Make Hdb Default Toilet Cosy With Min Budget
priyalok replied to priyalok's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
Planning to do: - Big mirror - pelmet lighting with warm lights - shelvs with some plant feature - box up the pipes (find expensive!) Any other ideas? -
Mine is a resale flat but as previous owner was not staying, the unit is still brand new. Both the toilets are still default hdb design (beige colour tiles, seat and basin). As I am short of budget, what is the minimum I can do to make it cosy? (I don't think I have budget to change/overlay tiles)

Help On Balcony
priyalok replied to toons106's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
For me, I love balcony. I am not removing the sliding doors and not putting the grills in balcony. However, looking for option to put chengai flooring, some water feature, relaxing chair/or swing chair (all depending on budget) -
Roughly how much should i expect for laying chengai wood for my outside balcony. The area is roughly 76 sqft.

You are right. I indeed looking for RAS3M20S2AX and RASM10SKPX x3. No I don't need bracket. The quote I received is $1990 (including GST)

Yes. I guess all Sengkang units are with bomb shelter

Im eyeing on Toshiba Sys3 non-inv. My reno will start in Oct end, as such need aircon sometime in 1-2 week of Nov.
-
no, near sculpture park (pr*** supermarket)
-
No. Only changing PVC water pipe to SS. What is the standard pricing? Is it based on pfr or lumpsu? My contractor quoted lumpsum only.
-
me from sengkang. compassvale st. 130 sqm first appt. this friday (10 oct)

I'm still in dilema whether to change the pipes, coz my contractor quoted me $1000 for changing PVC to Stainless Steel for kitchen and 2 toilets. Is it really necessary to change?
-
Looks fine to me. My contractor quoted me: study table: 120 pfr top hung cabinet: 120pfr dun mind, pm me your carpenter contacts?
-
what is the current renovation pricing? My ID is quoting the following. Is it reasonable? - kitchen cabinets (pfr) - $105 - solid tops for kitchen cabinets (pfr) - $75 - granite top for kitchen cabinets (pfr) - $110 - kitchen cabinet base (lumpsum) - $350 - bedroom wardrobes with casement door (pfr) - $220 - study table (pfr) - $200 - bookshelf (pfr) - $200 - shoe cabinet (pfr) - $150 - false ceiling (pfr) - $15 - hacking one wall and patching - $580
-
I was discussing with a contractor (haven't finalised yet for my reno) regarding the false ceiling with cove lights. My idea is to use energy saving lights. He suggested to use fluorescent tubes coz, tube is long, it will make a continuos stretch of light instead of 'pockets' of light due to bulb. My reason: - save on electricity - switch on as many lights I want to make a cosy of bright env (not to forget as many switches) Will there still be considerable amt of saving or it is my speculation only? Is there anrgy saving tubes also avail? then it will solve my issue.

Just curious, those with laminate flooring, let me know have you ever felt static electric shock using the laminate floor. Saw some Pergo series have static protection. Does this means other series/brand don't have?

Glass Shower Screen With Or Without Kerb
priyalok replied to priyalok's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
Currently it is tiles all over (flat surface). I understand a drop can not be done. I presume, the screen door comes with some rubber kind of thing at bottom which keeps it flush with the floor. After bath, once the door is opened (door open inside) it will wipe the floor and push any water inside. If I keep a towel outside floor, do I still need a kerb? Any comments? -
Please PM me sample renovation excel sheet which I can send to contrators to quote the price. Don't know how to write in detail so as to get itemised pricing.
