Hi. Maybe those people representing the authorities don't know how to reply or response to your feedback for fear of getting "shot" by the public now that everyone is watching them. Anyway, with so many residents and the public now watching how they handle the issue, the longer they take to resolve it, the uglier the picture they will paint of themselves and their organization.

Hi She_888, Welcome to the neighbourhood. I understand your frustration and worries regarding the stretch of pavement beside Blk 177 leading to hub. I myself have encountered several near misses with those inconsiderate motorcyclist during the short period residing in Toa Payoh central. As such, my family and I try to avoid walking that stretch as much as possible. I have tried complaining a couple of times to Toa Payoh NPC and urge them to bring up the issue to HDB as well but after more than 6 months, we can see how much the 2 different entities have done....... probably still trying to Tai Chi the problem away. I guess you will have to take photos or write to Stomp to catch their attention. Singapore is really hopeless in terms of the govt taking proactive steps to protect the safety of our neighbourhoods. Like we know, someone has to get killed or injured seriously before any solid actions will be considered. In the meantime, stay safe and keep bombarding the TPY NPC hotline until they get fed up.

The CCTVs can only serve as a deterrence. This trouble makers and social scums will still find ways and means to make themselves comfortable if they are determined to. As such, we as residents will need to serve as the second line of defence. If we see any unsavoury characters or activities going on, the onus is on us to feedback to Toa Payoh NPC - 6251-9999. If every residents adopt a Bor Chap attitude, put hundreds of CCTV around the garden also no use. BTW, I notice that a particular light blue Mercedes E200, SGM 9986 has been making the CRC (Centralized rubbish collection point) infront of Blk 79C his personal "Free" parking lot (at the entrance of the multi-storey carpart) instead of parking in the MSCP. You can find this Merc parked there almost everyday. ]My Webpage What is this guy thinking?? Causing inconvenience to users of the service road (residents can't drop of passengers) and causing all the honking from the garbage truck everyday. Can afford to buy a Merc but can't afford to pay for proper parking....... If any socially responsible see this idiot parking there, please help to feedback to HDB carpark enforcement - 1800-2721409.

Hi Babymaro Totally agree with you. If kids are not moulded from young and discipline is not instilled in them from young, god knows what they will become off later in teen hood or adulthood. Look at the number of spoilt and wayward youths we have nowadays in singapore. For those who have moved in early, i'm sure you would have noticed the large number of teen ah-bengs from the neighbouring estate hanging out at the skygarden prior to the installation of the CCTVs. I believe there was an article of increased teen violence in the newspaper last week.... I strongly support "No beat no grow up"

Hi Neighbours, This is interesting. I stumbled onto this post on STOMP. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=38031 For those who can't see, go to www.singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg Click on motoringgoondus you will see an article of a toyota altis parked illegally on the pedestrain pavement outside 79D. This is a very inconsiderate act. If any of us spot more of such drivers in future, we should report them to the police. It's very dangerous with so many elderly and children using that path to get to and from home.

For those using SingNet like myself, we are all screwed.... time to consider switching once contract ends. Hello people in the Garmen, you think we are printing $$$ in our homes izit or do you think we citizens are cows? Milk us everyday for $$$....... Even if we are cows, we young voters have good memories unlike the older folks. We will become very angry pissed off "Bulls" in the next GE...... Good Luck

Yes. And only capable of complaining why in the world a person like you is born... Just another HELPLESS and UESLESS old man. You are so pathetic that even the crows don't wanna come near you just in case eating your Pea size brain will poison them and cause them to be outcast... Go buzz around in some other rubbish chute.... Stop Bull S###ing here.

Saw this imitation dome camera selling at $25 at SelfFix recently, maybe we should consider installing one above our main door to deter would be cheats and thefts.

I got a brilliant idea. Since many residents are young couples, I'm sure alot of us males still kena ICT. The police should come up with a joint exercise with SAF and maybe we male residents can do our ICT at sky garden. Put up sand bags and machine gun post at the entrance from every block. We can practise "camp defense" while doing our ICT there mah. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Police no manpower, we got alot of NSmen...... Go back SAF also Cho bor....... Might as well guard our own homes . Like that, TC don't have to spend $$$ on card access and residents can patrol the garden. All the teens and undesirable characters will definitely stay away seeing all the men in no. 4 with guns. haha.......

We can spend all the time discussing with the “authorities” and they may suggest improvements by increasing patrol and surveillance. From the way I see it, the only long term solution to the issue is to secure the sky garden solely for use by residents via gated access. Otherwise, it will be complete waste of time. The RC and SPF are only good at suggesting short term solutions. After a few months and when the Hoo Ha dies down and residents start losing their “memories”, it will be back to square one. How has “foot patrol” resolve the problem. Just last night, saw a big group of 15-20 malay youths coming down from the sky garden apparently after turning the place upside down. Would the SPF charge them with illegally gathering or do they just let them off with a warning. If that’s the case, no wonder they keep coming back. Teen delinquents these days think nothing of police warning.

Hi, I have been reading thru many pages of past postings and realised that they are actually alot of forum members living in BLK 79. How come suddenly all seem to have vanished into thin air when we started discussing about the security problem in our estates. What happened to the kampong spirit and purpose of joining these forums when many just keep quiet when we are voicing out to the authorities. Is it our Kiasi attitude or we just act blur because some are less affected than others Come on lah......you can run away from these problems temporarily but you can't hide from them. sooner or later, it will start haunting you too if everyone of us don't do our part and contribute....
-
Wow. If i were you and i saw them doing that, i would go up and screw the living daylight out of them. Just snap their photos with your camera phone and call the police... These kids needs to be conditioned like pets..... once they learn that they can't "piss" around our estate, they will learn not to come back and fool around.

Hi Khim, I think it's worth considering and taking your own measures to secure your new house. From all the crimes being committed here and the negative feedback about Toa Payoh NPC, I don't know if we can trust the MIB (Men In Blue) anymore. They seem to be very ineffective and inefficient these days.
