  1. Hi stormcontrol, your reno progress is fast and I hope for you to be smooth as well. I do agree with pinkpetter that 慢工出细货 would be better. For myself, I took over 9 weeks (but partly my master bathroom hacking needs further approval from HDB, which took additional 2 weeks or so, no progress) to complete, as I told my ID to do nice-nice, don't rush. But then my ID is not your contractor, in case you wonder, haha...
  2. Oh yeah, guy77, always forgot to ask you (whenever I see your avatar) - are you a Star Wars fan?? That avatar is "Obiwan Kenobi" hor?? I am big fan of Star Wars leh. Haha...
  3. Just did a little shopping today - bought the Seahorse brand sofa (as recommended by rondy) of dork brown colour and its hard mattress ($839.70 + $429.50 = $1269.20 poorer lor). But they only can deliver on 2 July, no earlier day possible!! Some more my bed frame coming tomorrow (with dining table & chairs), sianz .... no mattress to sleep on....
  4. Ok, glad that the photos indeed answered your question. But you gave me a brand new "difficult" question leh, haha... I do not know who is the contractor, coz I only go there once a week (usually Sunday) to see the progress and take photos. Hence, I meet "no one" there. However, my ID is the "famous" Mr K from Ideal House - this I know! Haha... Would this "answer" do? Seriously, the progress/process was rather smooth and "painless" for me, and I certainly am quite happy that I do not need to deal with all those work coordination etc, which can be very long and tedious process, as experienced by some other forumers...
  5. Really? Seems like this type of laminates are rather popular (with different colour tone those of use who uses it), that can give others a chance to possibly do their own "mix & match"... By the way, I don't remember seeing your photo(s) of the TV console yet, right? But I do remember the photos of your laminates selection though, haha...
  6. Hmm... seems like your answer does fit that bag. As you were saying, without the line, looks like laptop bag, but still got the round-round part below, so looks weird as laptop bag if it is, haha...
  7. Mystery Gift Last weekend, I won a "mystery gift" at Parkway Parade, but I don't really know what it is use for, can someone enlighten me, please?? It looks like some kind of bag, but the middle portion got "sealed/sewn" off leh...
  8. On the part of the laminates, yeah, looks the same as yours but with a difference in colour tone? Yours seem to be lighter in the colour shade, while mine is darker; also your lines/stripes are vertical (top part horizontal), where as mine, the lines/stripes are horizontal. What do you think? Haha...
  9. Thanks preciousjam, yes, the spacious thing is something I like also - very much too! TV console is just a simple one, which is to my liking, fortunately. Haha... Reason being - I intend to put my 42" plasma TV (not wall mounted) there, which is mainly for my 3 nieces (my mother looking after - weekdays) to watch their TV programmes. They practically on it when they are awake, so I would say my TV would change every 4/5 years (that's why better don't wall-mount it)?? Hence, Mr K did not suggest any wall feature in this case, which is fine by me (save $$$ too, haha....) As for my own self, I intend to get a smaller TV in my study room (bedroom 3), in the near future, now no more $$$...
  10. Like many others, I am also no fan of country style living, but payretep, your place is very nicely done up!! Congrats!!
  11. Pardon me for interjecting, but guy77 is right. No need to delete the blog, as long as you are writing your own experiences, it is up to each individual to read it (without prejudice) for reference. This forum is to share ideas/experiences, should anyone dislike your posts, they could just leave and read others. Just a thought. Cheers with well wishes!
  12. Left Over Besides the (1) doors (from master bedroom & bedroom 2) which I got it re-painted, and (2) windows from newly created guest/games room are left over from precious owner, the picture below shows the other left over stuffs: (1) L-box with cornices (with down lights changed from round shape to current square shape), (2) Main wooden door, (3) Door grilles (re-painted/re-coated), and (4) Window grilles (window panels have been changed though).
  13. Latest Pictures The Bi-fold door for storeroom, which I believe I have left out previously. The view of my kitchen wall (no cabinets on top) and its cabinets below, from kitchen door entrance. View of entire kitchen from bedroom doors area.
  14. Hi Rasp, actually the hanger and the bulb has about say, 12-15 cm height difference (with the bulb at the lower end), so I think it is quite ok personally. So, I will ask my mother to put the pole(s) into this side of the hanger first to prevent the possibility of poking into the bulb (of course, "accident" does happen when you least expect it). Nevertheless, your point is valid and I would check with my ID also when he (or his guys) comes to touch. For your info & thanks too!
  15. Hello again, Bon07, the following photos taken especially for you one hor... TV Console View. I hope the photos have answered your question, as I worry that I might have not taken the right picture part of the TV console, haha...
  16. Hi ashes02, just finished reading... Nice place you've got, though it was a simple renovation, but your DIY hubby actually beautifully created a place of your own - uniquely yours and truly a home! Cheers!
  17. Yeah, come to think of it, quite true hor... Don't know what am I saying, haha... Manz... some forumers were saying it is rather addictive - posting here. At first, I disagree as I usually try to control not to log in so often and post-post. Now, I am posting here and there, and everywhere, and hence, I agree!! Haha ...
  18. Oooh, I must be careful not to 班门弄斧 in front of you! Heehee.... Sure, point noted.
  19. No worries, this forum is all about sharing. Your warning also comes in handy for me to take note. Thanks thanks!
  20. I see, pardon me asking, do you happen to teach math? No worries, your blog did provide me with good information (I am sure the same for others too)!!
  21. You are teaching graduating classes? If so, I believe the first 2 weeks usually taken up for supplementary lessons lor... But come to think of it, non-graduating classes also could have supplementary lessons hor, I am so "contradicting", haha...
  22. Haha, when found and bought, will put up the photos in my blog (wait people say I "hacking" your blog, haha...), but don't know when yet.
  23. Don't sad, wait I also sad-sad. Anyway, look at the bright side - your house is beautifully done up! Yay!!
  24. A real teacher huh, guy77? Hmm... I think he won't mind? Now, school holidays, should be a happy man? Haha... Yeah, no problem, can always drop by mine or your blog can chat...
  25. Haha, yeah "big"... Thanks for the advice. I usually won't "activate" my CC installments, but for this time, no choice, the reno and all took away all my "cash component" (still got COV, also cash leh), hence the rest will need to "activate" my CC installments lor... I do agree with you that, actually most living expenses in S'pore is high-high-HIGH!!!
