I have a solid pine cabinet shelf from ikea 11years ago and it is still working fine. I guess it all depends on how you take care of the stuff. Fo sure, you can stain or laquer the ikea furniture to make it last longer. Should have no problem with ikea stuffs so far. In fact most most of the furniture at home are from ikea. As for the solid birch wood top, they are fine. Ikea sells them treated. Cheers.

Hi gladyslim... thanks for the reply. FYI: My new flat wooden skitring is painted dark brown ( I think those semi-gloss oil paint) . Not varnish. These expoxy paint, where to buy and how to use them lah? I have already sand down the brown paint. now my wooden skirting is bare. Would really appreciate if anyone can give me exact direction on where to buy these paints. Cause the neighbourhood shop usually recomment me Nippon/ICI gloss paint. I've tried it but the effect is not glossy. Cheers.

Hi All, I just got my keys and just managed to DIY the lightbulb plastic connector in the store room. The connection is simple, just connect the live eath & neutral and screw them in. My problem is for the other parts of the house where the socket have 1 red (live), 2 neutral & 2 eatth wire. What I did was just take the 1 live + 1 neutral + 1 earth wire and connect to the light bulb plastic connector. I leave the balance neutral & earth wire as it is. BUT then when i turn on the switch, no light... like no power leh... Can anybody help give me a rough guide.. or some DIY frns here staying near Sengkang can give me some pratical lesson... Cheers.

Hi All, Could you post photos of your completed renovation with the ceiling fan fixed on the bedroom and living room... Thanks... I need a rough idea. Anyway, Do malaysia shop also sell the KDK standing fan?
-
hey there.. sorry to budgge in like this. Can you explaint in details on how u go about to JB to buy the KDK fans? And can you give me a exact location and price for those pieces? Thanks...

WOW.. this is a great piece of information but... have anyone who own washer+dryer machine comment on this.. It could also be a sales talk by the sales person leh... If they sell seperate machine, they will get better commission,, I think it's better to email/talk to the engineer of the washing machine company... since they will be able to advise better... Just think of it, those high end brand like Brandid, Fisher & Paykel and even Miele, they are all seperate washer dryer... maybe the sales man is also correct. Anyway, we singapore weather, don't really need a dryer. My germany friend, dont even use a dryer here. He say in their country, they need dryer during winter season... but dring normal weather, they still hang dry their clothes.. Cheers...

I and my wife seen this miele washer/dryer and we are very impressed and keen on getting them if we really have the cash spare. Right now my family have been using 3 second hand washing machine bought from shops that repossed electrical goods for the past 29years. And we only so far spend like 1.4K so far to date. What more these machine ables u to wash curtain, rugs and even thick matress comforter sheets But may really consider getting it if the set price drops to $2999... Lookign forward to a even lower price of the miele set... Cheers...

Hi there, You will need a to drill the wall and screw in the table. Equipment needed: - Electric Driller (recommended those with hammer action for future investment) Ard $100+ or borrow from people. - Screwdriver. - Drill Bit & wall plug ( Go the the hardware shop and ask the person for a wall plug and drill bit to fit the wall plug size.) If u are putting heavy things on the table, you might want to use the heavy duty wall plug and get a longer screw with it. BTW, you can know morre by asking the staff at the hardware shop.. They will gladly show you how. Good luck Cheers...
