I too have the same peeling problem for my german leather sofa from Species after about 1.5 yrs...And for about half a year, I was just covering the sofa with blanket from IKEA cos it was such a waste to replace the sofa in less than 2 years. Like fussie, I have heard from friends that real leather will only crack but not peel... was quite upset as my husband & I have specifically asked the saleslady if the german leather is genuine leather and the answer was yes. I had given positive reviews about Species in my reno blog before for their friendly sales services and prompt delivery... but now I feel quite cheated.. Haiz. But, at least it is good to learn that some of you managed to get the re-upholstery done at a good deal.... so now besides being resigned to the shedding sofa until having saved up for a new one .. I can try to get in touch with them ....

Yepz, my house is new from HDB and came with tilings, doors and bathroom done up ..... Think they lay the corrugated paper on the day the reno started bah , they covered the area they are doing for hacking first then soon the whole house.... do get them to protect the doors also..

Hi Stanley, Their quality is okay. I do not have things falling apart so far haha... but have incidents whereby the contractor did funny things which I cannot understand ... I found a piece of my green solid top pasted onto the interior of one of the kitchen cabinet and some of the screws did not screw properly or are missing for our cabinets .... when we highlighted to them, they did touch up ... so still alright....Anyway no matter gg with which ID or contractor, also keep an eye on the progress... PM you my quotation liaoz.

I think do more in the preparation stage and cover all the the stuff with big plastic sheet well and the cleaning up will not be so bad... mine is a bit half-hearted and last minute with the newspapers haha ... 先苦后甜。。。 can enjoy the fruits of the labour after the cleaning up .. LOL The aircon installers also helped to clean the debris and vacuum the floor but of cos the fine dust can only be removed with mopping.

Yes, rondy .. you are right ... have to clean up and touch up .. Really should have install it during renovation... But then I was thinking not to waste $$ cos I have survived on fan for so long liaoz at my old place. The weather is very hot now so I decided to succumb to comfort haha

Ashes02, Yes .. very glad to have the aircon in this kind of weather.... Apples, Do share your sofa pics on your blog when your reno is done bah .. Cloyn, The photos are taken with my digital camera, Panasonic Lumix FX7, not DSLR. Actually the original colors not bad also, color enhanced for better effect. Uploaded an original photo for comparison. Original photo Pinkpetter, Yeah, survived! Took abt 2 day to clean up .. The installation starts from abt 10.30am to 7.00pm ... so priority is to clean up the MBR on the first day so that can sleep .. haa .. then the next day continue cleaning after work .. luckily my mom-in-law also helped with the cleaning up. Although need to clean up, still very glad to have the aircon .. Flyingballoons, Really addictive haa .. my next door neighbour also have a set, in fact i think neighbours staying below also playing.. can hear familiar songs from them especially during weekends... Aircon is up Preparation for the aircon installation. Could have and should have done better though... Study room - Not much visible trunking.. but need to do some touch up and repainting. The trunking on the left corner joins to the spare room besides it. The spare room - The trunking goes out from the left corner to the corridor. The corridor - The trunking then goes into the MBR. MBR - The place where it all merges and goes into the bathroom It's on the wall behind the door, not so bad.

Hi Xvirusga, The light green is Dulux- Aspen Leaf and the bright one is Nippon- Spring Green. we got the smallest can of paint ... cannot remember how much per can liaoz .. mabbe ard $15?? .. My 4 rm flat is painted by my contractor - ~$1200. We asked the contractor to paint the wall with the lighter shade first and later we painted the darker stripes ourselves. The contractor finds it too troublesome to paint stripes and dun want to quote the job...

We still have some paint left from our reno. So most prob will be doing the painting ourselves ... but shld be fine, cos the trunkings are white and most ly,our walls are in apple white, may not need to paint. Onli may need to paint the one on the orange wall in the MBR .. See how it goes bah ... It rained this morning, cool and nice to sleep... but then is time to wake up for work liaoz ... bad timing. Yepz sure .. will update on the process ... Will be installing for the 3 rooms, but only the study and the MBR one will be in use since the 3rd room is empty at the moment.. Else later our kid complain in future haha The aircon guy had advised us the options we have on our aircon placement and trucking route, decided on the one we feel is the best so hopefully wun be too unsightly.

Missysg, Hmmmm sorry to hear that .. must be a stressful time for you. I had mine in Feb this year, it went on smoothly, so my impression for them is positive. And most of my friends and relative liked the food there. It is just that my wedding coincide with the Thaipusam so there was a huge traffic jam and think on that day also have 2 weddings @ novotel so guests who were parking in Liang Court was stuck for more than an hour. The green house is suffering from green house effect ! So hot in here haiz ..start perspiring after shower liaoz .. Cannot tahan ... looking forward to the installation of aircon.. kena scolded by my hubby cos I was the one who refused to do the aircon together with the reno cos i think the electricity bill will be high .. and now it will be so much more troublesome to install after the reno is done up. Guess I will be the one to clean up the dust from the installation next wk ..

Hi, The 'white flat' concept is an eye opener for me too!... must be so exciting for the first owner of these flats to be able to divide the space to their requirement. But like what you say .. also means more cost to build the wall.. And I absolutely agree with the rest that your pre-reno is already very nice .. such a pity to see them hacked away ..

Apples, You are welcome.True, one disadvantage abt having leather sofa is that when it is quite hot & humid, can feel that I am perspiring onto the sofa.. so have to clean and wipe it with warm water every week. What's the color of the sofa u are getting? if getting white then have to be extra careful .. my white cushion gets a number of black fingerprints on it haha .. guess it's from the newspapers... And thanks for your support..

Apples, Mine is also "german leather" .... But sorry to say, I know nuts about leather ...I assumed it just mean leather imported from Germany ... Haha We just asked if it is genuine leather or synthetic... They said it is genuine leather so we did not ask further..

Hi Apples, You are right, the sofa is from Species Furnishing . I feel it is a good buy cos it's very comfy haha.. so far so good ... My impression for them is positive, from the time I was served at their showroom all the way to delivery. No problem encountered. In fact, I postponed the delivery date because my reno was delayed .. they helped to store up to one month from the confirmed delivery date. The saleslady whom I deal with was not pushy .. she asked us to go around and have a look first before deciding. A few days before the delivery date, I received a call from them confirming the delivery and the estimated delivery time frame. Punctual delivery. The delivery uncles help to put together the sofa and everything went on smoothly. The dining table and chairs is another happy purchase. Bought them from XZQT, kaki bukit ... the manager there is a nice salesperson too ... No problem on delivery for that as well. Hi bleudust, The coffee table is "inherited" from my hubby's old place ... think it was bought from IKEA a long time back .. it is a storage bin cum table ... Our TV area is not big .. so the small size is just nice. Mrspiglet, Yepz, it does come with the game disc. It's fun. One of our frens went on to get wii after playing at our house keke

The painting I bought in vietnam a few years back actually matched the green theme. And beside it, is our wedding photo taken in Lijiang Old Town.. 上海滩 feel The wedding portrait is held up using velcro tape as we do not like drilling holes in the walls .. we have no problem on this that's why we tried it on our clock.. but the clock is way too heavy.. Friends asked us how we can concentrate on doing work while watching TV through the glass panels... A wise decision to hack away the walls as it makes our place looks bigger. After a hard day's work of taking pictures, it is time for a good meal. LOL.

Used my wedding album as prop since it has been "under utilized" and kept away after the wedding dinner. Haha The mechanical clock that we have been searching for ... Originally it comes with an acrylic cover but we broke it after we attempted to hang the clock with velcro tape .. heartache .. but i feel it actually looks nicer without the cover just that it might get a little dusty without one. New addition to my crockery set - Chicky sauceplate! Originally, I have 2 but unfortunately the careless me broke one. The phone which I bought from Ebay ... and chicky candles .. dun think anyone will have the heart to burn them.. We let our doggies roam wild in the garden

It is lacquered. Ya lor , it's near the shower area, but currently the common toilet is not being used for showers so it's alright for now .. U mean there is a white version of this medicine cabinet? or u refering to another cabinet?

I bought at the Tampines outlet for $99. Think it's from the section with the bathroom cabinets and sink. Assembly wise is quite easy with the instruction provided ... but have to do some nailing .. As for the installation, we asked the contractor to help to install together with other bathroom accessories.
