I will be heading to balestier road to look for Downlights. I got a couple of questions to ask about downlights before I head there to one shop by one shop recce. 1) Normally how much does each cost ? 2) Usually how much distance before another piece is needed, as in how to determine how many pieces u need ? 3) Round one or Square ones cost more ? Which one you all think is better ? What are their difference ? 4) How is the electricity consumption of downlights ? 5) Lastly, anyone is using it now, care to share lobang on which shops you get it from ? Thanks all I will try on this method, give me comments if it works ok first hand, let me explain my current situation ya. This 4 Room A HDB is ard 20+ years already, and obviously we are staying in it. (whether or not we can find a temp place to move out, not sure) My parents have got a certain budget to meet. I find out that doing the Whole House, which include misc things like a TV console, mounted wardrobe, bla bla bla cost roughly ard 30K for a 4 Room ? (pls correct me if I am wrong). Therefore I wld suggest that I ask my ID to design the whole hse and calculate see how much in total. Then we meet up again to see how we can exclude the not so neccessary stuffs to bring the final quote to be within my budget. It is ok ?

Yup wad i heard is ard that price also... hmmmmm but sad to say got budget leh, so i am trying to use this tactic of asking my ID to come up for design for the WHOLE HOUSE but den slowly slowly see which one can be excluded to meet my budget...

Hi TS, I am at the same stage as you are. In fact I m even unsure to hire a ID or a contractor directly, but I guess I will go for an ID to come up with a design den follow up.

Ok so is an ID and a contractor work hand in hand. guess the bottom line is I am confuse whether to get a contractor or an ID directly. lol

Sorry if I ask noob question whats the difference between a Contractor and an Interior Designer... I know a contractor will "do" something out like make a wardrobe, make a kitchen cabinet out of materials, whereas an ID only design ? Lets say if u engage a contractor den will they enage a ID to help draw ?

I research ard, find that he charge too pricey. Will need more inputs from u guys while I continue to source for contractors. Anyone has any contractors to recommend can PM me. Thanks.
