  1. I recommend uncle chew for curtains. No office no show-room no shop but very pro and good service. VALUE for MONEY.
  2. hi all may I ask is it normal for mcb to trip whenever there is heavy thunder? I had shifted my mcb before from store room to kitchen as my store room was hacked away. Any solution to this?
  3. hi, HDB was prompt. The officer called me at noon today and sent a staff to inspect my unit at 2pm. The staff then went to the upper unit to contact the occupant. As there is no one at home, he placed a memo at the door. At 4pm, the staff came back to my unit and informed they had inspected the unit above mine and discovered that their mbr toilet flush system had choked causing water to drip non-stop. The occupant had told them that they will get a plumber to rectify the fault. Hope they do not take too long. Regards.
  4. hi, I had just moved in to my unit which is on the 9th floor. After staying for 2 weeks, we discovered that there is water dripping noise from our mbr toilet at the ceiling pipings. The noise is so bad that despite the toilet door is closed, we still can hear the noise. The noise lasts till morning thus, disturbing our sleep. Just wrote to HDB, waiting for their response. Would like to hear from the forumers here. Should I live with it or there are solutions to it?
  5. Hi, I wonder if any fengshui expert out there can reply to my 2 qns abouts fengshui, 1) I am sleeping with my wife on a bed with our legs facing towards the walk-in wardrobe door but away from room door and windows. Is this acceptable in terms of fengshui? 2) Currently, I had hacked away a wall and combined my mbr with my study room. Is it good in terms of fengshui to have a room bigger than the living hall or dining hall? My dining hall is indeed smaller compared with my mbr but living hall is not. My living hall and dining hall is a L shape. Appreciate all replies. Thanks & regards
  6. Thanks Beck for replying. It is possible to paint- $50 bucks per door- same price as re-vanish.
  7. In HDB, unless u do false wall or false ceilings, otherwise u cannot hide the trunkings but the air-con men will advise on how to minimise the sight of seeing trunkings in the house. Taking into considerations that the water will drip from the fan coils all the way to the toilet, trunkings has to be slanted slightly for the water to flow smoothly, if there are too many ups and downs, your pipe will get choked easily. Gas pipe has no issues. For me, all my trunkings are run just above the tiles skirtings and then reach upwards to the fan coil units(water flow down), though not ideal like those in condominiums where it is concealed but is better than on the beams- different perspective. Ofcos, if all the trunkings are at the top, probably ur air-con can save the job of connecting the trunkings up and down- very much depends on the structure of your house. My advice is to get the air-con to explain why they install it in this manner, to see if their account is reasonable before engaging another air-con company.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Hi sinner, I came across a vanish removal at one DIY shop. So if I use this, the naytoh door will become "brand new and unvanished". I then do a base coat with sealer, apply gloss enamel paint over. Will this work? Regards. Hi yoongf, The first step would still be to remove vanish and make it to brand new. Which spray painting would do the job? Regards Hi sunset, I am getting ID to paint for me the whole house but ID say cannot be done because Naytoh door cannot absorb coloured paint. But when I ask the tilers, some say cannot and some say can be done. Probably I will do it myself. Regards.
  9. Can someone help pls? Wife wants it white in colour but checked with few paint shops all say naytoh wood cannot absorb colour paint, even my ID says so.
  10. Where to get the stainless steel bar which goes round the balcony? I have a balcony which has a waist level height and in my opinion poses a risk of falling over. Anyone knows where to find one of this as shown in the picture? My old flat is on the second floor. ^^
  11. Hi Herman1609, Mine is a repurchased flat which has a balcony similar to yours except it is smaller. My balcony already has the windows and grills which I am going to remove them. From your picture posted, I can see there is a round bar around the balcony wall top, may I know if this is by default or u get contractor to do it for you? I am thinking of doing the round bar which adds up the height for added safety. Thanks in advance.
