  1. pls advise price for bay window with solid wood contact, tks

  2. fifteenmay, are you using front load washing machine? If you are, there's a certain way of putting the outlet pipe into your drain hole.. If you just drop the pipe into the floor trap, the water wouldn't drain properly, it must be above a certain height, go read the instruction manual..
  3. Home for 4 Our home for 3 now needs to make room for four. Yes...we are expecting a new member to join our family soon and sad to say our TV room must now become a kids room Therefore, we have to sell our beloved Lorenzo sofabed to make space for the new cot..i love that sofabed..very very reluctant as it goes so well with our room decor and we hunted high and low for the perfect piece. we took excellent care of it and hope it goes to a new home where the new owners will love it too. 3-seater Microfibre Sofabed Color : Tangerine Sell price: $270 (negotiable) No delivery, self-pickup from our home Here's an idea of how it looks in the room
  4. We chose a shiny cream color with timber looking lines (but it looks shiny gold here) and light yellow day curtain with lines Matching roman blinds for the side window for aircon ledge Living Room We used a chiffon 3-colored day curtain and a dark green-gold night curtain behind for this look u can see the green-gold clearer here
  5. Finally Curtains ! Many moons later, we finally got our curtains ! Must commend Jimmy Textiles for their speedy and good service. No problems at all. Their selection range is huge at their shop. The salesman, Lucas was helpful when needed yet leaves us alone to choose slowly - no rush at all. On the day of measurements, they turned up on time and expertly measured and left quickly. We requested them to bring our samples down so we can confirm on the colors and they did. On installation date, they did it all in under 2 hrs, rails and all. Curtain rails fit perfectly with no gaps. Material wasn't 100% blackout but the 80-90% is dark enough for our comfort - finally can sleep in, in peace Verdict : SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS MUCH EARLIER !! Here are the pics..... TV Room Close up of TV Room curtains. We chose a taupe brown velvet fabric and white day curtain with dots Study Black shiny roller blind. 1 pc is heavy but they said its better as there are no gaps with light leakages Master bedroom curtains
  6. Hi, sorry for the late reply... The main job was done as part of the package with the carpentry, so I wouldn't know the exact cost breakdown.. If you are doing carpentry works try to ask the carpenter to do the door as well lor.. Cos it's a labour and time intensive job, normally carpenters are quite reluctant to do it cos it's not profitable for them to waste so much time. Also, it depends on what kind of laminates you use. Ballpark figure is around 400 to 500 to re-laminate the main door.
  7. Angmoh uses chef knives, and we asians probably grew up with a Santoku-style type of knife. Both of them have different style of cutting, you use a rocking motion with a chef knife as oppose to a chopping style for Santoku. So if we are talking about Henckel knives, most of them are chef knives. They have Santoku knives too but that's another topic. Using a chef knife require you to use the tip of the knife as a pivot point and then slice in a rocking motion. You actually use the weight of the handle to help you in the rocking motion. Too heavy and you will struggle with it, too light and you will have to use more strength so weight balance refers to how easy or difficult it is to do the rocking motion when you hold the knife. Bottom line is, you have to be comfortable holding and using the knife. Here's a good video on how to use a chef knife. The chef is using a Henckel Professional S chef knife.
  8. Froggy, The difference in price between the different series depends on whether they are one-piece construction or 2-piece with a joint at the handle. Some have longer handle for bigger hands, some are heavier than the others, some have different weight balance. I prefer a heavier knife (which makes cutting easier) but the wifey would struggle with it. So it all depends on personal preference, you have to hold the knife and see whether it fits comfortably in your hand and whether you are ok with the weight. I'm using the Henckel Professional S series and it's one of the most popular worldwide. Try not to get those knives with metal handle, it's very slippery to hold esp when your hand is greasy or wet.
  9. After staying at our "new" place for almost a year without curtains, we finally decide to get our lazy asses off the couch and go hunt for curtains.. Went to the usual suspects for quotations, finally decided on one.. They will come and take site measurements tomorrow, will post the pictures up and give reviews when they are done..
  10. Thanks.. We spent around 40k for the reno.. As for the ID, I've sent you a PM..
  11. More workspace.. Esp if you bake a lot.. rolling dough and stuff.. Storage wise you can always re-organise your existing stuff, or throw old stuff away to create space for new stuff in the cupboards.. But once you allocate your workspace that's it.. you can't add more worktop even if you want to..
  12. Hi Froggy, We have similar kitchen layout over in Fernvale Court and we can't extend cos the entrance is next to the kitchen! Workspace is really pathetic but it's still ok if you are a light cooker..
  13. There's only one fridge to match your colourful house. And it matches your SMEG oven too!
