its 6 mm plywood backing ( actually it varies from 5 to 5.5 mm...I measured ), and 5 mm mirror glass. It has to be in 3 pieces..due to lift constraints. Fitting the plywood and over the socket cutout Drilling in the plywood backing 2nd piece of backing up, and fitting the 3rd piece as there's a dimmer switch cut out... Adhesive tape on the plywood, and the plywood skirting for mirror support Fitting the 1st mirror, using laser device to check the vertical line DAY 57 cont Fitting the 2nd piece..you can see the laser device with red beam on Completed mirror installation and secured with tape They will be back a few days' time to silicone the edges as they need to wait for the adhesive to set first.
  15. Thanks! Glad to know you like it. Yes it is...a nice and tranquil area.....air is fresh and cool too More pics to come
  16. UPDATE ON BLUM Lobang Finally happened to find another authorised BLUM dealer, along Upper Bukit Timah Road. Kiang Sing Hong Hardware Supplies 828, Upper Bukit Timah Rd Tel: 67600365 Its located just beside the condo, the LINEAR...in those 2 storey shophouses. Was looking for some rubber plugs for my chairs, and had to compare prices for BLUM ma cheaper than what I bought from Shanghai Tong Lee! The hinge set costs about less than $4, and the 500mm full extension runners was around $36 ( exc GST )..almost $10 cheaper for the runners! Mr Ang said these are contractors' price...I didnt even had to ask! BTW, there will be a price increase soon, he showed me the list and the runners will have a price increase of 35%! So for those of you who are contemplating BLUM, go check this place out.
  17. Thanks! so much better than the old kitchen I dont think it costs alot more vs tiling or tempered glass. If I were to do glass backing, Henry said I still have to tile that area where the steel backings are, costs savings zero! If no tiles there, very minimal savings...labour costs is high. Thanks! Cheapo way of doing things...renew and rejuvenate...polish, paint .... Thanks! More pics to come.....as for living and dining, no reno done, just rearrange furniture and WASH curtains and sofa fabrics, also look as good as new Thanks again! Henry gave me a choice of either tempered glass or stainless steel, both at same price. The 2 stainless steel backings costs $780. Will post the final total damage when completed. Stay tuned
  18. DAY 50 cont AFTER Mirror frame painted (a mirror cabinet would have costs close to $800 ) and top mounted sink and new mixer tap. the plumbers took great care to centre the new basin over the hole in the marble top ( the old sink was not dismantled )...he actually measured the distance, and seeked my approval first before sealing with silicone! AFTER AFTER Under cabinet doors painted with new s/s handles AFTER New shower set except shower head...useful tray included ( no need to drill more holes to install ) AFTER WC with new accessories Costs for this toilet makeover: Labour costs to install basin, tap, WC and accessories ( items bought separately ) $160 Painting and marble polishing included in the reno..so overall, quite "cheap"
  19. DAY 50 cont Master Bathroom - BEFORE Undermount sink Door WC Cabinet doors AFTER AFTER Painted door
  20. Hi raejan13, Thanks! Moved in liao...but its still messy and dusty, and a lot of work to do still...unpacking and organising the stuffs... just dumped all the crockeries and kitchen stuffs into the kitchen cabinet to clear away the boxes on the floor! I just painted the inner frame white, the outside is still green, too lazy to bother with the rest,...save money ma , mine is only a budget makeover
  21. Wowww!!! Very nice interesting blog..I must add...a lot of effort put in, and a balanced view of your renovation. Great job!
  22. DAY 50 cont The kitchen finally ...though still not complete without the hobs, and not cleaned up yet Kitchen before Kitchen AFTER Sink area -- bigger food prep area on right Yes..very happy with the shine Hope I can maintain it...the contractor says to use Terracare to mop the floor
  23. DAY 50 cont Now that the kitchen and yard floors are exposed Yard floor Close up shot Kitchen floor -- alamak so dirty already the grouting Closeup shot Another closeup shot - got hair and debris
  24. DAY 50 cont AFTER - master bathroom, walls and floor shine restored Job well done I decided to add a stainless steel backing at the sink area. Initially contemplated a tempered glass one, but decided against it. Applying adhesive on the backing Sticking it to the wall Pressing in the backing, and then siliconing the edges
  25. DAY 50 cont The polishing process- it's was a wet wet situation Now after the polishing, the marble is now shiny and new. AFTER - living and dining area
