  1. Hi Fire-ice, My bathtub is 1.4m long, which seems to be the smallest because our place can't fit a bigger one. Bathtub: Zeta. $260 (contractor price). It can be about $300+ if you're just a walk-in customer. Hi Cally, Thanks for following up our progress. It is almost done, just small touch-ups here and there need to be done. We're in the mist of moving in as well, and the camera was broken, so can't update anything yet. When everything is done, we'll slowly post the final pictures. To some forumers, If I can't reply your PMs, please be understanding that I'm quite busy now. I'll try to get back to you asap. I'll give you my contractor's number after my place is completely done. It's quite sad that my contractor is super duper busy, so my place is delayed a bit (although he's a very good and responsible person). Let me rush him finish my house first and I'll recommend him to you, else he'll be too busy receiving calls and new projects It sounds to be a negative point for my contractor, but I'm still ok to let him delay the project a bit. It's because he offered to do a few small things to make our house nicer (for FREE of course), and even asked us to use his van for moving stuff over. So from now till the end of the month, we'll slowly move things in
  2. Hi all, Hope this helps : Aircon analysis
  3. I'm borrowing a camera to take photos , but no cable to upload photos yet Last Sunday, went to Malaysia to do some research about furniture. Decided to come back to Spore and buy. Why eh? Will blog an entry about it
  4. Today KFC went down to take a look at the progress of the renovation, but strike some bad luck (dropped the 'only camera that KFC ever own in their life' and it was broken right after that) Don't know how to take photos in the future Very very sad
  5. We bought a bundle (water heater + clothes dryer) from CityGas @ $730. Haven't used cuz house is under renovation. Hee ... but heard it's cost saving in long term.
  6. Hee ... did you call the contractor that I recommended you? How much did he quote? Can give us a comparision? Just want to check out if he's really the cheapest or not.
  7. hee ... you're very cute. Everything goes for display set. I also like the idea hahaha , but couldn't get any
  8. Hi all, don't need to worry. I called them yesterday to deliver my mattress. At first nobody picked up the phone, but eventually it got through. It's gonna be delivered soon. If not, i'll come here and complain so that everyone knows hehehe
  9. Meaning??? Which cost are you refering to? Hee .. our purpose is just to find very cheap and normal furniture for the 2 common rooms. If possible, will also try to get dining table (good one) and a good storage bed frame for MBR. At the same time, enjoy the food over there Will update about it later
  10. Anybody interested in going Malaysia this Sunday? To search for furniture hee .. Furniture in Malaysia
  11. Hi all, If you have any questions regarding renovation (this week), you may contact my hubby-to-be (Frank @93830241) directly, as I'm not very sure about a lot of renovation works. Reason is because he's in army now, so he can't reply your post or your PM prompty. Once he's back, things will get back to normal
  12. I agree. THe floorplan tells everything. THe actual size is just about some cm different. It doesn't make a big difference for getting quotation. Anway, that's what I know, even though my hubby-to-be is the one who did all the job hehe
  13. You should go see skin doctor asap. Last time I got break out due to stress and my oily skin. The doctor gave me medicine called "Roaccutane" which contains isotretinoine. It was like a magic touch on my skin. Have to complete the 6-month course but I didn't have much money, so only ate in 3 months. THat's why sometimes acnes come back haunt me whenever I go for business trip, especially to Europe and come back. But I heard from my friends who also took this medicine said that if we complete the whole course, the acnes will not come back in many many years. It's up to you to consider this option, as the medicine is very expensive. $6/pill which need to be consumed everyday. Also, don't get pregnant during the course and after the course for at least 6 months.
  14. Hee .. 1/ I'm lazy 2/ No time 3/ I'm not a blogger 4/ Lazy
  15. Post more pix when it's started ya?
  16. Hee ... okie ... Oh ... My hubby-to-be is back to army for 1 week. So this week there'll be no news about my renovation
  17. It may be a good idea to have different contractors doing your renovation if 1 contractor is not able to provide all you need. However, I foresee some drawbacks: 1/ The quotations added up may end up higher than a big package deal. 2/ No party wants to take responsibility if something goes wrong. They may push the responsibility to other parties. It's very hard to draw a clear line of responsibilities. 3/ Your project may get less attention (as you already know, since the project is too small). Anyway, you have a lot of time to do research. Take your time eh?
  18. Just to share our cost with you, although this kind of information is quite sensitive to a lot of ppl. Financial statistics Is it ok to share the cost to others? Or not at all? Confused
  19. Haven't encountered such problem. THey only asked for floor plan during the 1st meeting. When I was about to sign contract with Zhi Sheng and Lego house, they went to our place to take a look of the place. But no actual measurement was taken.
  20. Wow thanks thanks a lot for your help. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. I can't afford for a water feature in SPore
  21. @dyns119: Oh I replied your PM before I saw this post. From my experience, you should do research about what you want and get some quotations from different contractors in order to compare. As mentioned in my blog, Ah Soon was the last contractor we met. I felt very happy with him because he's very flexible and honest. He offered to do all the small small things that other contractors always charged us extra. So far there's no hidden cost and he always gets back to me very promptly whenever I have questions. With this kind of service, I always got much higher quotation from other contractors.
  22. WOW ... i'm looking for a water feature too. Do you have any photo to share? Thinking of going Indonesia but also don't know where to get. Is Ayer Hitam near Spore? Any clue how to get there? (sorry i know nuts about malaysia)

You can visit Everjoint and God Ah Bee. Mine is not from any of them, as my contractor recommended another place to get. If interested, drop me a PM. I'll get my hubby-to-be to reply as he has the contact. Read my blog for more details about inverter and non-inverter if interested ya?
  24. I suggest you should give up if they don't respond to you. Imagine this: they're reluctant to respond; what if they accept to do renovation for your house, and there're some problems that need to be fixed? Who would help? 50K is very expensive for HDB. Maybe you can post here what you want to do. I believe the forumers are very helpful to give you more feedback and input. If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you my contractor to call. You can get quotation from him, at the same time do more research. There're plenty of firms in Spore who WANT to work with you.
