  1. Hi wuga, what did your contractor paint onto the plywood? Is it glue? The use of plywood in wooden flooring is common in a nail-down installation. Just check that good quality plywood is used instead of cheap, pest-infested ones. Cheers.
  2. The kerb is a good idea. But a rubber mat will actually trap water beneath it if you're not careful, so best to use carpet rug instead. Best way to maintain laminate and wooden floors is to damp mop with water (wring tightly first) once, then dry mop again. The cleaning agent can be used once a week, depending on your level of traffic. Cheers.
  3. Hello, Sorry to hear about your new floor! The best solution depends on the extent of the damage. If it's a small dent, you might want to consider letting it be. Try covering it up with a rug or piece of furniture. If you wish to repair, wood putty is a good option. But do take note that wood putty is not very hard, and can flake off with time and traffic. I would usually not suggest replacing just a single piece of parquet. The cost is disproportionately expensive, and the colour of the replacement piece could be noticeably different from the rest of the floor. Inevitable as wood is a natural material. Good luck.
