  2. hee...the only pic we have is frm the first time she's been there(first few pgs)...we're still moving things up so to bring her now would be a bit tricky as we got no hands to hold her leash with our hands full of things...but yes ! we're gonna bring her over when we finally do move in. and dear, no need to envy la...as long as its your own home, no matter whats inside, u will still love it and feel that its d best
  3. i bought the same washing machine ~ using it now. only complaint is the express wash sometimes finishes with the washing still a bit soapy (using as little soap as i can) and it is quite noisy...hubby tot an aeroplane was going off when it dry spun....
  4. how was the dinner ? haha...all i can say is that i still need a LOT of practice ! had problems controlling the stove fire, still getting used to my oven and its controls and didnt really have the right cooking utensils....spatula was too soft and 'bendy'..promptly bought a nice and solid one right this weekend at the robinsons expo sale. this was my menu : baby potatoes sauteed in butter and olive oil with herb lobster bisque (bought the bisque, added in crayfish for the bite) honey pistachio arabian baked chicken lemon and mustard lamb here is a pic of the chicken broiling on the stove in the pan on the right before baking and the lobster bisque simmering in a pot on the left dinner is served ! we served 4 pple. My mum, my best fren S, hubby and me love our long table that can place all sorts of dishes of all sizes and my mum's precious noritake dining set bon apetit ! one serving size....
  5. Since you haven't start a blog I guess we gotto discuss this here, paiseh tuababy! HL is the most expensive of all the Aventos lift system, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's around 200. Also, the lift system consist of many components, and they are all sold separately. e.g. the hinges, the lever arms, the cover etc etc, and ALL the prices of any Aventos lift system depends on front weight of your cabinet door, and cabinet height. Cost of HL system. Hinge - 40-50 per piece (depending on weight) x02 = 90-100 Lever arm - 20-30 per piece x02 = 40-60 Cover + cover cap - 2.79 x02 + 0.61x02 = 6.8 Total with GST = 177 or so.. plus ID mark-up? = 200+ Your top cabinet is a glass door? I'm using a 800mm glass door with alu frames and my Aventos HL cost around 130+ for the whole set. I don't have a pic of just the glass door, but you can spot it in the kitchen pic. For HS you have to have enough clearance on top of the top cabinet, if not you can't open the door fully.. So for my case I can't use HS becos of the cabinets on top of the dish rack. I don't have a bi-fold door so no point using HF. Can't open my top cabinets if I use HL, so it's only down to one choice..
  6. No lah, no lobang, just curious which ariston oven so hot-selling, sell until no stock.. You can consider Teka too.. Or SMEG. All quality ovens..
  7. Which Aventos are you thinking of using? HF, HL, HS or HK? $200+ sounds kinda expensive to me, unless you are using the HL. Or unless your top cabinet is very wide.
  8. I'm using solid wood at my bay windows.. Nice feel and not as expensive as granite which I was considering at first.. I had laminated carpentary at my old place and they didn't last, started to peel off in a while, probably becos of the sun..
  9. Which mayer's ovens are you looking at? Ariston?
  10. I also put my spare tiles in the storeroom and the wifey has been nagging at me to throw them away!!! Women!!!!
  11. Hi Jesslyn, charemme is right, metallic laminates are get scratched easily and scratches are very obvious. I'm also using metallic laminates in my kitchen. but mine is stainless steel instead of gold. No matter how careful the carpenters are, sure to have scratches here and there. One tip for you, ask the carpenter not to peel away the plastic protective film after he finish installing the kitchen. You will still need to move stuff in, like fridge and washing machine. The plastic film will help to protect your cabinets from scratches.. You can always peel it off yourself when all the things are moved in. Our kitchen with the film still on..
  12. Chpt 20 : kitchen culture Its finally time to open this nice little box...something i've always dreamed of..for a long long time YES! its my Kitchen aid mixer ! no more will i complain that cakes and souffles are not fluffy enough... there she is sitting pretty beside my other equipment, the coffee machine we have since moved over to the proper cabinet so as to make space. here are our Kai chopping boards in end-grain bamboo and wood. they just look and smell so pretty for now.. am going to cook my first meal this weekend with a gal fren...wish us luck !
  13. thats nice! Sure!! We take turns to open hse la...
  14. It's not a nespresso machine.. It's just a normal automatic espresso machine. It doesn't use capsules, instead, I pour whole beans into the the container on top. It will then grind the beans into power and then makes the espresso and then ponk out the used coffee grounds into the waste container at the side. Nespresso is good in the sense that you can always try other flavors of coffee by just using different capsules, whereas in a normal espresso machine like mine, i have to use up all the beans in the container first then pour a new type of beans in.. And if i don't like the new flavor i would have wasted buying a whole bag whereas it's just a capsule for nespresso.. But I have more settings to play around with on the espresso machine like mine e.g. water temperature, amount of water in a espresso shot, coarse or fine grind for the coffee, auto on in the morning etc etc..
  15. I'm using this Krups espresso machine.
  16. oicee ok la still fernvaler how long have u stayed in your place ? i'm starting to get used to this sleepy little town...so relaxed and comforting, away frm the noisy cars and city pollution yea! me and my gal pal are starting this weekend ! she loved the ovens and can't wait to use them to cook as well moving in ah...everytime we select a date, we fail to meet it, due to simply too many things to move in and we are doing it so slowly....
  17. haha sure..let us know when u wanna come over for chit chat...welcome welcome
  18. Buy buy buy!! Muahhahaha.. It's great to have a espresso machine in the house, no need to spend so much money for espresso at outside cafes liao! I bought my Aerocinno from the MO seller, it's a local set, with a invoice from Taka, comes with full warranty. Does he still take orders for capsules?
  19. thanks we didnt have an overall theme for the house, unlike some who have balinese, modern, retro, country...we just sought a comfy home to come back to at the end of the day...
  20. hehe thanks babe! been to your blog and lurve your mirror-like cabinets too ! and haha thanks for the warm welcome which blk do u stay at ? mine is facing the basketball court
  21. My electrician got the switches for me and I just paid him accordingly from the price-list I got from choo chiang, so no, i didn't get charged for GST. But if you walk-in and buy those switches they might charge GST depending on how good your bargaining skills are.. Heater switch would be the 20A switch, it comes with LED. I wrote the price down somewhere before but just can't seem to find it so if i remember correctly it's around 20+ per switch.. Do note that 2 way switches doesn't come with the orange "Ondicator", so there will be no indication whether the switch is in the "Off" or "On" position.
  22. Just remember that you will be running Eubiq through-out the house so you don't need power-points switches.. Here's the price of the bronze Zencelo switches before GST. All without LED. Do note that I got these prices a while ago, it might have increased by now.. 1 gang - 6.30 2 gang - 9.90 3 gang - 15.15 SCV - 13.50 Tel - 15.50
  23. Yup, that's Hydrostyle.. Will go and get the smooth shower hose if I'm around the area then! Actually the rainshower head was the first time we bought, and it all started from there...
