Hi Chyi, dun let the tv size hold you back from allowing you to use this bracket (F115). As long at the weight of the TV is less than 27 kg you can use the bracket. My advise to you is to go to the Harvey Norman or Court, bring along a measuring tape with you. And measure the distance of the mounting holes behind the tv, after that check the distance of the mounting holes to see if its within the limits of the bracket using the drawing of the bracket (F115) However there is another bracket available which is the F180 but its waaay to expensive ($300 ++) and overkill.. Its designed for LCD TVs which are much more heavier than LEDs. As long as you are buying a LED there is a chance you can use F115. Here is the info for the F180 F180 Here are the pictures i promised : Bracket mounted View from my sofa View from the top

Hi, I mount the bracket directly to the wall. My TV size is a 40 inch Philips 6605 LED TV, the TV weight is 13.7kg Philips I copy and post here my reply to another forumer who also asked abt my mount because she is using the same box-in-wall for TV concept. "Thanks, i searched several wall mount bracket and finally decided on the VuePoint F115. But it depends on your box dimensions. Maybe you can measure it and i can advise if the bracket i am using is suitable. Its full motion wall bracket which can take up to 27 kg Because i want it to be able to swivel towards my lazy chair or my dining table when i need to. Here is the link : Vuepoint F115 You can get it from NTUC Supermart or Courts, its selling for $170, i tried but couldnt find anywhere selling cheaper. In order to get the ideal location mounted you will need to find the vertical and horizontal center line of your tv. Basically what i did was lie the TV front down and use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the centre points on the tv on the back. Then from the website i provided download the technical drawing from the download section : Drawing First you need to measure the dimension of your TV wall box, and find the center point. That will be your datum or center reference line. Next you will need to locate where the wall plate should sit. As you can see from the drawing, the bracket is offset from the center. If you want to mount it at the correct position you will need calculate correctly to compensate the height from bottom edge of your wall box. From the drawing see the side view and you will see the dimension 217.6 mm. That is the vertical length from the datum of your box dimension. So measure 217.6mm down and you get the bottom end of where the wall plate should sit. Draw a horizontal line across. Place the bottom edge of your wall bracket plate on that line and then mark out the 3 drill holes on the wall. And you can start drilling the mounting bolts holes. I cant remember but i think its a 10 mm drill bit. In the end i had to do it myself because some people quoted $80-$90 to mount it because they claim its too complicated.... what a load of crap... haha " Actually i completed the job myself in less than 20 mins. If you have any further queries, feel free to let me know, i will try to help you. If you like to see pictures of the bracket after its attached to the wall let me know, i will post them up

Actually the corrugated sheets are made or plastic. Its usually used as a mounting backing for school projects so its got no issue with water. As for the suspended cabinet, i have thgt of it but i want to have time to draw up the design for it first and you are right abt the insulation, i think that will help with the sound proofing. That will be my project.

Here is a quick, cheap and easy way to cover up your condensate pump if you have one. I used corrugated sheet which can be easily purchased from any Popular Bookstore, they are available in many different shades of colour. Measured the dimensions, cut-bend-fold to make a box, cut off the protrusions and stick strong velcro tapes on the bottom of the box Stick the other side of the velcro onto the bottom of the water pump. The box being made of light weight material can be held in place easily by the velcro. Wala ! This simple mod was completed before breakfast...

Yeah its partially hidden by the false ceiling. The pump does create a sound when it runs.... which is quite similar to a really huge vibrator ..haha.. hope you guys here have a good sense of humor .. Anyway i think most people may find it annoying but i think its quite ok..maybe its because i got alot more ear wax than most people ?

Liquor / Wine rack The rack are using Ikea kitchen drawer handles Wine glass holder Why i use a double leaf door instead of a normal door ? So that my sofa bed can be position in the center of the room as the width of the door is only half. If i use a normal door, the sofa have be at the side of the room wall to allow the door to open fully

Ok... Pictures finally.. Set top box, blu ray player and Lenovo nettop connected to living room tv. Wiring is still a mess. Main power cables and wiring are hidden in the upper portion of the box Devices are held down in place using rubberized U-bands. One of my customzied DIY, instead of opting for the usual sliding glass door for the kitchen, i decided to use a heavy drape curtain which is special customized with 2 sides. Normal cotton material on the outside and polyester on the inside which is easily detachable as it held together using velcro so making it easier to clean the polyester sheet. The reason for this is because if i use a sliding door, the width of the doorway is restricted to the width of the door. Meaning a smaller doorway width. The curtain can me hidden inside a tall unit when not in used. Fully drawn, it will keep the harsh white light in the kitchen out from the warm lights in the dinning area and living room.

Masculine .... mmm... i dont think so lah... but i am definitely no pussy willow.. Hahaha.. Just kiddin', i am just your average Joe on the street. Yeah. Thanks, i always like basic colours and back-to-basic designs, and coming from a engineering background, certain things has to be practical and functional as well. So that was my concept for my place. There some small little unusual builds which i DIYed for the place. Will show as i go along. Been super busy with work and too tired to upload photos.. will try to do it this weekend.

Haha.. sharp eyes, if you look at the floor plan which i pasted above you will notice that its going to be a problem. And i knew it from the start, so i had no choice but to install a water pump inside that room. The aircon blower in the room is mounted above the new doorway created, and the living room aircon blower is mounted above the same door way but facing the living room, i wanted this because i wanted to keep the trunking of the living room blower out-of-sight, so by adopting a back to back mounting, the living room blower trucking are joined behind the wall with the room trunking. So in other words if your look at the living room blower you will not see any trucking coming out of it. And the water pump is pumping away condensate water from both the room blower and the living room blower. Its a no-other-option layout plan, because i dont want to be tearing up truckings later...

Here is another photo of the feature with the door to the masterbedroom closed. So unless you push the door you will not know that its a door. And believe me when i say that the door is built from scratch by their carpenter. Its super heavy and super well built, it exceeded my expectations so much that i send Diana a sms to forward my compliment to her carpenter for the excellent job on the feature wall and the door especially when i first saw it. I requested to use a concealed door closer so that it makes the design looks more streamline. Its more expensive than a normal door closer but its worth every $ because it has a built in door stopper so i dun have to use another door wedge to hold the door.

Thanks for the nice compliments. The feature wall is still very much a DIY work in progress as some of the boxes on the wall are actually storage for wine bottles and wine glasses. Its a customized request which Diana and myself work together on the design and dimensions so that its both visually appealing and yet practical. And the box above the TV wall is going to hold/hide my Set Top Box and Blu-ray player using the flip down door design. Here is mock up photo of the player cabinet with the Blu-ray player As for the LED tv mounting bracket i had to purchase my own as the one that came free was not suitable for my usage. The bracket has been mounted but picture still not uploaded yet. Again this was another DIY task because if i ask someone to do the mounting, the border around the TV will not be equal all around, so i trust only myself and did it after several measurements and some minor modification to the bracket. I believe you can tell that i am pretty much a DIY person.. haha.. Thats one of the reason why i like working with Diana because she allows me to customize the designs to my practical liking. As a engineer, i always believe that if its not practical is not worth doing it.. haha.. A double leaf door for this room is also requested by me for a practical reason... haha you will understand once you see the furniture to be used inside the room which is my Audio Video Room

Sealing up the existing door and hacking up another door to the room across the living room. Has to be done bc the location of the door is eating up usable space, and the length is not long enough to put a proper sofa The masterbedroom door was hacked off to create a longer corridor to the room. This also meant the 2nd bedroom is now part of the masterbedroom. In order to save time and money, we decide to just cement over the existing kitchen wall instead of hacking the tiles and cementing them again.

The ID i chose to work with was Diana from Dyel Design. This is my second project with them. My first project in a condo with them was extremely enjoyable and rewarding. It was very impressive and outstanding and it made the sale of that unit extremely fast and at a good price. That unit is part of their showcase in their website. And with this unit, i decided on them again because they have a very good working team (especially their carpentry!)and Diana being a designer with artistic background does not impose her ideas into my concept but rather work with my suggestion and ideas to make the design into a reality. As a single guy with a dog, i know what i need and want in my pad. Diana as usual shows me her talent with her concept of the unit layout... unfortunately, as i plan to sell this unit in the future, i have to consider that practicality of the unit appeal to the future owners. Therefore minimal hacking and practical layout which will appeal to general young couple. Dont get me wrong she gave me a very impressive artist impression of her proposal (which i will not show as its her idea and shouldnt be used without her permission) which i did not go for as i wanted something more practical. So her island kitchen concept, open concept living room and enormous masterbedroom concept cant be utilized. After several discussions we decided on a minimalistic concept of the unit with i wanted. Here are the artist impression of the concept. I request for a very neutral and urban concept so there is no other secondary colours in the unit other than basic palette Kitchen is a impt area for me as i like to spend alot of my weekends working on new culinary ideas and fusion, so a European standard workable kitchen is what i need, as i entertain alot of guest and visitors with food. The picture on the left is actually a shoe cabinet which Diana included for me despite me saying that i do not have more than 4 pairs of shoes and her reply..." you must plan for the future.. you never know if your gf or wife will need it.." The restrooms is also impt to me as i want to be in a relaxing environment when i taking a dump.. haha So with the final concept confirmed we went ahead with the job ! (and yes.. the shoe cabinet was part of it...)
