1. List down to-do list and get a few interior designer to quote. 2. Look through their quote and rough design and improve it. 3. 1st round of eliminate 4. See the actual house and get the final quotation 5. 2nd round of eliminate 6. FINAL CHOICE - can discount anot or any freebies to thrown in. 7. Sign Contract a) When do we eliminate the rest of the ID? Anytime, as long as u dun like the ID, he would be eliminated. b)When do we get the 3-D design? As soon as they done drawing it. Roughly 2 week should be enough lah. Note: Dun pay them money for the 3D design 1st, if they say company policy. U jolly well walk out without 2nd thought. c)When can we see their sample flat to have a a feel of the worksmanship? If they have it in hand, they would invite u after the 1st round of eliminating. d)When do we sign the contract? Definitely after u make your decision at last. Note: Some firm tells u to pay deposit 1st to chop a good price and if u later dun want to choose us we will refund you. Dun believe them "chop their head" instead coz u won't be getting your deposit back. In the end when u forfeit then they will threaten to sue u saying that u got sign contract with them. It's a TRAP used at their booth in singapore expo.

From my opinion the sequence is 1. Toilet - Change of WC, new vanity fitting 2. Change Aircon 3. Kitchen Cabinet 4. Floor Polishing 5. Carpentry Work for Living room, MBR 6. Painting

You've got a 5th choice, thats overlay laminate flooring. Confirm cheapest of all. Some more not that difficult to maintain. You've seen alot of ppl posting their id/contractor quotation. As the experience home owner here could give u comment on which item to ex. Which item is missing? Which item you could save on? Is your ID/contractor over-quote u? etc.

Hi Mimi, Sometimes i don't like to see the quotation given by the contractors. It's so messy dunno whether purposely one or it's their style of work. They dun do the breakdown of item into each classification, for new comers confirm blur one. Take for example. The quotation that i post and the one that ah huat given u, which one is more easily understood in a glance. If i breakdown ah huat quotation, u would understand what i meant by messy. Hacking & Dismantling Dismantle & clear kitchen cabinet. $400.00 Dismantle living & master bedroom laminate floor. $800.00 Hack & plaster back hollow part in master bedroom toilet & kitchen wall. $400.00 Masory (tiling) Over lay kitchen wall tiles. $1,944.00 Over lay kitchen floor tiles. $1,100.00 Master bedroom toilet wall tiles. $1,300.00 Do you already got the base for kitchen cabinet etc... I only knows that FSM like to ask their client to put money plant at their corridor. They say to improve wealth luck. GrandPapa, do u wanna tell us that when we water the plants in the morning, they are producing oxygen. When we intake more oxygen we become happier and having clearer mind. So we feel more refresh.

The pros and cons for overlaying tiles depend on the "current tiles condition". During my renovation we did gave overlaying a thought but gave the idea up after some consideration. 1) Condition of existing tiles - Bad and more than 20years. 2) Waterproofing - might be worn off after so many years. Comparing overlaying and hacking with tiling, overlaying is definitely much cheaper. How much cheaper depend on the contractor that quote u? Average can save 2-3K bah. For that price it is already a good bargain liao. some more the contractor already throw in all the WC, basin, kitchen sink, hood and hob, toilet accessories.

wah liao, speechless leh... -
Over the weekend i discover something interesting about my magiclean mop. All the while i've been using it and attach the paper wipe onto it, as i'm doing the floor cleaning chores. I start thinking about how i used to mop the floor when i was still a kid. I prepare a pail of water and a cloth then start wiping the whole house floor.(for my age that time a mop is too heavy for me) Although it's tiring but the floor is really very clean after that, then came this evolution (magiclean mop). I plant my idea onto my magiclean mop. So i grab one the cloth, wet it and try out the folowing. Indeed it's works well. After wiping a room, i remove it for a wash. Very clean indeed. After change to a clean cloth, it could also be used to clean the cobweb/lizard **** that is near the ceiling.(Cleaning whole house ceiling in less than 10 min) If needed you could also use it clean you kitchen tiles/top kitchen cabinet.
