Hi, I'm interested in the sofa. May I know whether the sofa is still available? What material is it made of?
-
Hi. I custom made a similar one for my girl from Country Style Home Furnishing. They are located at the Furniture Mall in Sungai Kadut. They have ready ones on display but because we had certain requirements, we had them custom make one for us. The bed was delivered end of nov and till date, have no complaints about it. Hi. Thanks for sharing. I never knew they sold bed guards (they call it guard rail) in Ikea till I saw your post. Anyway, we went down to get one, but realised that it doeasn't work for my girl's bed as it is too low after putting in her thick mattress!!! Any otherbed guards that you know about? I know Piccolo House has the one I'm looking for, but they will only sell it if I buy the bed from them (which I didn't).

Thought that Ikea would too since they have a specialised section for children's furniture. Have checked and they don't sell bed guards. As for the one at ToysRUs, it's cloth material type. Not the one I'm looking for. I'm looking for a wooden one. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your reply.

Hello. Anyone has any idea where I can get a bed guard? I custom made a bed for my daughter but the shop does not do bed guards. I need to fix one at the side of her bed to prevent her from falling off the bed!!! I'm looking for one that's made of wood and preferably white in colour. So far, have only seen those plastic/metal ones.

Hi BlueFly, Thanks for the offer. Am quite busy at the moment (coz told myself I shall monitor my reno more closely after some hiccups initially). Will let you know if i'm interested.

Hi BlueFly, It'll be nice to see some latest pictures of your nice reno. Then I can imagine how my red and black glossy laminate kitchen will look like! (Currently just finished the floor tiling works) .... Am now keeping my fingers crossed that I won't regret choosing those glossy laminates coz the cleaning is not gonna be easy! LOL Thanks for sharing on the backsplash. Will most probbaly not get it coz now over-budget already!

Hi BlueFly, You've got an exotic name, "carnoonxy" sounds like some kind of granite, slate material ? No matter -- yes, the Blanco came with 2 s/s perforated stoppers that you plug into the respective drainage hole for each bowl, as the sink has 2 bowls. I like the stopper design -- as you said, you simply press the stopper down to stop water draining out of the sink bowl, and just pull up slightly to let the water drain out. Thanks for the info! Your blog was also very useful as it provided lots of info on reno works. Nice house too! Btw, I realised that we used the same red tiles for the common bathroom, except that mine was not a whole part of the toilet but a few red and yellow ones here and there for design. Also noticed the price of the tile has gone up. It now costs $3.50 instead of $3. We also have the same red cabinets for the kitchen! Btw, how much did you spend on your back splash for the kitchen? Am thinking of doing one too. Is it worth doing?

Hi, can PM me the name of your contractor and the company name? Tks.

Hi Bluefly, I just bought a similar blanco black granite sink like yours. Glad to hear that it's a good sink! Phew! Btw, does it come with two stoppers (the type that you press down to stop the flow of water) for the sink? Btw, anyone ever tried using the type of kitchen tap where you can pull out with a hose attached (like restaurant style)? IS it recommended?

Hi, can anyone help me with the following questions on curtains please? 1. Can anyone give me a rough estimate on how much it'll cost for full length curtains for a 4 room flat: day and night curtains for living room, block out curtains for master bedroom, and full length curtains for daughter's room and study room??? 2. Thinking of doing roller blinds for daughter's room and study room instead as wanted to use the space below her window for her toys but don't like half length curtains. Any comments on which is better - curtains or roller blinds? Which is cheaper - curtains or roller blinds? Anyone got roller blinds from DnaLife before? Thank you.

Oh dear! I just bought a samsung tv from Audio House last week. Delivery on 20th Nov....dunno whether they will still have stock by then for the ht-x715??? It sure won't look nice if I move into my new place with new furniture and tv...with a gap in the tv console for a missing audio system! Haiz...should have discovered this thread earlier....now can only keep my fingers crossed!!!

Oh...dunno leh....the lady brought us upstairs to see the bedroom sets and towards the end of the room (not the special room with only children's furniture) we saw some simple and sweet looking bed sets for children.

I was there on tuesday to look for a bed for my daughter. When the sales lady recognised us and realised that we've been there before, she started pestering us to buy the bed from her. Though we didn't say that we wanted to get the bed from her, she started taking out her sample fabrics and asked us to choose the fabric for the bed. When my husband politely but firmly insisted that we were not buying but just looking around, her reaction changed and she gaev us a 'black face'. We left the shop. In fact, this was our third visit to the mall (and her shop) to browse for furniture. The first time we were there, a very fishy incident happened. We were served by an Indian man who did not show an interest to entertain us at all. When we asked him how much the bed was, he claimed that actually they do not really do retail as they are more of a wholesaler. Then he went on to brag that they mainly supply to shops at Park Mall or sold wholesale overseas. When we questioned further why they opened a shop at the mall if they do not do retail, he responded that it was so that wholesalers can check out the furniture they have! Then he told us that the prices at their shop is much cheaper than if we were to get it at Park Mall. After we checked out the price the single bed, he told us that if we were interested we must put a deposit on that day itself to guarantee we get it at that cheaper price...then can decide later on the design we want. Needless to say, we left the shop without committing as we weren't happy with the guy's arrogant attitude in the first place! The second we went to that mall, we dropped by again...this time we didn't see that salesman but there were two very persistent ladies. When we enquired about the price of a bed, one lady told us the price and then quickly walked over to her collaegue and told her we wanted to buy the bed and to write the invoice for us! We were taken aback by the totally different attitude from the first visit but we declined (as in the first place we didn't even say that we were going to get the bed, but merely asked about the price) and left the shop. I'm really very suspicious about this shop. Needless to say, I got my daughter's bed from another shop in that furniture mall instead.

Hi. You can check out the Piccolo website at www.piccolo-house.com. The one I custom made was like the white princess bed you see at the Piccolo website, but it only cost me $1260 for a super single, with 2 trundle drawers below, increased the footboard length (to prevent my girl from falling) and mattress. And it's made from solid wood (as claimed by the company). The one in your picture you can try Novena at Sungei Kadut. I saw a few similar ones there on tuesday. Hope this helps.

Hi, I also went to many places looking for children's furniture (bed, etc) and also came across FBT. However, decided not to get from them as I find their sales people at IFC very unfriendly...so I decided to try elsewhere. In the end customised a bed from Country Style....next door to FBT. You can also try Ikea or Piccolo House...which has nice designs.
