They will only touch up the area. It is not practical to pain the whole wall. If they use back the same paint, there will be no difference in colour tone when the paint has dried. Unless your existing paint on the wall is like 2yrs old, then you touch up with a fresh coat of the same colour code paint. There will be a difference. The bigger the gap duration, the bigger the difference in the colour tone. Hope my answer helped.

It all really depends on your gut feel after doing some homework. But always remember, cheap doesn't mean good. And good doesn't come cheap. But if its not cheap and not good, then forget it, screw your renovation company. Chinese have this saying:" Want Cheap, got cheap way of doing." Pian Yi You Pian Yi De Zhuo Fa (loosely translated). So you can't expect top grade materials for the price of a song. But the attitude of the renovation company MUST be good no matter how cheap the price is. my 2cents worth of view.

I've one unit's toilet done up with epoxy effects for the walls, floor is overlaid with homogeneous tiles. Epoxy effect is "diamond like" rough surface with plenty of shinny sparkles. Surface similar to a road surface. Its the first time i've done up a washroom with this effect and i'd say i'm impressed with the final touch. Costs about $2800 for 2 toilets excluding overlaying of tiles. $4800 for both toilets everything in. Cement screed before expoy application, epoxy application and overlay floor tiles. Unfortunately I don't have any pics as owner does not want his house pics to be taken. Can consider the epoxy, they have many effects and designs. Another cheaper alternative to consider would be to lay either glossy or matt black tiles for the toilet. cosy cosy eh...

But the pricing is abit on the high side. But if you don't mind paying abit more for a ***** and quality work, thats the place to go.

Closet Design?
dino bravo replied to mum of two's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Some places can offer an exact design at almost half the price, but the difference is in the material used. Do take note and keep in mind. Makes more sense to buy something that last and cost a fraction more. Rather than to buy something cheap and nice, but needs replacement after 3-4yrs of usage. Chipboard is the lowest grade material used. There is no advantage in using chipboard other than being cheap in price. Chipboard does not last over duration. Ikea's furniture mainly uses chipboard as its standard material. Another material 1 grade higher than chipboard is MDF. It is somehow similar to chipboard, but lasts longer than chipboard. The longest lasting "cheap" material is plywood. It is popular as it is easy to work with. And many designs and dimensions can be easily be made out of it. Other materials that lasts are "expensive" timber like teak, Chengai, Rosewood, Cedar, Jarrah and Redwood. These materials are weather resistant, some are heavy. Not easy to work with as compared to plywood. If you want a study table top, made from 1 Piece of such material, it may pose a problem as these timbers usually does not come in such a big dimension from the factory. Whereas Ply wood comes in a big piece 4ft x 8ft. Same for chipboard. As these are manufactured products, thus the ability to manufacture in such big pieces. Natural timber is obtained from the tree itself. Thus dimensions depends on how big the tree is. Hope this info is able to provide a better understanding to all Cheers -
Hi guys since this thread is about carpentry, I've got a carpentry company to recommend as well. This company does 3D drawings, provides desigener ideas and everything else. If you guys are interested in engaging this company, you can call <Edited>. Their project executive designer will be able to fabricate the design you want and also give a reasonable quote.

Hey "Dove" no problem. The company that does my cousin's carpentry also can come up with ideas like "dolpjki" mentioned. But my cousin die die wants a 1 piece special designer wall feature. The designer did a round feature wall for him. Quite unique I would say.

ID can draft a design for you if you do not already know what you want. If you already know what design you want, go to a carpentry factory straight. They can do for you excatly what you want. But not any carpentry can do it for you, i know of some very traditional capentry factory that doesn't understand at all what I'm trying to do. Even with the aid of a 3D drawing, they refuse to do it saying its not easy. They mainly do conventional furniture la, those mass produce one. Find a carpentry that is "attached" to ID firms. They are more creative and productive. There is one at Tai Seng Ave blk 1005, Astute works. my cousin's furniture were all done by them. I like the workmanship and ideas they provide to make the existing design even more attractive, professional service I would say. If you would like to do customised furniture, you might wanna give the fella a call at 9145 3646 for a quote. Look for Wilson. Nice friendly young chap =) Cheers
