Oh... I shifted out a year ago lor... how nice if I meet U before that...
-
That time my floor contractor and carpentery contractor were different person... couldn't remember I did ask for any compensation... I also blur blur thought that the mark would go off after sometimes.... who know it stays there till I moved out 8 years later...

Oh... I faced the same problem for my previous house .... during the carpentry work... they bought a machine that leak OIL.... and the oil went into the granite... there is no way that the oil will be dry up... I stayed there for 8 years and the patch of stain stay there as well... but luckily it was in my son's room... Even with the professional cleaning up the blur floor for me... they couldn't get rid of the patch of stain...

I think cleaning the granite is not that simple... especially when they are blur.... my previous house... the contractor spent >1K to get some professional to clean it...

To Have Or Not To Have?

Having kids is a life time comitment... whether they are young, teenage, audlt... U still have to take care of them... worry for them...I always tell my friends... different stages have different problem... even when they grow up.. If U ask me if I have a choice.. whether I will choose not to have children... I have no answer to it... -
Ya, I used to buy from Crown Prince too... but last year got it from JB... it was about half price... not too sure this year will go again... quite scary after reading so many incidients...
-
I like the Teochew yam paste mooncake... the best price is still from JB...
-
I like nature stone because there is no gap between tiles..... that why I had a house floor is marble and another is granite... but for my present house.. it is Homo tiles... because the nature stone need more $$$.. and also the gap between homo tiles is so much better that previous...

Just to share my experience.... my previous house has whole house granite... it costed >$ 20K that time... now heard that is very much cheaper... granite is so much easlier to take care than marble... my previous previous house was using marble...for granite the shine is always there... no special care for it... There is no polishing of flooring upon completion ... unless U are like me so unlucky that didn't know why the grantie become blur after laying... the contractor paid > 1k to get some prefessional to clean it up... but my mum house also laid granite by the same contractor... didn't have this problem... Heard that the skirting price for the granite is very expensive... because it is very difficult to cut granite into that type of shape... some contractors use other material for the skirting... The price for the granite.... if U are using one BIG piece of granite and cut it to 600x600... after laying... u can still see the pattern of the whole granite.. some granite have the picture of mountain, river, etc... not too sure how to descibe... but it is very nice... this type will cost U a bomb... When I was doing for my previous house... one contractor even brought me to his factory and see the granite... there are some granite even taller than a man... The rest of the granite are ready cut... can't join and form a picture... and granite is natural stone... they have different tone and colour... so the tiler will need to chose the granite... the nicer one put in the living area... those not too good lay for the rooms etc...

Your gas pipe not from below the hob ?? I mean inside the cabinet ?? My pipe come from the cabinet then up to the hob... so I find it is dangerous to put the newspaper there...
-
It is dangerous... because it is too near to fire.... try to store it somewhere else...
-

-
Welcome .... happy reno...do share more pictures..where is your love nest ??
