That's really costly! For mine, I am not sure if its expensive anot... I did full house, wiring, re-locate some wires and points, total for 4 rm flat is $1,500. At first I think he quoted hubby $1,700, but we bargained as ours is new flat and my sub con also told me for new flat should be around $1,500 for everything.... hope that helps...

The day I got the permit to hack was in fact AFTER 1 MONTH! KNOCK A HOLE ON THE WALL FOR 'APPROVAL' BY PE & HDB OFFICER AFTER IT WAS HACK! OOPS! MORE SPACIOUS! OUR NEW PARQUET! MUACKS! I LOVE IT! Jessie, you too? Haha! But mine is progressing very slowly, yesterday just started carpentry only... *FAINTZ* Some carpentry works, abit only, they have not fabricate the black granite yet. Pardon the pics with out the granite MY SINK, NOT YET DRILL HOLE FOR THE TAP (TO BE DONE BY PLUMBER NEXT WEEK) THIS IS THE 'HOLE' FOR MY STOVE. (SAW THE GAP IN BETWEEN? i GOT A SHOCK, BUT LUCKILY THE CARPENTER SAYS HE WILL 'MOVE' ABIT TO CLOSE UP THE GAP) HAHA TA-DA! DONE, BUT MISSING GRANITE! LOL! I paid $3,688 for Mitsubishi Inverter System 4 (Starmex) And change to better copper pipings... They installed until my pipings and trunkings all NOT the same as per discussed! Finally had a solution, but I had to pay $100 to another contractor for their stupid mistake! Will deduct when the final payment comes....

Hope I can be of help! I am currently doing my own renovation, with my hubby... we DIY our house... heehee We design our own house and we co-ordinate everything. But, the first part is the hardest... because I am hacking away 1 wall (Between Msterbed rm & Common rm) 1) Use a licensed HDB holder to submit for approval 2) Engaged P.E to endorse the layout on the hacking part I took 1 mth to get the approval, as mine is the new house, we need all endorsements... and my P.E must be at my house with HDB officer on the day of hacking. So during these 'free' time, I did the: windows for my service yard dismantle the parquet flooring anf skirting Run gas pipe Finally, start of renovation... 3) P.E and HDB officer came to my house on the day of hacking works (remember to do protection of your flooring if you have) 4) Electrical works, tiling and base 5) Plumbing works, to run pipe for sink 1st, and install water tank and accessories 6) Air con piping/ trunking for whole house 7) False Ceiling Up to now, only my false ceiling.... they will complete tmr. So after, I work out works schedule: 19 Jul : Painting to Masterbed rm and common rm 22 Jul: Install parquet flooring & skirting (2 days estimate) 26 Jul: Meeting carpenter to finalise my carpentry works (takes 2 - 3 weeks to fabricate my stuffs, cause I choose different types of interior PVC, blum system etc.) 1 Aug: Aircon installation, testing & commissioning Meanwhile, go goodrich/Xessex to choose wallpaper/ find dining table. Bought some lights already, still need to buy a few more, but later, since installation of lights is the last stage. 11 Aug: Send my hoob & stove 11 Aug: Installation of carpentry works (Abt 3 - 4 days) 11 Aug: Maybe ard this timing install wallpaper 20 Aug - 21: Install glass door, mirror works 22 Aug: Holiday 25 Aug: Install lights/ curtains 29 Aug: Cleaning works what else did I left out? Heehee I had bought alot of items, not sure whether they are cheap, but are good lobangs I sourced around one

I am so messed up... sorry for MIAed... My hse totally messed up because I could not find that bloody contractor. Sorry, dwg is 'drawing' in short. I engaged a HDB licensed person to help me submit for permit, paying him $150.00. So, after helping me to submit, he totally MIA because mine has to re-submit with the p.e endorsement drawings and layout! When HDB finally helped me to re-submit, I need that bloody contractor to help me re-submit the date for demolition.. But he was no where to be found. So, HDB called him, and questioned him why he took my money and not submit anything for me, and we had HUGE arguments. Haiz.... (the contractor and me) Long granny story.... Finally, and finally. he is scared because he is the HDB licensed holder. He finally help me to re-submit the date for demolition when my officer called him and chided him.... His shop? Its always close...... Definitely cannot find him when I go down to his shop.... Really glad that the whole saga is over.....

Let me share mine just in case some of you may want to do hacking works. We decided to DIY, and it was not easy for me, and its driving me up the wall 1) We engaged someone to help us submit for HDB approval. It costs abt $150.00. 2) HDB does not approve, so we have to get pe to endorse on my layout and a SED0514 form. Costs me $300.00 3) My HDB license person who help me submit did not respond to me. I really went crazy because I had paid him. Called him finally and he cut off my line! 4) I cried when I spoke to HDB and they help me to submit cause I cannot reach that HDB license holder. 5) Finally gave HDB the layout with endorsement and the form, but, we need elevation dwg. endorsed by the PE. (Glad my colleague who knows, and she helps me to draw, otherwise, gonna spend $ again) 6) Finally approved! But. HDB needs the contractor (Who is MISSING) to submit the date for hacking works! And I had already engaged the PE to go to the site (Had to pay $250 for his trip) and the hacker, BUT CANT! Because of that MISSING HDB LICENSE HOLDER WENT MIA I am so messed up and stuck now. I really dunno what to do anymore. The whole process has been gng eversince 28 May!
