A close friend of mine used to stay in a condo development in Siglap with a Malay Cemetary next to it ( I think those familar with the East will know where) back in 1999. This development kana en bloc recently liao. His was a 2 storey apartment unit. His TV on 2nd floor will turn on by itself occasionally during the Chinese 7th month during the day, as his maid will feedback to him a few times when he back from work. He was also been told by his then 2-3 year old daughther that a certain cartoon character keep climbing on the ceiling and refuse to come down and play with her. He never thought too much and just laugh about it. So finally one nite when he woke up during his sleep, he saw this old lady silhoulette sitting on the antique chair in his room, looking at him. He was trying to get up but just can't. Thinking he was just too tired, he closed his eyes and open again, the figure still there. So he panic , and then started to say the Lord's prayer (Christian). He opened his eyes again and the old lady was gone. The next morning, he verified that his wife did not woke up during the nite. He think back of the stories from maid, daughter and from that moment, he decided to move house. He only told his wife about the incident 1 year after they have moved. His wife freaked out...

Don't like their service... hard selling sales man. Keep walking behind you... I know what customer service is... but the salesmen are just irritating! Find their furniture so, so only, Nothing to shout about, as can find elsewhere too (if not better designs). Pricing wise normal market price. Not excessive but not as if super good deal either. I initially bought a dining table with 4 chairs. Then found elsewhere nicer designs and price similar. So went back and changed to kids' bed instead + wardrode instead. If you've t confirm your delivery date (eg. waiting for renovation to complete), don;t expect the salesman will call you up to check. Make your own call to the warehouse and arrange hor... Look around. Don't make the same mistake as me. If you see something u like in Nova, it's likely that you'll find it elsewhere too (and likely nicer)

Cpf Vs Monthly Installments
kaile2002 replied to quoo's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
The prices have gone crazy for DBSS flats.. I was shocked they were asking $500K - to over $700K! I bought my 5A in 2000 and monthly paying slighly below $1200, but still wipe out all our CPF... Then early this year plan to move. Like Cityview location but not eligible to buy. But when look at their price, decided to buy private in suburban instead... at least at $700K, I have the facilities to enjoy during weekend. Came to realised that I may not have great open view of the City or the National Day fireworks, or near to city (no thanks to the traffic jam at Boon Keng every morning, and you still got to pay ERP anyway!) But I've got pool view and breezy wind, and yet close to HDB amenities (in fact closer than that of Cityview's) What upside will Cityview have? $1 mil in 5 years time? Privatised in 10 years time and add condo facilities? Actually i worry for my kids... by the time they get married, don't know how man... I guess his old folks got to leave $$ for them. Hopefully they make it in life and do better than their old man. -
Bought this in JB. Size about 18 x 18 inch This one for Christian. Seen in one bookshop in Johor Jaya.

try the shopping centre in JB, where they have Jusco Dept store and next to Austin (i,./e after Carrefour). A few shops on 2nd floor selling home deco things. They have nice decos like clocks, antique Telephone, bedside lamps and wall features too..

Check out Courts Mega Mall (2nd floor where they sell fruniture)in Tampines (next to IKEA). Saw some paintings on canvas (replicas) of Budda. Quite big size. And price is surprising reasonable. They also got other painting sof landscape, fruits, plants etc.. with frame. From as low as $28.... Too bad my CO is Christian... so cannot buy and put at home

Delivered on 9 Sept
-
Tell him because Singaporean go shopping during public holidays, that's y he needs to open for business
-
U place a deposit first. Then when near to delivery date , 1 week or so before delivery, u pay up the remainder. They don't collect $ upon delivery for obvious reason. My previous purchase was 8 years ago. No problem with it. This time round also buy in JB. Just hope everything ok. One piece of advice though,. Better to get from bigger and established furniture shop (eg/ MIVA, Rustica, Lorenzo then those small ones). Though u'll never know.. The furniture shop I bought my things from 8 years ago is no longer in business Happy shopping..

I just bought the Fanco Aroma 54". Haven't install yet as house still under renovation. I suppose it's good bah.. cos many friends recommended. I guess it's nice to look at and yet serve it's function. Paid $350 with remote and installation from Balestier Road . I thought the price was good, cos before buying , I went to visit House of L#$%@ in Tampines.. Was interested to buy some of their ceiling lights, so sit down talked. Then I asked how much the Fanco Aroma. The China girl sales girl quoted me $438. I straight away jump up from the chair and walked-out. Don;t even bother ask about the price of the ceiling lights I like. She also shocked. Cos before that I checked was around $380 in some other electrical shops.

Never Get Furniture From Nova At Trade Hub 21
kaile2002 replied to kingzkong's topic in Home Furnishings
Should have read the forum before I visit their show room at Payar Lebar last week. Was "pressured" into purchasing a dining table.. $899. Regretted not look around first. 1) Their staff very hard selling.. follow u up & down. I know u need customer service.. but this is nuisance. 2) Keep saying sales over (original price $1,599) but since no instruction from boss, will continue to sell at sales price of $899.. advised me to place deposit , if not tomowwo no more discount..etc. 3) Keep saying can't get better besign at that price elsewhere. Being naive, place deposit.. but regretted once walk out of showroom.. Then went other furniture showrooms and found better designs, quality at same price. Am prepared to forfeit the deposit with them. Take it as tuition fee. May be they do the same with furniture on sale here? -
Just made some purchase at Miva today. Was surprised with the quality there. I was expecting similar quality like those sales item in Singapore shop. But i was presantly surprised. 3+ 2+1 L-shape sofa, 1 Dining table with 6 chairs (love the thick temper glass top and chrome legs.), 1 King-size bedframe, 1 coffee table. RM$8000. Transport free. LevyRM $100.+ GST. I must say they do have quite a few nice designs. Value for money SImilar sofa in Sinapore would have cost me S$3K. Got it RM$3K. Dining table-S$2K (4 chairs). Got it RM$2.6K. BEdframe S$1.2K becomes RM$1.9K Coffee Table - S$500. Got it RM$500 Delivery early Sept. I'll try to laod some pics later. Now got to go sleep...

There will always be bad IDs and bad customers. Bottomline is we have to be professional about it and deal with each other fairly. i.e/ Homeowners - Don't expect all ID to provide u with 3D plan easily. They need time and efford. No commitment, no plan. Fair enough. Not even looking at the computer. IDs - Don't expect owners to commit to u the very first meeting. Especially if you slap a huge margin in initial quotes. Be sincere with your quotes. I have following experience:- 1) ID A gave me an initial quote which was at 30% or more than norm eg/ a) Painting job = $1800 (service provider = $1,400) b)dismentle 1 built-in wardrobe, simple wall feature in dinning & living halls = $1,100 c) PArquet varnish = $1,100 (service provider =$800) d) marble floor polish = $1,200 (service provider = $650) I wanted to do living + dining + MBR, painting, floor polish. Initially thought their customer service was good so can listen what ideas they have. 2nd meeting ( i went to their office), ask price can negotiate or not., by pointing out the ridiculous cost of floor polish. "No" was the answer. Ask if can show me a 3D prespective, they say doing it. Showed a bit on the computer and say not ready So i ask them to give me a call when the 3D plan is ready to view. Knn.. waited for 1 week also no call from them. I only learnt later from friends that ID don't show u 3D plans unless u have sign the contract, or pay for the plan. I didn't know that mah.. tell me u need some consideration (i.e/ $$) from me and I'll decide there & then if I want to go ahead. I also understand there's no such thing as free lunch. 2) ID B - quoted me a replacement cost of $15 per kitchen cabinet handle. I found out later it only cost $5-$7 per handle. Labour charge of $350 to change 2 bathroom mixer & shower heads! u got to be kidding me. I thought they r not sincere, so thanks & no thanks, walked out. May be mine is a small job for a resale condo, unlike extensive reno which cost $50K or more, hence they not interested. Just sharing my experience.
