  1. Anyone installed an induction system for their kitchen? Is it true that it is not very useful other than looking nice and easy maintenance? Also, its not cost effective comparing electric versus gas? Any comments? Thanks.
  2. Actually most ID firms were given a budget of 45-55k based on the work and theme i wanted. So far, I have approached 5 firms and all expect one gives a clear picture of what will be included. Most of the quotes look dubious and comes with a lot of hidden cost. I will access them further and determine absolutely the minimum amount of work I can live with without scarificing the design of the house.
  3. Its on PVC pipes. I guess sanding it off is the only method.... Some of them are connected up and down to other units and some are for the unit itself so there are actually quite a few pipes with that textured finish. Was at the paint shop yesterday and the owner told me to try applying 'acid' and then scraping it off.
  4. Hi happyfamily66, Welcome to the forum! Thanks for your reply. I have decided to hold my reno for a few more days for comparison and consideration. Do you have pictures of your place that you can share and what are the items that was done to your EM? TIA!
  5. Hi de Pierre, How about on pipes? I think the big problem i have is that the finish was done to the top parts of most sanitary pipes in the house which in my opinion is quite unsightly. Ivan
  6. Hi All, I need to remove the rockstone finish in the resale flat i bought recently. But it seems like after googling a bit I still don't have the answer to how to remove it, especially from sanitary pipes. I know that for wall and ceiling I can either plaster it (is it lasting?) or file it away but for pipes and other similar surfaces, it will seem impossible. Anyone faced with similar problems have any solutions??? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi alan26 , porkypig, Your comments have been very helpful. I will definitely tread more carefully and look more into the details of each portion. I am fine with the ID but its just that the quote is way out of my budget.
  8. Hi alan26 So other then the refute chute cover, laminate brand and some labour i need to clarify, i guess the quote is reasonable? TIA
  9. Hi alan26, Thanks for looking thru it. Replied in red Question1: General Works: How come there is NO supply labour and material to dismantling the existing WC, basin, toilet accessory..etc all that. (included - in the General Works when I met up with the co. to discuss. Will ask the item to be included into the quote) Question2: Masonry work: After hacking the flooring, there is bound to have uneven surface. How come they don't Supply labour & materials to patch up affected area after hacking. (They did include but I did not list it here cos in the quote its FOC) Question3: Masonry work: How come they only water proof your toilet and not your kitchen leh. (Will check on this. Thanks) Question4: You don't intend to plaster the whole house rite. (I need to. Cos the whole house currently in rodstone. Under Fibrous work: item 1) Thanks.
  10. Hi all, I recently bought an EM that is 150 sqm and will be doing extensive renovation. We bought this place because of the location and are really having a hard time balancing our finances.
