  1. Hi alyplwwf, I think the last time I heard from them, they were saying December. That's school holidays also ^^ Hi CutePinkElephant, Thanks ^^ Not very sure using contractor or ID yet. So far only got two quotes, so still waiting. What about you?
  2. Hi alyplwwf, oic! Sounds like quite abit of work to be done D= So latest when must decide? Oh, I think if possible, during the 10 days upgrade, can arrange let your girl stay w ur parents/pil. Don't think the dust and noise is healthy for a little girl? Hi Nano, Not really that big lar 7m x 2.7m And must fit the dining area inside also, shifting the dining room out with the living room instead of with the kitchen ^^
  3. Hi wismchan, Congrats on your new house! WOW! That's the first time I see pink electrical DB box and cornice O_o
  4. Hi alyplwwf, I'm on the 6th floor ^^ Bunk in with your parents don't need to shift furnitures right? But if want to do reno then think need some where to store them. The quote from the ID is Earnest, contractor one is Ho Bee. I selected both C. The light color one =P
  5. Hi Celestial, Thanks for the info!
  6. Hi alyplwwf, YA! Blk 61! You? 60 or 61?? So happy to meet a neighbour here =^-^= I am gonna hack the wall btw living and kitchen. Find the place dark and kinda gloomy with only the tiny window >< I love to cook, that's y I'm gonna place a glass wall in between. So hopefully the place will be brighter with more natural lights passing through but can block the fumes from the kitchen. Initially me and my hb wanna an open concept too, we discussed putting a C-shape kitchen layout, with the end nearer to the living room a bar counter... but, we luvs chilli and spicy things, so... Hmmm, actually, I don't get much area left after the cabinets for tiles. Still a case of 50-50 i think ^^ I think if you really want to renovate, this may be a good time. Even if you don't renovate, the HDB hacking will make enough dust for you to cover everything =P So might as well do the reno and get the dust all over together. Perhaps you can bunk in with your parents/in-laws during the upgrade? I also went to the Queensway SC one before. She talk talk to me, then say will send me quotation... that's like 1.5 mths ago... still no sound no shadow I'm thinking of homogenous tiles. By the way, what option had u selected for the upgrade? A, B or C?
  7. Ya! The fixtures were free gifts! LOL Apparently they still offering fixtures as free gifts Oh ya, so sorry, my eyes are X_X
  8. Hi chronograph, Thanks for the prompt reply. Still waiting for my quote from them, just sent Johnson the specifications this morning ^^ Glad that the reno had been quite smooth for you. Oh, I just checked, my PIL and BIL actually did their places up with Zhi Seng 4 years ago not 2 as previously mentioned. From what I can see, their place are still in good conditions, only thing that 'fall apart' is the fixtures for towels and mugs in the bathroom of my PIL house =X Oh, can I also check with you what items you will be doing that are included in the 12k? Thanks
  9. Hi chronograph Congrats on your new place, very near your move in date already ^^ Can you share share how u feel about Zhi Seng? My MIL place done up by them, so is my BIL, but those are like 2 years back. Had just talked to Johnson with regards to a request for quotation. Thanks!
  10. Hi zeeqi Thanks for the uncle contact. So sorry I've been so late as replying as I was in US for a month =^-^=
  11. Hi SmartFool, Thanks for the highlights. I sure need aircon. Thinking of 3 split unit, one living room, two bedrooms. Must think on the trunking issue too... i hate the look of trunkings >.< Oh ya hor! Must confirm with him on SCV points. The 2nd bedroom (study) need it for internet =P Will note and make sure the paints are geniune and not in other containers. Thanks ^^ Actually, I'm not really for wall tiles. I've stayed in UK without wall tiles in the kitchen and it seems alright even with the daily cooking. Not sure yet... pondering... For the toilet fittings and heater, I think HDB gonna install for us. They told us that we have to have all the things on hand for them to fix during the assigned period.

  16. Hi Helix Congrats on your new place! We got similiar layout, except that we don't have the extra utility room! Where is your new place near? What is your planned schedule for reno? Eh, the appliances can buy in advance and ask them send a couple of months later?? Hope you find your ID soon~ I'm still sourcing.. so far only 2 replied to my request for quotation X_X Enjoy!
  17. Thanks Jessie ^^ Thanks! I also prefer a simplier design and lines, easier to clean =P Planning to start the reno in Dec or so, move in maybe end Jan 09, hoping to get all done before CNY (26, 27 Jan), then can invite friends over for CNY celebration + housewarming. Hi hposnm, Think there are pro and cons to it. We gotta wait a year before moving in after we got the place~ and have to go by the HDB design for the toilets =P Think with what you and babytan said about the dustbin, I really should reconsider the dustbin. X_X Won't be able to see the 'washing area' from the living room with the splashback taller i guess =3 Thanks for the tip on keeping the chute insect free. I hate cockroaches..... especially when they fly X_X"
  18. Hi zeegi, Thanks! I am using google sketchup with a plugin renderer Podium I planned to put the ironing board in the wardrobe actually, the right side (35cm). As for the vacuum, thinking of placing it on the tall side of the shoe cabinet, about 45 x 37cm space. Haven't go check if the vacuum can actually fit in tt space though =O\P We actually got it way below market price in Jan 07 from HDB in WIS ^^ Think the price shot up because of the new 3RM tt HDB gonna build there ><
  19. Dining Room Table to flush with false wall (to hide pipe ><) Inlay with Red Mosiac Tiles (30mm wide) Two benches with storage inside Left side = mirror Colors In Red, Gray and silver Had updated my floor plan with all the funny protruding portion on the walls. Also changed the window position
  20. Hi babytan, Thanks for sharing and your complement *^^* I also thinking wanna put refuse in cupboard or not, reason y i put it inside was tt i saw someone in the forum say the cupboard can 'block-out' some noises from ppl throwing rubbish upstairs? by the way, new rubbish chute tight? i v scared kaka and rats D= WAH~ your old house v similiar to mine leh! the floor same same just tt mine green, the toilet also same same w the scary pipes~ the arch also~ where u get your main door? so nice! hmmm, seems like our final floorplan also quite similar ^^ i also planning to do walk-in wardrobe, but in 2 rows one side 650mm one side 350mm. Still work in progress, will do it later ^^ must go vivo now~ laterz
