Ic ... sound very expensive to me. But i'm not familiar with the price of these items. If interested, you can PM me. I'll give you my contractor to call and see if he can offer good deal. I'm sure he can give cheaper. Don't stick on just 1 firm. Do more research and decide ya?

Hi BunBun and pinkpetter, Hopefully the pattern is not too out, as we're going to replace the toilet bowl and basin in white color. The blue color for the toilet is so ugly, so we didn't want to choose blue tiles for the bathtub again ... Settle on electrical appliances with the best deal so far (unless you got better place to buy that we don't know) : Electrical appliances including GAS water heater and dryer ... Read our aircon analysis if you can't decide whether you want INVERTER or not: Aircon analysis

King Size King Coil Spinal Guard Mattress / Divan
Native02 replied to bladerz's topic in Home Furnishings
The divan may be a bit expensive, but depends on quality. From what we found so far, it's about $300 (without storage). Can get one at Home2be. -
Honeyclub, mind sharing your bought items and the cost? I'm always interested in the price
-
err .... the link you gave doesn't work. Can help to review?

I must admit that I know nuts about fengshui, yet still interested in getting a water feature for my house which is going to be completed soon. Thinking of going to Indonesia to search for it (as it's so so so EXPENSIVE in Spore, >$400), and our contractor goes there quite often, so I may want to tag along someday. (anywayz he's a very nice ... uncle, so he doesn't mind to bring us along). Anybody know anywhere in Indonesia can get this kind of thing? It'll be helpful if someone can show us some places/websites in Spore that have this so that we can do more research first before going down for the journey. Thanks thanks a million.

woa liao. You're so fast. I came in to edit my post a bit, then saw your reply already. Hee~! We know it's a very stressful, tiring and irritating process. That's why we hope to share our experience to others so that they can save their sweats and tears along their own journey. (We wouldn't have to go through this if my father owns a road)

Hi all, my blog is updated about all the IDs/contractors we met. Please check it out if you're interested http://kfcsingapore.blogspot.com/ Next entries will be about the top 3 firms that we was about to sign contract.

Solid Surface Contractor
Native02 replied to atpin02's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Yah, granite is of course much more expensive. I'm not sure if you get a similar price for granite if you only do surface top. For us, because we do the whole renovation with him. Are you doing whole house reno or just surface top? PM me if you're still interested in the contractor. -
Any Contractor To Recommend?
Native02 replied to Gemstone's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Nowadays lots of contractors claim themselves to be IDs, but they're just contractors. The main difference is that IDs are very creative in design, therefore their quotation is also expensive even though they say consultation is free of charge. If you're not going to build a palace, just go for contractors. They've done a lot of projects, so they have experience too. You can meet IDs to get ideas and engage contractors to do it. That's how we can have a nice place at low cost. PM me for a list of recommended IDs that I got from this forum (I met every of them and found out those IDs are not really IDs, more like contractors). I also know some good contractors to recommend if you're interested. -
Solid Surface Contractor
Native02 replied to atpin02's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
PM-ed you for the contractor. He's cheap. But why do you want solid surface? It can be scratched easily by a key. (test it yourself if you want to). Granite is better. I think you can get granite at a similar price to solid top with this contractor. -
I think your quotation is too expensive liao, especially carpentry works. Plumbing and painting are also very expensive. Also, there're a lot of small items that I think you can ask your ID/contractor to do it for free. Since you have to pay for every small thing, i'm afraid there's hidden cost as well. Hmmm ... my painting is only $1000. Can choose any paint. So we chose Nippon easywash and 3-in-1 medifresh. For other IDs/contractors we met before, they always asked for top-up if we want Nippon, especially easywash and medifresh. Don't know why.
-
I also scared. But no choice. No money already
-
Not really. For tiles, we wanted homogeneous, and our contractor let us choose any homogeneous tiles that we want. For laminate, the same thing applies. We got a laminate catalogue book from another ID, and we just brought it to him, tell him the codes of the laminate we want. For painting, it's the same too. We chose both Nippon Easywash and 3-in-1 medifresh and he's fine too. I think it depends on how flexible your ID/contractor is.
-
Yah, I went there today and it was empty. Very scared! Already bought mattress from them and planning to call for delivery next month.

Blurer23, do you mind sharing how much of your lights cost? (every light?)

The window ledge tiles are done too: Tiling with skirting is done too (color is creamy white but appear to be quite dark eh?): So after 4 days of renovation, we see the tiles have been done, and some other hard work like knocking off the wall and building cement kitchen base. The painting should have been done too, but we haven't decided on the colors, but it'll start next week. Very happy with this contractor. He's very flexible and do everything as we want him to do.

Just a few photos to update. Photos are quite dark because we can only take after coming back from work: All our doors are taken off, still don't know why: The wall between living room and kitchen has been knocked down for a sliding glass door later: The cement base for L-shaped kitchen cabinet has been done: The sink is quite small. But then how? We have no choice. House is so small! We choose to tile the cement base with white tiles because the cabinet will be all white later.
