Need Help On Finding A Good Property Agent!
kaylinpickles replied to kaylinpickles's topic in Rent/Sell Properties
thanks for yr advice ontheroad! yes, mine's a HDB. i tot of posting my own ads but i always feel that agents have got a wider database (true?), plus coordinating the visitation the agent can also do so i don't have to answer all these phone calls myself. then again i've always been skeptical about approaching these agents thru flyers hence i'm hesitating. unfortunately there's nobody i know who can recommend me a good one. for commission i know its negotiable right? 2% is abit hefty especially when i don't think i can sell my flat at a really good price. not prime location you see -
hi guys, not sure if this has been answered before, i couldn't find anything on it if so, pls direct me to the right thread, thanks. basically i intend to sell my flat but i don't know any housing agent. how do i go about looking for a trustworthy and reliable one? is it advisable i just randomly pick one from the flyers dumped in my letterbox and doorstep? or should i just look for a flat 1st and contact the other party's agent? would appreciate any advise, thanks!

i think what liawzen meant was he opted not to have any kitchen tiles so there wasnt any in the 1st place.

oh so your flat is the size of two 3 room flats? so cool! never knew hdb has such "5 room flats"

oh wow i LOVE how the set top box/bluray player are hidden inside your tv feature wall! very clever, where did you come across this idea? i have a question tho, are the players ok being put vertically? will not spoil or anything? also i noticed they're fastened, what happens should you decide to change a new player in future where the height/width is different from your present one? can the fastener be easily bought in stores or you'll have to contact yr contractor/designer to custom-make a new one?

cant help but be skeptical. how can we be sure this is a pic of your home and not a "client's"?

How Much Can We Save If We Hire A Contractor Instead Of An Id ?
kaylinpickles replied to purecat's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
omg, well said! its abit like buying insurance actually. not saying all these things will definitely happen during the course of reno but sometimes gotta be cautious and realistic abit. i guess engaging someone to do the coordination work for me will give me a peace of mind. -
How Much Can We Save If We Hire A Contractor Instead Of An Id ?
kaylinpickles replied to purecat's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
i can't decide between an ID and contractor! problem is i know what i want clearly so i dont need an ID to input ideas for me. on the other hand i really dont like to go on-site supervision myself. being self employed i do have flexible timing but i'm inexperienced afterall so even if i were to go there to look see i may not know what im doing right/wrong. anything in between? maybe like engage an ID who does not charge me for design work at the same time get him/her to liaise with the contractor lol -
Ikea Kitchen
kaylinpickles replied to snoopy2006's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
ikea gives 25 year warranty or something on their kitchen systems right? what does it cover? im a big fan of ikea and toyed with the idea of getting them to do my kitchen but i dont really fancy the style of their cabinet doors etc and i realize most of their cabinets got handles which i think handles are like out of fashion these days lol -
Laminated Flooring
kaylinpickles replied to Drexter's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
supreme really that good? i have a dog at home which will pee on the floor sometimes so i thought worse come to worst i'll have to make do with vinyl planks if laminate is outta the question. looks like i still got hope afterall! lol -
im looking for this type of flooring too!! wanted to do laminate at 1st but i heard the floor will creak when you walk on it and will warp when in contact with water? i hv a dog which will occassionally pee on the floor so i think laminate is out of the question. my grandma has vinyl flooring in her flat (some call it rubber mats) but i dont really like the look of a whole piece of flooring. i think it looks cheap! the good thing is there are vinyl planks these days that mimick the look of wood so i really like that. some got those click lock function just like laminate as well. i hope the IDs and contractors hv lobang for that!

ugh i think your toilet isnt all that bad! the 3 room flat im eyeing on only has a space of 1500x1500mm which is a square and basically can't do anything except to hack the two bathrooms to combine to become one. what abt repositioning the toilet bowl and sink? anyone knows if HDB approves that?
-
whats the difference between blum & ABS? do they basically manufacture the same stuff like hinges, drawer baskets etc?
-
hi guys, any suggestions on how i can incorporate these two into a tiny 3-room flat toilet? As you know some 3NGs toilets are reallyyyy small, usually 1500x1500mm square so I was wondering besides hacking two toilets to form one, are there any workarounds? Anyone knows if its possible to reposition the toilet bowl and sink? Not sure if HDB will approve or not.

Frosted Glass Door For Common Toilet
kaylinpickles replied to aerial77_00's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
im thinking of having glass door for my toilets too but worry about privacy since i don't think my guests will like the idea of it. im ok with its only my hubby and myself but i really can't think of any alternatives since i think bi-fold doors are really ugly maybe unless i paste something on the glass door like white paper or something on the inside. gotta have 'em glass doors!! -

kellish, show us some pics or do up a t-blog when you reno. i don't think its wise to say he's the best when you haven't even started. positive reviews from others do not guarantee all will be like that. you really don't want others to think you're affiliated with the company -
hi poppylove, i love shopping at king & king wong! their cake stands and cake tiers are so pretty tho i wish they bring in more variety. wheres the SSF in JB? do they carry the same stuff?
-
