  1. Its been a while since I updated my blog or even logged in to renotalk . Reason being that a bit tied up with work and the sorts. Btw, to all those who PMed me for Andrew's contacts, i have already replied you.. Have fun finding an ID!! Here are the pics as promised. The final product (Still lacking quite a bit of furniture at bedrooms) Shoe Cabinet: Kitchen with most of the appliances in: Living Room (With most of the furniture already in): MBR Toilet (We really like the MBR toilet Tap): Our 10ft WIW Area: Our curtains courtesy of MGL Curtains: Roman Blinds at guest room. MBR room is the same except for it being slightly greenish Half height curtain at cosy area (Living room is the same except that its full height: Thats about the furniture I have in my place at the moment looking for things like bedside table, storeroom racks, and some cabinets as well as shelfing but all those would have to take time as kinda broke now lol. Its a bit late now so gg to head to bed. For those waiting for the summary of my ID, please stay tuned Cheers!

  3. wow very nice indeed. Classy and modem!!
  4. ur balcony that seat very nice!!! how much is the damage and where to buy? thinking of buying 1 too
  5. Just bought and installed a Panasonic Inverter Sys 3 at $2700. Comes with free stainless steel bracket..
  6. has anyone installed this in HDB before? dunno why but I feel its not practical to install such locks at HDB as might have kids coming to press ur door combi just for the fun of it....
  7. Just PMed you Andrew's contact. I feel no harm talking to more IDs before making your judgement. Only thing you need to take note of is that during the course of the reno, he might mention things like "if only $100 or so he will try to help me absorb". Just don take it too seriously . From experience, my quotations from him are always right to the dollar that I owe him. But in view of the good and prompt service received thus far, I don see a point to argue with him for 100+ dollars. In addition, he does refund me money whenever I remove things from my quote. Hence, its quite flexible. Ultimately, he also needs to earn a living. Hence, I never once requested him to absorb anything nor say that he promised me that he would, etc. Guess I just want to be fair to him also. Only thing that I did follow up with him was when he mentioned that he would get Singapore lightings to give me a spare bulb for each area. The reason for me following up on this is because I am quite lazy to go check each lighting that I have for what type of bulb that they use.
  8. wow u have a lot of space to play with... what theme would you like your house to be?
  9. I also had lots of issues with ERA Agent when I purchased my house. My agent was definitely biased and I would say unethical. You can read all about him. When complained to ERA, they onlygive SOP answer saying blah blah blah and that I still have to pay the commission. When I questioned them time and time again if what the agent did met ERA's standards and that if ERA stood by the agent's actions, no reply at all...just ignore and ignore and ignore.. finally gave up on ERA decided just pay the comm and let the matter pass.
  10. bought my carpet from Objet located at amoy street. Quite nice and now they having up to 40% sale so a 1.6x2m carpet only cost me about 200-300 bucks
  11. wah nice table and the price is also reasonable! congrates!
  12. the white powder i think is white cement. Can use for grouting de. I went to buy those wall putty thing cause noticed a few places of my house need to putty a bit. However, now I no paint to paint even if I putty cos the painters took my living room paint away . Maybe I should just go see if I can buy a small can and keep it for future use. i don mind if I am able to touch up myself cause also do not wish to keep disturbing my ID.
  13. wow very nice! i really like your balcony wall tiles. May I know how much psf did you pay for them?
  14. Hi Ivy, when is your reno going to start? I too met Andrew from R&R at Expo exhibition. So far during the reno, everything was fast, prompt and efficient and delay was only minor. Think about 2 days deviation from the date he gave me. I even called Andrew at 11pm or so to highlight stuff that I was not satisfied with haha! But have to admit, he is really a very patient guy. However, I have to say that there were still a few hiccups, which wasnt too bad at all as compared to my previous experiences with another firm and ID. So far, I think R&R's selling point is carpentry, tiling (I am very impressed with their tiler and carpenter) and electrician. Their cleaners were not very good and the painters I would say average (They even took some of my paints away saying they need it for another site!!! Now I do not have spare paint for my living room sigh. Wonder if my ID is aware of this ) Their plasterer was fine but I guess its hard for them to be good in HDB due to the uneven beams and stuff. With regard to laminate and colour combi, I am also quite satisfied (My wife really likes the kitchen combi chosen by Andrew) Now I am waiting for the final touch up before I come to a conclusion of my whole experience with him and his company. Stay tuned if you are interested With regard to the lifetime guarantee, I am also skeptical. But then again, I think 1-2 years of warranty is more than suffice for me. I mean, if there are defects, 1-2 years should be more then suffice for them to surface. If its more than 2 years, high chance it will be wear and tear which is not covered (Unless the tiling pop out, etc, then its worksmanship but in a few years time, how are you even going to find that same tile?)
  15. The tiler and painter came by over the weekend to do some touch up and now only left a bitof carpentry touch up stuff which will be completed by next week hopefully. Overall, my reno took about 7 weeks. Ok as promised, here are just 2 pics of my house which is still in a mess after the reno. Living Room (In a mess when I took this picture) Kitchen (Also in a mess when I took this picture) Will post more once I have the proper stuff inside the house, the curtains up, etc However, not all is well. My MBR floor was 'injured' by the cleaners . They left such patches on my laminate which is really hard to clean off (that is if it is even possible to remove those acid left stains) Furthermore, the wall at my kitchen entrance has a hairline crack appearing!!! That portion of the wall was built up so that I can reduce my kitchen entrance to about 80cm. Seems like something wasnt done properly and hence, the cracks are starting to surface now. Hope my ID has an answer to fix that. I have not yet informed him cause I do not want to disturb him over the weekend. Will let him know most prob some time next week before the new year holiday. Stay tuned for more next week after all my stuff have come in and I have properly decorated the place!! For those who are interested to know more about my ID (Andrew) as well as his company Rezt and Relax, I will also give a full summary of my experience most prob next week. Reason being that I still have some issues like the hairline cracks, the carpentry, etc that I need him to rectify before I can give a complete conclusion to the whole experience. Hopefully, he will not be like a particular ID from Ora*** C*** who kinda stopped responding when he received 90% payment and only know how to chase my dad to pay up without wanting to rectify the issues.
  16. thanks for the advice. The only issue is that this tile has part of my shower mixer on it. means they have to remove the mixer, place the tile and drill the hole to place the mixer back on. A bit worried that they might drill an uneven hole when placing the mixer back on but anyway, will see what I can do cos supposed to be meeting the tiler today in the late morning
  17. i just realised that my common toilet wall has a hollow tile. knocking on it produces a totally different sound!!! Any idea if there will be any impact if I let it be?
  18. My town Council reply me le. they say will rectify it on 1st Jan 2009 and will follow up with me once rectified. Now waiting loh...1 more week should be fine
  19. Wow, I like your vanity basin!! how much did it cost you?
  20. That is from Rattan Pacific at IMM!! My sofa, console and side table also bought from them. They will be delivering them tomorrow.
  21. My house is gg to be completed soon. Will post pics of the 'completed' product by next week so stay tuned!! However, have something that Iwould like to seek advice from fellow reno-talkers... My MBR wall as well as my Guest room Wall seem to have a serious water seepage problem from the outside. Mine is corner unit and the flat is like 23-25 years old already. Hence, I think the condition of the exterior is quite bad. I had my whole house plastered and painted. However, after about 1 week from the plastering and the painting, I noticed that my wall in the MBR and Guestroom has lots of air bubbles!! This is definitely not my ID's faut and it was nice of him to help me mark those very obvious spots and told me that he will get the painter to paint some oil sealant over them before repainting. However, this is definitely not a long term solution as I suspect after a week or so, the bubbles will return again Does anyone have such experience and know how to tackle it? I was thinking of getting HDB to rectify but I highly doubt they will bother with only 1 unit on the 10th floor.
  22. i finally finish reading thru your post loh.. but one thing i don understand is, how come you have 2 ids doing your house at the same time? That contractor from **** and also an ID called Henry?
  23. from the telephone number, his ex company is GPlan? wats the id's name? might as well post here since police report already made?
  24. Gave them 3 weeks notice as stated in my contract for the delivery of my mattress and bedframe. However, after 10 days, they called me to tell me no stock for my bedframe. Now I gave them another week (written on my receipt is I just need to give them 3 weeks advance notice for delivery date.) He will get back to me if have the frame and can deliver on the 2nd Jan anot. Quite disturbed by this sigh....and i already paid in Full somemore Anyone have experience with them?
  25. Thanks, Andrew did an inspection of the place without me asking him to and already noted a few areas that he will have to touch up. Nice of him to take the trouble to do that in advance. Anyway, today had a really hard time appeasing my wife. She totally refused to talk to me the whole day Reason being that the kitchen cabinets that she planned her stuff with turned out to be different from the 2D diagram given to us by Andrew and we only know of this on Friday. The cabinets from 4 doors now became only 3 doors!!! And this also meant that the stove will be much nearer the right side as compared to where it might have been previously .. To be honest, i did not really pay much attention cos I did not do the planning on how to use the kitchen. Hence, I did not highlight anything other than the fact that the cabinets has some minor issue (shall not go into those details now). Hence, my wife is upset with me saying that I do not care about her stuff and that why I did not inform the ID. Sigh....but the thing is that I did ask Andrew a few times and he even told me that his carpenter did take the measurements and turned out everything oso can have except mayb the doors become smaller. So we rest our mind. However, on Friday when I saw it, I noticed only 3 doors and he also told me that became 3 door. I tht ok loh....but unfortunately....my wife is not feeling the same way as me....haiz....now i have to think of some way to appease her . I need to speak with Andrew on this again. Thruout these 6 weeks, he has shown me that he is quite a thoughtful person who thinks for the owners. hence, there must be some reason for his actions on this.
