It's partly my fault too when i am so lazy to do the checking till everything's up. Stupid me Have to call my contractor later to ask her the solutions available. She'll definitley not redo and tear down the bottom cabinets - Too costly. My frenz say maybe can adjust the height by redoing the drawers portion but it'll be ugly. DUnnoe how ugly. Can you guys help me ask ur contracor abt tis? whether it will really be very ugly and whether it's possible to adjust the height of the drawrs? Please!

i'm not a technical person. I jus wanna a drawer with a depth of 14". Jus a simple instruction passed down. I even told her the things I wanna put inside so the depth cannot be smaller than tat. Yet the depth was less than 11". Tats a lot smaller! Not a little bit as she told me lo. Will speak to her tml and see what she propose. Really waste my effort and time to do all those measuring at home. Felt like a fool. Luckily hubby din laugh me for being so silly. I din even dare tell my family tat the drawers are wrong cos they see me standing in the kitchen at times with the measuirng tape, a paper and a pen, always staring into space imagining the layout and positions of the items to place in the kitchen. Tis is so embarassing!

nope. cos i'm at IMM. so hubby too tired to travel to serangoon. actuali u can choose either round or square shower head right? so the small handshower? oso the same? I need the handles to be square too and the handshower to be movable. cos some I notice are attached separately on the wall and fixed, so I cannot adjust the height. i seriously wanna ask my contractor to redo cos it really kills my mood. i already dun cook much. now spoil all intention to even learn. haiz. i guess gg to ask her for solutions first. It's so troublesome to transfer and it can be so oily and messy when you have to wash the funnel and clean the bottle cap opening sides.

This was the original measurements which we agree upon. I had spent effort to measure the tallest bottle at home so that I can place them all in the drawers. I even imagine myself the process of cooking and where it is convenient for me to take certain things from which position before I design this layout. Yet it was not done to my expectation. Only to blame myself for my stupidity.

I wanna kill myself and jump down! All along, I have been too lazy and stupid. I trust my contractor that the drawers are deep enough to place my bottles of oil, seasonings etc in the kitchen. Today, I wanna try and to my shock. Nightmare happens I gave her the measuremetns to be 14". She told me the carpenter cut slightly smaller than 14" but I dun have to worry. So I din go check. Now when I place a 11" bottle of 1 litre oil, I couldn't even close the door w/o knocking down the bottle! Why am I so stupid!!!!!!! I have to wait until the whole kitchen's up with the granite up then I go check. Aiyo Tell me what to do!!!! Buy smaller bottles? Then in the first place why give measurements!

ok i get what both you and my contractor are saying. the shower bar is taken out may really damage my tiles. plus there's no more HDB wall tiles available to replace! hmmm headache. thanks. will check wif my contractor again.

hee hee so you saw the painters. I din even noe what went on until the whole thing was done. But they really repaint the whole wall.much better but too bad have to repaint again cos they forgot one patch. Poor things as it means the whole wall as the paint used doesn't allow touch up. lol well my contractor says it's easier to clean leh. i oso headache dunnoe whether true anot. i think no choice jus have to try out stay inside first then decide again. hopefully she's nice enuff to do the level up then.

yup. mine is a new flat. so have hot and cold water. i think the blue and red markings indicate tat. but i jus asked my contractor. she said will be ugly if reuse. the shower head will not be directly on top of the mixer but to the side. din ask her y but i guess buy the whole package safer ba. all same design. haiz so when you guys install the shower head, how much are you charged? i was charged $60 to $80. but toilet accessories FOC la.
-
thanks for your reply. so ask stupid question. can use exisitng HDB mixer tap? haha
-
hello! great to see you online. well how's the shower head? tried yet? i hoping for a close up. couldn't find any on their website. I'm more interested in the shower head, so it comes with the big head and the small one and mixer taps right? then the taps are in what shape? square or round? sorry urgently needed to buy so dunnoe whether can rush down today to take a look in their showroom. hee thanks ah Sorry mrspiglet for using ur blog.

Thanks mrspiglet, you have been a great help! well my pipes are all concelaed by HDB. very neat so no worries over tat portion. haha gg to check out the promo. it's great though i dunnoe whether I want the WC amd basins since HDB ones seems fine to me. But nonetheless thanks for the lobang!

Well the main purpose of the storage area is for putting my photo albums, liquor etc. Shoes oso can if I do not have enuff space in the other shoe cabinet.
-
lol no la. even the HHS door oso ard 3 ft wide lo. die. my drawing not clear ah. haha
-
yup. my capentry is up. plubming, last few electrical works and the kitchen glass backing are the last stages. i haven't buy all my toilet accessories, so i'm the one holding back the plumber haha
-
well 12" is indeed 1 ft. Well the main purpose of the storage area is for putting my photo albums, liquor etc. Shoes oso can if I do not have enuff space in the other shoe cabinet. I go measure my slippers, dun need 12" so much haha
-
haiz I oso dunnoe leh. SHe say if I insist flush agst the wall, the depth of the cabinet will be too small for me to place anything. hope this is clear explanation.

Spoken to my contractor on the areas to rectify. She was prompt this time. She actually did the re-paint during the long weekend on Sat w/o my knowledge. (Pleased with her initiative - guess she really wanna wait until capentry up. I din even have the change to go protect my carpentry incase of paint spill! Luckily dun have. Guess the workers very careful. Anyway I oso din scrutinze closely. Too busy pointing out the problem areas lol) For the level up at the window ledge, it was due to HDB uneven walls. Sianz. But she was willing to paste another laminate over to make the space btw the wall and the level up smaller. For window grills, I din do exploreres' way. My contractor says the laminate is easier to clean than the window metal portion. So I believe her ba. The 'big' gap btw the window and grills is cos of the handles. sianz again. For the kitchen cabinet doors knocking agst each other, nothing can be done too. If I increase the gap allowance btw the cabinet doors, the other door will be very very small. Dunnoe true or not. But I guess she cant and won't tear down the whole cabinet right? lol So really have to use those small plastic protector. Double sianz why must have sth on my laminate! aiyo For my HHS door which isn't flush with the wall, she explained that the thickness of the plywood is fixed. Plus she has to do a 12" depth for me or else I cant put anything inside. Ops I forgot to ask her why she din reduce the shoe cabinet measuremtns then? (Must ask her tml) I really dun like the door not inline with the wall. So protruding. So far, my contractor lives up to her name. She's willing to retify and acknowledge problems. HOwever, for big issues, i guess she still try to smoke. lol (My personal opinion la cos I cant accept the ugliness but perhaps she's more experienced to say the ugliness is for functionallilty) Overall, pleased with her patience. I think I'm not a nasty customer. But I'm definitely not an easy one. I have questions on everything, which she always try to explain. Twice even when my sleepy hubby din get what she said. haha

hee true. very rush but see how ba. cos new place is nearer to hubby's office, so he dun have to travel so far...... Wow! I was hoping for a cheaper one haha. Glad you bought a few things to pamper urself. Cos I'm gg to do tat as well. Spend first then heartpain later lol. So all the best! May your moving in oso smooth and relaxed!

replace solar film. hmmm well can check with ur contractor ah soon ba. Good! be a proud owner hee hee well my hubby hopes to move in b4 18th but we haven't buy impt furniture like mattress and dining table yet. haha aiya see how lo. oso cant confirm whether retifications will be smooth anot. dun want to move in with reno still gg on. too dusty for my liking. oh yeah saw ur rain shower, the one with the square shower head. what brand is tat and how much and where you buy it from? oso plan to get one but then dunnoe whether useful and practical anot since never really use one b4. heard it's difficult to shampoo ur hair cos it's right on top and not slanted at an angle for ur head to tilt back at a comfortable level. (pai seh I'm sua ku hee hee)
-
Oil patches? how come? aiyo i guess you really have to let go. Lay toilet paper wasteful and not a long term solution la. Actauli when the construction workers built the HDB flats or condominium, they already slept, eat and do biz in the place b4 we even move in! haha oh yeah Qing Ming. My reno oso completing. Can handover within this week if I accept the retifications. No good dates to move in? must really wait until end of Qing Ming ah. hmmm abit too long leh 2 more weeks leh. Hubby wants to move in soon too but I want auspicious date to move in if must move in b4 end of the month. headache. at least you can still wait. but will feel very excited right? everything's ready when furniture all in but house owner still cannot move in! haha but then for good luck. so you must endure!
-
congrats mrspiglet! ur reno nightmare over. so far retifications up to ur expectations? no more problem with mis-use of MBR toilet? Glad you made it thro. but how come cant move in till end of the month?

Can I check whether there's a particular need to buy certain brands of rain shower? whats the average price? it seems that rain shower use with citygas heater is fine. the water pressure still acceptable. Can double confirm whether it's true? Thanks

L-shaped Kitchen...my Door Will Knock To Another Door
Kari replied to bubblepearl's topic in Carpentry Works
well my cabinets do not have handles. hence, sticking on tat rubber protector is so obvious on the laminate. even with drawers on one side, when you open the other door, won't it hit the drawer?
