Was expecting Bedok Point to be the main central Mall in Bedok but alas it turns out to be a Makan Point instead. However, having said that it'll be great to have late dining as the lvl 1 eateries will stay open till 1am (Mon-Thu) and till 3am (Fri-Sun) Based on comments by the neighbours and those i bumped into while walking round Bedok Point, we still do not have:- - Burger King (previous one near library closed some yrs back). Have to make do with the McD, KFC, LJS and now Popeyes - No Popular Bookstore (mentioned several times esp. for those with school kids) Perhaps with the revamped Bus Interchange starting end 2011 (expected completion 2015) we will have a bigger and perhaps the "main" Mall for Bedok. (with Cinema PLS) Btw, where Bedok Point is currently, it used to be 2 big buildings one housing McD (not sure what the upper lvls were after the cinema closed down) and the other a cinema screening Bollywood movies (anyone remember the kacang putih man there). However, after walking in Bedok Point its seems rather small. Perhaps only equivelant to the NTUC.

Seems we need to start a Citizen-on-Patrol watchgroup soon. Anyway unlike older hdb blks where the staircase is frequently used by citizens, the LG design somewhat isolate the staircase area. A potential crime spot area. Perhaps we can propose to install CCTV cameras there as a preventive measure.

Thumbs upfor the divider build near the coffeeshop (blk 219 carpark). Now no longer have to evade left-right when leaving/driving to the carpark. However, why wasn't a smiliar divider build after the 221 carpark near the multi-purpose hall? Similar problem too. Vehicles parking there blocking the road when the MSC is just beside.

As long as its a small court basis, can count me in too. No full length soccer field for me ... hehe

"Cabling for new network from Sept" Saw the news in Straits Times yesterday. Was a bit disappointed though that Bedok is not one of the few areas which will have the fibre optics cabling installed in Sep. Especially when BB on mobile from all 3 telco seems unable to provide us(LG users) to even up to any decent speed connection.Any chance LG can get the installation done earlier since ours is a new estate?

Well, i think its a great way to keep yourself updated with events in your neighbourhood. I get online more often than I even check my mailbox, so information flow thru online means is defintely more timely and efficient. Definitely better than having flyers in your mailbox or wrose still stuck to your gate.

Tried the delivery service yesterday to wrap up a great evening with Man Utd winning the title. Delivery arrived within the hour. Food taste great! By the way there is a $5 delivery charge for orders below $50. Perhaps we can pool order the food next time yah!

Hope the visiting parties can park their vehicles at the nearest respective carparks so as not to cause obstruction, limiting the road into a 1-way rd instead. However, having said that I'm fine if its only for a short time frame, given the situation. My condolences to the families for their loss.

Now I can't say that Bedok has all the fast food outlets avail. Left with only Mc Donalds, KFC and Long John Silver. Not expecting much from Bedok Mall as long as it has a cineplex will do. Will save me on parking charges especially for those midnight shows!

Guess I'm lucky then. Shifted the MBR SCV point after hacking the wall and also concealed the SCV point in the living room. Ran extension to the back of my TV console. Starhub technician came and activated those points leh, no problems encountered. However, I wasn't at home then only my mum was ard.

Agreed! I too had similar experience without the lights on. Noticed they added more "red" lots for season parking for the 219 carpark. Shld be good news as I'm expecting the carpark to be full on most days especially once Bedok Mall opens in the future.

Well, I'll advise all to instead complete their reno n move in soon, so that all the noise will end quickly. The quicker u all move in, the earlier we can press Starhub to get their signals enabled to all the blks. We may even be able to request for wireless@SG to be extended to our estate.

Almost 2am, eyes pain-pain see the DJIA index tdy. Currently at 9789.75 a massive drop of 535.63. Think we'll see another round of asian stocks battering tomorrow (err I mean ltr this morning). Global market situation looking rather glum with europe now in the same predicament.

Not particularly sure on maxonline, but I have successfully transferred my cabletv to the new house without any charges (catch is u must not modify/temper with the starhub pts) As in my previous posting, they rejected a new application citing the same reason (signal not enabled blah blah), but informed me if I were to do a transfer of existing cabletv to new address it can be done. Faxed over the taking over of keys from HDB to Starhub and appointment done within days. The technician will come n check every room for the starhub pts and paste a sticker there to acknowledge that these pts have been enabled. Using starhub mobile on BB here too. Yup agreed the connection's rather bad, but if i position myself near the window, then I'm on the fast speed. What I did was to navigate to tools--> option --> network, under the network type drop down selection, set to WCDMA only. Hence, upon connection, signal will not drop to lower speed. (Indicator will maintain light blue). The only trade off is, its either fast speed connection or no connection at all since I only set to WCDMA only. End up got to position myself near the window all the time.
