Pretty much up to the individual's definition of 'cheap', resale/EM ain't cheap in the first place. Got it at 473k total, $23k cov. Unblocked view, near to parent's place, Lorong Chuan MRT coming up, amnenities all near, sheltered from traffic sight/noise, quite cool for me Heard prices all asking over 500k for any unit on my block/neighbouring block now, so I think I'm lucky in a way. Anyone come across nice EM designs? Or contractors who does a good job with your EM? Will really appreciate recommendations!

Hi all, thanks for the welcome! The place is facing NYJC, Serangoon Ave 2. I think there are much more EM available at the Serangoon North right? Took me a while to find the right unit there, which is very near my fiancee's place. Got it at a good price too; OTP signed about 2 months ago, prices for rocketed since then, even for low units! Scary.

Hi all, Just joined the forum, and zoomed right to this topic through a search. I'm getting the keys to my Serangoon EM before october, but intending to take my time to reno it, cos work is busy till start of dec and wedding is next May anyway. It's a 20 yr old unit 6th floor unit facing NYJC, nice open view, good price, but everything except for the marble floor have to go. Some things I wanna do for living room... Build a raised platform for the balcony - the parapet wall is extremely high, not very comfortable to get a view! Paint it in nice neutral colours and use wall stickers to decorate it. Change the railings and add wood strips to the steps Other areas haven't really thought of it yet. I'll appreciate contractor recommendations and picture galleries of EMs to get ideas, since I'm really just starting out on thinking about all this, thanks!
