  1. I think you can go for junxian's suggestion of making new cabinets at the dining area. As for the fridge, you can purchase fridge bases without having to build one. That will prevent your tiles being destroyed, but of course the trade off is that it won't look as nice as a built-in fridge base lah.
  2. Nice black and red combi! What does 'princess' room mean?
  3. Yeah...kitchen looks a bit cramped...How about you place your fridge just outside the kitchen and build some new kitchen cabinets where the current fridge location is? That may free up some table top space to house the cooker hob and hood? I think you can't move the cabinets without spoiling it... you might want to consider a completely new set of top cabinets to maximise the space. You can keep the bottom ones since they are still in good condition.
  4. Nice sofa! Is it going to be in the same colour? What is your interior design like? Any pics to share...
  5. More pics! This time showing installation of the fans and some of my lights... Hee Ceiling Fans- Silver for Living Rm and Black for MBR Lights for Study Rm (left) and WIW (right) Toilet Light Bomb Shelter Light The inside shelves of my shoe rack...I told my hb I will need the bigger section! Sidetrack... I have a brand new convection and grill oven for sale, if interested, can visit the following link: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17270
  6. Nice nice! I esp like your kitchen island...
  7. Not so fast lah...prob need another 2 weeks to final inspection and handover. Have fun at Balestier! Hi alphalost, thanks for the compliments.
  8. Most say their ID help them do it. We did it ourselves tho... But payment of $100 is by us through our citygas account, not by ID.
  9. I think the lines are pretty funky! nice
  10. In today's Renotalk feature, we look at the progress of Mandy and Lincoln's first home renovation... let's take a listen at what the homeowners have to say... "My purple colour is turning out to be rather royal looking!" "The kitchen is one of my favourite parts and I'm excited it has started...I can't wait to use it!" "My ugly bomb shelter door is completely hidden and I've got a big shoerack for my shoe collection. Yippee!" "We decided to play around with the wall paints instead of sticking to the conservative white tones. Hence, we injected a mix of dark and brighter colours to accentuate certain walls" "Bye bye old toilet sink..."
  11. Decided to make it easy for guests to remove their shoes inside our entrance. We 're using an outdoors-y slate tile in place of laminate flooring here. Good Idea!
  12. Yeah... realised that other IDs also help their clients coordinate the citygas thingy...dunno why she ask us to it...aiyah nvm lah, small isue cos we were receiving goods on that day anyway. Our working reln also very good so far and she has helped me out a lot and thrown in a bit of 'extras'...hee
  13. Finally your reno has started! congrats. When is the expected end date?
  14. Nice tiles you got there for your toilet! Your house 4 storeys ah? I thought only 3? No choice lah, this kind of money how to save? ... not feasible to move the water across levels cos by the time it travels to the bathroom the water cold liao!
  15. Good progress on your reno! Nevermind about the mis-aligned cabinet...can't help it mah...better to cover the ugly pipe than to leave it exposed!
  16. I saw your designs, it's unique. I like how the ID used the black L-box and beam to separate the dining, living and cosy area. Yes, smartfool is right about the budget. You must first bear that in mind and then based on your needs and usage, create the appropriate spaces. If you have kids or are planning to, then the cosy area can be a mini play area. Alternatively, if you want to, you can partition the space near your windows into an open-concept study-room or something. Anyway, my experience tells me that whatever budget you set aside, likely to exceed by 10-20%. So you must be prepared.
  17. Me not exactly n'bour, but stay nearby... can I come too!? hee Looking nice... the leather-like laminates are cool...very executive-looking!
  18. Your MBR is sure spacious! Have you considered placing a glass wall for the toilet? If so, you can make a swivel for the tv panel and then you guys an watch tv when in bed or when taking a shower!
  19. Woohoo! at least 1 problem solved!
  20. Wah...if there was a contest for the top bragain hunter in Sg, you might just be champion! Dun mind, can share your curtain contact with me too? Since it's an Indo-based company, do they have a local op to take measurements for selection of material and all that?
  21. Ok. After some consideration, my hb said he prefers the roller type. Can I ask where you guys went to get your curtains? What type of material is most 'cooling' (if there's such a material)...hee
  22. Nice place. You've got a great view too!
  23. Haha... not just tennis...think can become bowling alley or putting range for mini golf also! It's a cool longish layout...really can test out your creativity in making full use of the extensive wall... keep us updated on your progress!
  24. I like the egg-like sink! It reminds me of a hard boiled egg sliced into half. Hee
