It is from IKEA ... its supposed to be a medicine cabinet ...
-
And here's a pic of the common toilet ... there is some brown elements on the original wall tiles so we bought wood accessories to go with it. Hi flyingballons, Thanks The decorating portion of the reno process is fun haa .. not like the stressful period when doing the basic reno works and get stressed over contractor/ID.. Payretep. Thanks for the well wishes..

Hi explorers, I got through amazon ... link I am unable to find nice ones here in S'pore leh ... The quality for the duckie curtain is quite good , not flimsy ..

Curtains Up Orange curtain for MBR MBR Toilet
-
The pre-reno pics very colourful! Haha .. All the best for your reno
-
Yepz .. they are from Ikea too. Bought them a few months back, did not see them during my trip there last sat. And the bigger placemat for the plates and bowls also only left with a few colors. So I bought the black ones. Quite a number of items which we wanted to buy are also out of stock... Thanks thanks But think the dining table will be under-utilised, as most of the time, will eat while in front of the TV, seated on the sofa .. Hahaha

The Home We've Been Looking Forward To

Wah .. Think you dad's idea for a mini alter with LED lights is a good and practical one. Ur new white doors are painted by ur contractor? At first, was thinking of painting mine too but was discouraged and told that there will be obvious brush marks but urs looks good.. And the kitchen looks real clean and spacious without the hood and the top cabinets. -
Woot! Finally have something to update again Hahaha ... The dining table arrived without glitch today. Actually, when the delivery guy called us this afternoon we were still shopping in IKEA .. so called my mom-in-law to help us receive the table. Love it! We quickly unwrapped the stuff we got from IKEA, and start "decorating" the table when we got back. Haa And I cannot resist buying 2 cute stuff toy which matched our house color theme. Got ourselves a green mascot for the living room and another orange mascot for the master bedroom.

Hi Zonkkie, That's a very sweet kid's room !!! Guess your daughter must have liked it a lot. The bedsheet is cute too. Liked the way, you only paint half of the wall in stripes cos think it will be overwhelming to have the whole room in stripes ... looks good.
-
Hi Pinklady, Sorry for the slow response .... Ya lor, problems with delivery is part and part of the reno process... i'm so glad that most of reno is done Regarding the stripe painting, for my case, firstly we get the contractor to paint the whole wall to the lighter shade. Then we proceed to mask and paint the darker shade. My stripes are about 15 cm interval .. just nice that I found a postcard of the same width, so i used that as a guide to do the markings in pencil before taping the masking tape. Actually, should also be able to get those level instrument from DIY shops to help get those straight lines, more professional this way haa... Have to take note of the placement for the masking tape though, after pasting the first masking tape, do get the right reference when u measure for the next placement.I am very blur and got it wrong at first ... before corrected by my husband, else the stripes will turn out to be of unequal intervals. Haha Thanks for your compliments. Green is a nice color, you certainly can consider going green The green portion for the shoe cabinet is solidtop ... so now have to be careful not to scratch it. I did not do any reno works for the toilet as the toilet bowl, vanity top sink, shower head are already provided by HDB. Expensive to make changes , so not able to go with the green theme unfortunately. Will take some pics for the toilets after I get them clean up first haa .. currently it is not in a very "photogenic" state haa Your blog is under alan26? Saw the reno for your toilets .. nice tiles

Wow... My husband and I also thinking to do some painting on this bomb shelter area too to beautify it as we did not do a feature wall to cover ... Very cute that u painted the venting hole area as the moon .. haha.. And 2hrs is pretty fast ... think it will take us days to paint such an area ...
-
think most probably have to wait until next year to see the pics of the curtains .. Haha What about urs? When will your curtain from Jimmy Textile be ready? The shop is featured on thrift king tv program last time ... At first, I was thinking to go down JT and see too but lazy to travel so far. In the end, sign with a shop that is nearby...

Found out the hob also got prob .. The one delivered to us is meant for LPG use, only found out when I asked the citygas guy to come down to turn on the gas. Jialat.. And it has been more than one month since the delivery of the hob ... remembered that we did mention ours is using citygas, although think we refer citygas as PUB at that in time... However, what's bad is that, discovered that on the invoice it is stated LPG after calling the shop which we got the hob from .. We did not check properly before signing the invoice .. so only have ourselves to blame. Have to arrange for the service ppl to come down to change the "adapter" so that the hob will be compatible to be used with citygas ... A mistake that cost extra fee... Haiz But luckily, haven move in yet ...so no urgent need for gas.

Yah green and white will be nice ... The roller blind for the study room will be striped too (horizontal) .. but in grey and white . I did not see green-white combi, there is also brown-white ... Actually not too sure if blind will match the room.. taking a risk Haa Hopefully, they have the shade of green that is similar to the one used in my kitchen... then I will be very happy ..keeping my fingers crossed.
-
That's right .. For the living room only though ..thinking of white day curtain with green string curtains. Only saw light apple green samples on sunday.. wasn't too satisfied with the shade but the boss say he has a lot more colors to choose frm and will bring it for us to choose during the measurement. The study room will be roller blind. The MBR and the spare room will be day and night curtain .. shld be the same for both rooms.

Hi, I bought mine from Robinson Centrepoint. Went to courts sleeping clinic to test out various mattress as well. But actually found difficulty in comparing the same brand of mattress because think different shops have different model names for the same mattress ...to make it hard of consumers to make direct comparisons. So did not go around comparing prices, just get the one that we tested comfortable and without budget

Wow nice ... ur wardrobe is so neat, almost like boutique... But I can imagine all the housework to maintain the cleanliness.

Yoz, I am moving in next Feb .. and yepz more pics will be coming up .. some of my furnitures like the sofa and tv console are already in .. Have yet to share the pictures as I am waiting to get the whole living room ready first. Settled another thing yesterday... the curtains .. selected a curtain maker, shld be able to get them ready by end of Dec or early Jan .. lead time is abt 2 weeks after they come down to confirm the measurements. In the meantime, have to make-do with newspapers pasted on the windows hahaha.

Hi FD, Yepz .. agree that it is a very nice color. Love it Hi Apple and Pink, Thanks for telling me more on the charges for the citygas. If no minimum charge, definitely prefer citygas than LPG. My sis thought that LPG shld be more economical cos she survived on the same canister of gas for more than 2 years ! Haa Hi Jacky, The backing for the kitchen is tempered glass. Requested to match with the color of the solid top for the shoe cabinet. Are you refering to the green laminate which I used to reference for the solidtop color? It is from Abet Laminati. Not too sure abt the model, number 460 is printed at the back of the sample I've got. The hanging light for the studyroom is from LC lightings. Not economical as compared to lights I bought for other rooms. It is slightly over 200 inclusive of the bulbs. Only saw it in this shop after walking along the Balestier stretch .. so bought it since I like it a lot.. But function wise, the light is not too bright. One of the reason is that the internal of the shade is green so the light reflected out is yellowish and another reason mabbe that I hang too low. Luckily, the studyroom is glass panel, can "borrow" light from living hall. Most prob will also get a table lamp. On hindsight, shld have used a thicker masking tape as what u mentioned, shld be easier to control as compared to the relatively thin ones I've use. Thanks. Will asked the citygas people to look out for the solidtop and hob .. if scratch sure heartache. Hi Angel, Thanks thanks. Haa when the bell is first installed, I kept asking my husband to go and press the doorbell so that I can see it light up . so silly Hi Jupiter, It is a custom colored solidtop. Topped up a bit for the color customization.

Rondy, It's not raining over at central area of singapore keke... My tiles came with the flat .. so not a choice in my case .. Think grey will be nice too .. especially if your electrical appliances are of stainless steel or metallic finishing. For me I will prefer a lighter shade, as it will make the place looks more spacious bah ...

haahaa ... the theme for the kitchen is flintstone?!? LOL the sink is ....... *speechless* Looks forward to your post reno pics

Junxian, Bingo! It's a hello kitty doorbell... It used to be a musical lantern used during Mid-Autumn Festival. My father-in-law refurbished it into doorbell .. At first, wanted to use our old pager as he did the same for his own place .. but then when we tried using ours ... the response a bit slow ... have to press on the doorbell for a few seconds before there is sound... Then he dig out the lanterns and ask if we wan to use that instead .. haa .. got a lot of choices to choose from .. got ultraman , lion dance head, etc .. haaa think this hello kitty one nicest . Lights up too when it is being pressed keke. The song is “九月九的酒“ .. The are some lanterns with song “世上只有妈妈好“ too but of course that one is not chosen.. So corny.

I suppose the pics are before reno? rounded door openings .. the previous owner must be into fengshui... very retro living room...

The Kitchen is done! Hooray Overview of Kitchen Photo taken using handphone so a bit grainy. Overview of Kitchen Forgot to turn on the citygas so have yet to check if the hob is working... Heard from my sis that it will be more worthwhile to use the LPG if dun cook frequently as there is a minimum charge for availability every mth even if nvr really use.. just like handphone bills .. but too late to make the switch and LPG mean the btm cabinet space will be gone... Any light users can share rougly how much is your monthly bill? Shoe Cabinet + Super Mini "Barcounter" Haa Supposedly not to have handles as we wan a cleaner look ... but then the contractor did not make it in such a way that there is finger access to open without handles .. and he told us that to open we have to push the bottom, which is so crappy .. so we asked them to install the handles. Something that dun match the green theme ... Guess what is it? Haaa
