Yah, the width is for us to decide. Of course we can't go too wide because of space and design constraints. Granite is for us to choose also. It's China one. My heart aches if we find out our reno is too expensive -

THe width is up to us to decide. Maybe because of the granite top, that's why it's more expensive. I think the granite top costs $1000. And if minus off the $750 he gives us to buy hood hob oven, it only costs $2250. Still expensive ah? We also talked to a lot of IDs and contractors, and this is the cheapest we found. -

I've just edited my post. It actually comes with cement base, soft closing cabinet doors, 2 pieces of glass for cabinet doors, 1 piece of glass to put on the wall opposite the stove (for easy cleaning). For hood and hob and oven, he gave us $750 to buy. If less than that, he'll get the difference, else we need to top up. The kitchen cabinet also come with L-shape (at the basin), so it's actually a bit more than 10". I thought it's cheap already :( -

Our kitchen cabinet (10" top, 10" bottom, cement base) with granite top costs us $4000. Our contractor also let us choose any laminate we like and just give him the code number of the material we want. All cabinets are soft-closing + 2 pieces of frosted glass cabinet doors. Is $4000 expensive? -

Redang, PM-ed you already. But none of them is doing my renovation as I said I have very very tight budget. Mine is a contractor (to cut cut cut cost). Woa ... you know some ppl at Blk50? We've visited quite a few of the residences here to ask for tips and recommendation. Which floor is hers? -
Thanks thanks everyone ... Very stressed but excited with this journey

So sad we can't be neighbors. We're at strathmore too, but LOW level . Which level is yours? Which block? Visit our blog for new updates: http://kfcsingapore.blogspot.com/ If you're looking for a cheap contractor, we can recommend our contractor to you. He's very nice, friendly and most importantly, we love the workmanship and feel very comfortable with them. Else you can do your own research by meeting all recommended IDs and contractors that are recommended in this forum. Get some quotations and compare. Your feeling towards the IDs/contractors is also very important. Can also contact me if you want to see our place. But reno is not done yet. I can also give you a list of recommended IDs that I got from someone else in this forum. PM me if interested. -
Anyone knows where to get cheap bathtub? Babylon bathtub is great, but at reasonable price? So far the cheapest I got for Babylon is $300 but excluding the waste disposal. My bathroom is very small, can only hold a 1.4m long bathtub. Unfortunately, 1.4m one is more expensive than a 1.5m. Any clue why? Need to get it very soon this week, as my contractor is finishing the wet work quite fast

My contractor is a HDB contractor. So far I think he's very good and offered the cheapest price among the contractors I've gone to. My house is still undergoing renovation @ Queenstown MRT. I don't mind if you want to take a look at the workmanship in the evening as I also go there to see them work. PM me for contact if interested.

I read in one modern fengshui book that in the ancient times, mirror was tricky because they were mainly heavy BRONZE material stuff - and it's not the mirror, but the metal which plays a part in fengshui. Metal is one of the 5 elements, and can absorb/alter qi (or something like that), thus they play a part. Nowadays, they are not made of heavy metal, so not much of fengshui consideration. Though I must say I have quite some mirrors in my new place to make it look bigger.. beauty considerations.
