I chose to sell my 5 room hdb at $455K instead of renting out. I bought my hdb at $210k(after 30k grant). Initially I planned to keep both, hdb for rental. BUt I am just too risk adverse and afraid of issues with difficulty to find tenants, problematic tenants etc etc plus other hassles and finally gave up and sell off my hdb. M still holding on to the proceeds.. Contemplating whether or not to reduce my outstanding loan of 700K, or standby to buy another property when market crash..

I want to know too, appreciate if someone can help with this..

anybody has good lobang for capentry works ony? I need to do quite a number of capentry works for my new property. Eg: Feature walls, full height cabinets and storage cabinets in different rooms etc. I place great emphasis on quality and workmanship. Company must be established enough that one wrong doing will tarnish its reputation so that they will definitely do a good job. Must be able to give reasonable period of warrany against defects and poor workmanship. Price is not a factor as long as they can DELIVER the kind of workmanship and quality. PLease share if you know of any, thks alot!

Think the problems lies with his wife.. Was so bent on having him to do my second renovation. My first reno was done by him and I am very happy working with him. However ever since his wife took over, I have problems contacting him, or even clarify things with him. KNowing that I will have to talk to his wife most of the time, I dropped the idea of getting him to do my reno for my 2nd property.. Patrick once promise to do something for me, but halfway through he didn't complete. I know that he will keep his promise so I didn't push him. After 4 years, I need that rectification to be done, so called patrick up to ask him to complete the task.. Cannot contact him as the call was always transfered to his wife, his wife insisted that no such thing as patrick will never promise to do it for free. She was so convincing that I thought I am wrong and even apologized to her. In the end, I spent money to ask someone do it instead and realised that Patrick has already done 90% of it. This proves that I am right, his wife is wrong, Patrick did keep to his promise, just that he did it halfway as I expected. Problem is his wife do not even bother to ask Patrick to call me and I have no chance to clarify with him. I am considering ah keong.. Since mine is a new private property, I just need capentry works.. Patrick is really a very nice guy, very easy going and honest. He never fail to rectify any problem and his attitude is always so good. But after 4 years, I realised some problems with the reno, called him- transfered to his wife.. and I felt so stressful to ask her rectify things cos she is totally different from Patrick..

My reno was done up by ho bee 5 years ago.. Given Warranty of 5 years then and expiring soon. recently we need them to do some touch up and stuffs cos I want to sell my flat. I am glad that they honor their warranty and willing to do for us. Sometimes it is really about trust and reliabilty. I will update if everything is going smooth. So far, I am very happy with Ho bee, a right choice indeed.

Not sure if that holds true for everyone. But once you are his confirmed customer, he is quite prompt in attending to your needs.

nobody can be more unlucky! One thing after another. My waterpipe tape came lose and caused leaking. Even after my hubby re taped the pipe, water still leak! So in the end I have no choice but to call up patrick on a sunday afternoon. Feel really bad about this. He came to my place in 30mins time and personally fix it for me, no black face, nasty tone, nothing.

Everything settled swee swee!!! They got back to me very promptly, when I told mrs quek I am not free on certain days to monitor the paint job, she said she will called me back to arrange. I said no hurry, so I did not expect a fast reply. But she called back 2 days later to arrange another day. That is FAST consider that they actually took weeks to get back to quotations.

Patrick have sent men to my house to remedy my walls yesterday. The good thing is really the prompt actions. However the worker only help to apply the white cast over the cracks and left without repainting the walls. I asked him if he can repaint the walls he said that he don't do painting. Well, lucky we have some left over paints so we paint back the walls ourselves, not much to paint actually. But the problem is we can't reach the ceiling! So no choice have to email patrick again so that he can ask someone to repaint the ceiling for us. Actually, we could have asked patrick to sent his men to repaint everything since he can't leave the job half way like this, but we feel abit paiseh to trouble him down again, also the repaint job is really easy so we do it our own lor. Now have to call up mrs Quek to update her liao. I am very sure that if we ask them repaint the walls etc, they will still fulfil my request with no complaints one, just that we also do not want to trouble him with little things since he has been so wonderful and accomdating during our reno times. But for the ceiling, we really have to trouble him liao cos we dunno how to become spiderman Thanks mel for the compliment, post up your photos soon! Glad to hear that you are happy during you reno process. We often hear horror stories regarding irresponsible contractors, really lucky for us that we met patrick. Wow! So they actually got back to me in two days despite the fact that I was a past customer who is asking for free service! So you can be assured that once you are his customer, you are one for life. I would say that eventually those who got the chance to sign up with them(meaning those who can wait with no time constraints), they are really lucky!

Haha but I was not in reno talk during my search ma, din even know the thread moved to reno talk till recently.

During the whole reno process, we are bound to change our mind regarding this or that. There are in fact quite a number of changes to the inital plan. Imagine if we hired someone cheaper and when we want changes, what if he try his best to squeeze us dry since we were already his "fish"?For patrick, not only he will give advise and suggestions, he helped us to save cost. Certain changes which is not too drastic, he absorbed the cost and did extra for us. You have no idea how grateful I am to Singaporebrides forumers for recommending Ho Bee.

I had my reno done by patrick 3 years ago and was given 5 years warranty. Recently, I realised that there are some wear like cracks on the walls and ceiling and I told my hubby to contact Patrick. My hubby said that those cracks are normal and might not be under the warranty. Moreover it has been so long and Patrick has become a busier person hence will most likely don't entertain me. I gave it a try via email. I waited 2 days, no reply, no call or anything. Was quite disappointed, but was kind of mentally prepared tho. Guess what? I received a call from Mrs kwek this morning!!!!!!! She asked me when can the guys come down to fix my wall with no further questions asked! OMG, I was like so happy that I have found the right man to do my reno. He is indeed so so responsible! During my reno days, Patrick was very easy going and I really had an easy time with him. I am most likely to engage his service again when I buy my 2nd property when the property prices drop keke. After reading some postings, I would share a little of my experience when I source out for reno. Patrick's quotation was definitely not the lowest. I have about 10 quotes and his quote is average, I chose him due to the good reviews and no regrets! As for Ah keong, he is a nice guy, a perfectionist. But he sweet talks quite a bit. I prefer patrick's down to earth attitude tho:) My House done by patrick 3 years back, take note that this was a 20 years old terrible condition resale unit completely overhauled!
