  1. Must share with everybody my lustful weekend find! This I'm going to add to my WISHLIST for the new home... means got extra money then buy! Presenting the Nespresso machine! It makes piping hot cups of espresso (or latte if you buy the additional milk frother) in a matter of seconds. All you need to do is pop in a capsule and voila, aromatic coffee! Cleaning is also equally simple. No need to bother with coffee grains, just throw away the used capsules and wash 2 small containers...no digging and scrubbing like other coffee-makers! Yes, yes...I'm a coffee addict... At a price of $518 for a machine, additional $99 for the milk frother and 90cents per coffee capsule... hmm...wishlist alright... anyone want to buy me a house-warming-cum-christmas present?? Check it out at http://www.nespresso.com/precom/home_sg_en...?&nedlogin=
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. The PD door can slide and then open outwards one right? Do you know how much one cost? I suppose I also need to re-install a new door frame for the new door?
  3. You're welcome. I'm not sure if you've also made a trip to Sungei Kadut. A lot of furniture warehouses there and they usually have new + clearance stock so possibly can get a good deal.
  4. Hi pinkpetter, My sofa cost me $2188. Original price was $2388 before bargaining with the salesguy. I dun think I'm very good with bargaining but oh well... You bought your sofa liao or still looking?
  5. Ok, I shall go see your pics. I'm thinking whether I should use the same light green colour for my MBR's feature wall as well. Also saw a Calvin Klein bedsheet in a very nice shade of green today which I liked very much... but cost $268!! Anyway, will look around other places for similar clear glass dining tables before I buy that one.
  6. Nice clean-cut look. Can you choose the wallpaper design? If you can, the company can design a customised one using your family photos or scenery shots of holidays, that will make for a more homely feel. But if you can't, i think better to go for one that is simple, less colours because firstly your house is mainly black and white and secondly, if the wallpaper is too colourful, it can be distracting when watching tv. I'm also putting wallpaper tog with my feature wall so just sharing ID's advice. Good luck with reno and have fun!
  7. Thanks! Have you used it before? How much does it cost?
  8. Hi, more pics to share. Hb and I went back to IMM today to take photos of some stuff we bought previously but forgot all about the pics. We also saw this full clear glass dining table which we really like. It costs $1200 for table alone. Is this expensive? Full leather L-shaped sofa Sealy queen mattress
  9. Wow, you really played with lots of colours for the walls. Veri nice I think I chose only 4 colours...a bit scared it will turn out too complicated looking but yours looks very well coordinated. I love the lollipop! Good choice.
  10. Hi congrats! Hehe, your room with the glass partition is similar to mine, only halfwall. However, my ID said that the whole wall will be hacked and then partitioned back up cos hacking half will cause the remaining half to be structurally weak in the long run.
  11. Hey BunBun, saw your blog put up recently. Hope reno's going well? Toilet colour scheme still the same? I like the green colour, it's peaceful looking. My hb always says he likes a nice toilet so he can do his business in peace... Hi, got inspired to do something about it after seeing that issue in your toilet. I don't want to scratch/chip/crack the vanity or shower screen as can get a bit 'cor lor' sometimes with stuff... I'll seriously consider a sliding glass door outside the toilet... thanks for the suggestion!
  12. Thanks. I initially wanted my living room to be dark in colour...lots of splashes of grey, black and metallic but my hb says he prefers light colour as it exudes a happier feel when you come home after a long day at work... so in the end we compromised...living room will be bright but MBR will be very dark and cosy...good for sleeping
  13. Hi Ideasmiths, what's a PD door? Thanks. I tried that but I can't either cos if the toilet door opens outwards, it will hit the main door to the MBR if that main door is opened. Thanks for the suggestion tho.. Sliding door is a possible option, I'm not sure if I even have 600mm space though. My door entrance is really narrow. Have to check. Thanks.
  14. Go try Scanteak. http://www.scanteak.com.sg/ They're having up to 60% sale now.
  15. Above washing machine? Aiya...I can't leh, cos there's a lot of pipes sticking out in the area just above where my washer will be... and I don't have a service balcony to place it either... kitchen also no other available corners liao... maybe in the end cannot put. I think I shall do a bit more research. Thanks for advice. Not really leh... You can pipe the hot water from the gas heater to as many taps you want. The only thing is because the water pressure is not strong, is it not advisable to be using 2 showers at the same time. You can pipe it to the kitchen tap also if you like and any other taps in the bathrooms... I think it's unlimited, but you do have to consider the usage. The laying of each pipe is around $90 i think, must check with your contractor. Wow.. thanks for all the ideas. I shall put them in my ideas collection and consider them carefully.
  16. Hi Porkypig, Mind sharing your contact for the Hobz hob and hood? I'm thinking of getting it too for my kitchen. Thanks.
  17. Hi, My toilet door is currently the bi-fold type. I want to change it because in my future toilet design, the vanity top plus sink is on the right and the glass shower screen on the left of the door. When the door is fully opened, it currently moves rightwards and hits the vanity top. Shifting the direction of opening will result in it hitting the shower screen instead. I can't have a sliding door either because I do not have enough wall space to allow it to slide fully to the left or right. My toilet is very small. How else can I have a toilet door but yet not get in the way of the design? Would appreciate ideas and inputs. Thanks!
  18. Thought of that but can't get a swing out door cos either way it will hit the door of the MBR. If the shower screen is a half screen type, does that mean the water will all flow out of the area onto the rest of the toilet? I would like to separate my wet and dry areas.
  19. Cool black and white colour scheme you got there You've also got a spacious service balconey, something I think I will def factor in when looking for my next home. Good luck with your reno.
  20. Need advice on toilet door! My toilet door is the standard HDB bi-fold type. The design of my MBR toilet is such that the glass shower screen goes on the left of the door and the vanity top with sink on its right. However, when the door opens fully to the right, it will hit the vanity top. Even if I changed the door's direction to open to the left, it will then hit my shower screen... You can see the existing situtation before reno below and the toilet design as well. What can I do to preserve my toilet design but still have a door? Any creative ideas?!? Help...
  21. Hi, you can see my study room designs below. Currently my reno's just started. It is designed for 2 persons working simultaneously. I hacked the wall halfway and glassed it up so that I can work and watch TV at the same time as well as see who's coming home. One the other wall, there's also a covered bookshelf flushed against the whole wall to store my books. All shelves are suspended off the ground.
  22. Thanks smartfool. Looks like installation of gas heater is more troublesome cos of the piping and location needs of the heater. But the good thing is that it saves $$ and also the hot water can be piped to other taps too. sigh...decisions..decisions...really dunno which to choose...storage or instant electric or instant gas heaters...
  23. Hi Applefreak, Where did you install your citygas instant water heater? Can it be placed in the bathroom?
