Northwest Interior Nw
Art Ching replied to kksg2000's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
renovation is man-made product. there no 100% for man-made things. human and computers are not the same. after seeing so much comments, i feel that before you complain do u tink that you are always doing everything 100%? -
what design is there to talk about when no one wanted to pay for it. even some designers design some ***** that going to cost alot. who going to pay for the time and effort they spend in? be realistic a little. do u go to consultant firm to get a quote which may cost 2 to 3 times more than a contractor company or u want to save cost by going to a contractor firm. think design think money first

my suggestion: try using wallpaper that have the same effect. i have seen similar wallpaper before. Good luck

Looking For Reliable & Cheap Painting Contractors
Art Ching replied to Honeygal's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
hello, abt the nos of coating of paint have to be careful. need to ask them how many times they are coming. if you are coordinating your own painters. inform them that your door frame, doors, air-con pipe. sewage pipe?, water pipe gass pipe? all the pipes need to be painted. and how many colours you can select from. normally during reno, wall tend to get dirty easily. not so easy to coordinate painters also. -
Ceramic Flooring Overlaid With Parquet
Art Ching replied to hello88's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
First thing, i think its not fesible to overlay paraquet flooring over an existing ceramic flooring. paraquet need to be lay over on cement screed using max bond and nails Secondly, laminated flooring is not cheapo, you get what you pay for. $3.80 compared to $8 or $9 paraquet? there no comparison at all. My suggestion is to hack off the existing ceramic and lay with paraquet but laminated flooring is another option for you also. thanks -
hi HDB are using hollow-block for constructing wall so its light-weight if planning to do this in HDB might not be allowed. Maybe landed its okie. its doesnt really cost much to do up a red brick wall abt 20% to 30% more than a hollow-block one

i personally feel that the quote is not expensive. Usually for small amt of items, the sub con will charge by labour eg: recasing for 2 points they charge you 280. this included the worker labour and petrol fee to fix for you like what pierre said ask for 1200 and settle

Is It Necessary To Put A Door In Between The Kitchen And My Hall?
Art Ching replied to vernonlcm's topic in Carpentry Works
A nice tempered glass sliding door will be your complete solution. not only nice but pratical -
hi if you feel that your quote is expensive. why not ask 2 or 3 more contractors to quote if the range is abt 800 bucks at least you have a rough idea and also every house is different from another one. see what the contractors quote you and discuss with them

lol how not safe. you mean u jump out of window?

as for the bathroom tiles its better to use 300mm by 300mm as they have better gradient compared to the 600mm by 600mm one. so water will not be trapped there

normally the door frame is made of wooden and its 3ft X 7ft. and u need to find a matching colour for ur door frame if u want to match with ur wall colour and u can simply paint it wood colour depends on you. yes hacking of the door frame and reinstall cost a lot more than ur door they charge u with labour cost
-
acutally its a very normal quotation. or u want to try those contracters. they are cheaper but workmanship not that good though

Laminate Flooring And Static Electric
Art Ching replied to priyalok's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
The worker will lay a foam before they lay the laminated flooring. Dun think you will suffer any shock -
Normal cresto its abt 80 dollars. granite about 120~130 LG abt 110 Corian abt 130~140 The amt of arylic in LG is 2% less than Corian. But corian is a branded that why it cost more than LG. Just like a sony laptop compared to dell laptop with the same specs

Homogeneous Tiles Or Compressed Marble
Art Ching replied to serene2's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Compressed Marbles - The color tone will be very constant as they are being produced by special machines and color checked using computers. - Strictly no ugly veins/ cracks or spots - Wider range of colors available - Does not absorb stains and therefore more easy to maintain - Cannot be leveled but small amount of polishing can be possible - however the shine cannot be compared to natural marble - May be same or lower in cost as compared to natural marble Homogeneous, Polished - It is a man made material to be as tough as granite - A wider range of effects/designs and colors - The polish of Homogeneous can last longer than the shine of marble. - Unlike Ceramics, in an unlikely case of breakage (due to fallen objects), this materials will not show a tile base/ body of different color. - Unlike Marble and Granite, the pattern/ design of the homogeneous tiles are more subtle and predictable, without the ugly crack lines and spots usually spotted on natural stones - The common size being 60 x 60 cm, 40 x 40 cm -
