Hi all, seems like not many posts on this forum since 2015. just wondering any feedback for those who had engaged them. How's their workmanship? just not so comfortable that it seems like their name has been changing ideal studio, ideal design werkz and now ideal design.

my ID was Dylan as mentioned in my previous message. The bad point of this ID was that he was always late for appt, it can be as long as an hour + And he does not reply to SMS. He can still be late even though I SMS him to remind him of the appt. However, my hb still can accept it. He didnt take down the code when choosing the laminates for the cabinets. In the end, we had to choose again when my hb & I were having a busy schedule. During the reno, he was supposed to finish our work within four days, just before Vesak Day so that we can start cleaning up during the long weekend. However, the work was not done up as schedule and will be delayed to Sat. Its really left with minor work...just touch up of my study room & installation of the toilet bowl & basin. Yet he can call on Wed night to tell me that his workers are on leave on Sat...His schedule was delayed TWICE. Hence I didn't really clean up the place as it will be dirty again due to the touch up. So we took leave on Wed for them to do a 2hrs job. However, its still not complete...cos they need to do acid washing for the toilet...So our Sat morning is ruined again.... It was delayed for the 3rd time. Completion date from May 27 to May 29 to Jun 2 to Jun 5. We are still able to "swallow" this kind of delay. What I can't take it is WE cut ourselves during the cleanup cos of the Neligience of his workers. I called him up this morning and he didnt even apologise to us. They actually screwed the screw to the plank of wood. The scew was longer than the thickness of the wooden plank. This was something like a book shelf "hanging" to the wall..As its higher than us, so my hb just cleaned it without stepping on the stool & cut his hand while cleaning it and was bleeding. I didnt call Dylan up immediately as its a Sunday. There is not apologetic tone at all when I told him what happened this morning.

Its about $100+ diff during the exhibition promo... Wanted to choose Closet Design cos we wanted to just ve a wardrobe only...which is our initial plan

I just engaged Plush Living. Met Dylan 3 times last week. Its the 1st time that I signed up an ID within the same week that I met him ( this is my 2nd reno) and we NEVER see his work before My impression is that they are not hard selling, hence we are quite ok with it. 1st meeting- @ Expo when we are shopping around for ID but main purpose is to the bb fair. He managed to give us the quotation on the spot with the things that we wanted. 2nd meeting- Wanted to sign up with Closet Design for 1 wardrobe and Clairified on certain "design" issues with Plush Living. He can honor the informal quotation that he had given us. ( cos some of the ID gave us a verbal quotation and its more expensive when we received a formal quotation) And we didnt sign up with Closet Design cos the lady, Angie who served us had an attitude problem. Raised her voice few times at me when she didnt listen to my questions and just keep repeating the cost of her system 3rd Meeting- At my hse, taking measurement (only con is that he was late) Hopefully I can ve a smooth reno with them....

hi, how much is yr damage? I havent gt time to SIT & talk to her yet...sigh... cos of my work...then holiday, then co shifting ofc...so pack & unpack, & pack...sigh... hopefully I can see her this year...

I havent seen the design.....cos still thinking if shld engage them... as we still ve to pay $500 for the design fee & he dun want to waive it off then he gave a verbal quote of $600 for the platform...then it becomes $700 on the written quotation

I ve emailed & called him too....but he seems to ve forgotten abt me.... Hence till date I ve not got a single quotation from him. In his 1st email to me, "Before/after we talk, please help me to fill in what you need (or take out what you don't need) and send back to me, then I can give you a quotation faster. Because nowadays I got a lot of quotations to do.. " And my 1st email to him is on 28 Oct.... Its not that I didnt call...so quite disappointed.....& feel lucky at the same time...cos I dun want to meet such prob if I ve engaged him.

Has he visits your hse? How much is the quotation that he had given u?

Let me just share my experience. I havent meet her yet cos havent got time. But I have spoken to her before. So far she will try n fit into your budget...Pricing is on the reasonable side for carpentry work

maybe I will shared my experience....I havent really talk to him cos I was taking care of my son while my hb is talking to him Impression is that he is quite new or fresh cos he just based on my floor plan to quote. He shld measure my room when he was at my hse. Instead he said he can quote based on floor plan. Floor plan is normally bigger than the actual room size. Quotation is on the reasonable type

Is that 1 or 2 toilets? U put toilet cabinet + basin - $700 Do you mean they included the cabinet & basin @ $700?

I didnt engage them...They came to my hse last sat to quote my study rm only..N it cost $4770. My hb spent about 1hr+ trying to tell them what he wants..but they always cant catch the idea...even though we draw n show him the pictures We wanted to have a bookshelves with some display...then they kept drawing a wardrobe... We said we wanted to put book n displays...then he said inside can have more shelvings.... When hb said we wanted to have a see through glass, they say we can ve a sand blast glass for the wardrobe door. My hb has to keep saying he doesnt need a wardrobe...After quite sometime, the carpenter drew a design like a kitchen cabinet...saying top can put books, bottom cabinet can put books n toys..then the top can put the display.. Finally I took over n tell them to just COPY the design that I want...N the quote comes up to $4770 Most probably I won't engage him... think he maybe able to do nice kitchen cabinet (as I received feedbacks from the forummers who PMs me) but he can't get the idea that we want..even though my hb already draw a nice design for him, top view, 3D view. So my hb dun want to take the risk plus the quotation price is high
