Hi, came across this thread about wall plastering. So wanted to seek advices abt it. Anyone encountered rockstone wall + ceiling? Would like to get rid of them. Being adviced by contractors that the only way is to plaster the walls & ceiling in order to get the smooth surfaces. Is there any other way other than laying new kitchen wall tiles over it? Also heard that plastering is not good as some part might come off like powder after sometime say a few yrs down the road. Is it true? Please help. thanks!

Are you referring to rockstone? We had the same problem at our resale flat. Would like to get rid of it. Is plastering the only way? one contractor told us that there are no more "shifu" who knows how to "polish away" the rockstone wall. But heard from another said tat plastering will not last long coz after a few yrs, it might come off like powder... is it true? scary... Please give us more advices on wall platering... thanks!
